All I Wanted Was You

Love is a word that means a lot to me.
I never take it lightly when you tell me you love me.
You have to mean it.
“How do you know you love me?”
“I just can look at you and know. A part of me knows just by looking at you. I love you. I don’t feel right when you are not near me. I feel imcomplete. I love you. You may not believe me but I do”
He looked sincere but I knew he was telling the truth.
I looked out back at the twinkling lights and then up at the stars.
“Such a wonderful night in such a magical place.”
“Made perfect with you here with me.”
He wrapped his arms around me.
“I will wait. I will wait for you to say it back. I am not going to rush you to say it.”
“Thank you.”
“Anytime gorgeous.”
I looked around there were not many people around.
I got loose from Rob’s arms and then went to the grass.
I laid down and looked up and soon I felt a body lay next to me.
“Why do you love the stars love?”
“Because they are beautiful, always shinning but their light takes years to reach us. They are just amazing. And then the stories and playing connect the dots its all wonderful.”
“So its correct to say that your favorite shape is a star?”
“yes that’s right.”
“Hmm.”
“What are you thinking?”
“oh nothing.”
Looking up at the stars shinning was a great way to spend an evening with someone I care about.
“Rob”
“Yeah love?”
“So since you are done recording are we leaving early or are we staying here for the rest of the week?”
“It depends.”
“Depends?”
“Depends if you want to stay here or not for the week?”
“You mean you can show me more cool places?”
“Yes I can show you the music clubs, the huge venues, the bookstores, the music stores.”
“Hmm sounds like you kind of planned this out.”
“Well I wouldn’t say all of it but yeah a good chunk of it.”
“You sneaky British man.”
He chuckled.
“Are you going to tell me where you are taking me?”
“Oh no its all going to be a surprise. Now tell me a constellation story.”
I smiled.
No guy has ever been this good to me other than my dad.
