If It Hurts This Much Then It Must Be Love

“She’s changed man, and I don’t know if I can take it” I rushed out starring down at the grass.
We gave up running after about five minutes and were now sitting talking on a park bench talking; I really needed to vent my frustrations to someone.
“When did this happen?” Jack asked looking up at me.
“She was different when we came back from our last tour, yano the one she couldn’t come on. I dread to think what happened while I was away!” I replied my voice rising with anger.
Jack slid closer to me before he ambushed me in one of his hugs, something I really needed.
“Alex, she loves you never forget that, and she’s 20 she has to enjoy her life. Go out for a drink with her rather than sitting up waiting on her.” Jack replied reassuringly.
“But I’ve not had a drink in 2 years, if I start now it’ll all be back to the same old shit start” I replied, I still wasn’t convinced.
“Have some orange juice then, just be with her have a dance, make up!” he replied hugging me tighter before he eventually let go.
He then stood up and shook his legs before saying “Now come on we were out here to solve my problems not yours”
I looked up at him; he had a white headband rapped round his head, he looked so goofy.
“Jack give up, running is something neither of us do!” I said looking up at him.
“But Julies, going off me I can tell, as I said she wants that lautner guy, with his tan and big muscles!” he replied, getting angry; but I wasn’t going to let him try and be something he wasn’t.
“Jack you don’t need to change, Julie loves you for who you are, and half of the country like that lautner guy it doesn’t mean they actually want to go out with him.” I said trying to put on my most reassuring voice.
“You really think?” Jack asked looking at me through his long lashes, he looked so cute and girly it made me want to laugh but I knew this wasn’t the appropriate time.
“Yeah man, now let’s go get some pizza!” I replied winking at him.
Jack nodded in agreement and we skipped down the road.
