Let Go

Big Decisions

“Gabriella, you ca let me see where I’m walking now.” Iker said.

I shook my head, even though he couldn’t see with my hands over his eyes and continued pushing him forwards. I stood on the tips of my heels and did my best not to trip as we walked through the almost empty club. Once we were through the door I pulled back my hands letting out a sigh of relief when I saw everything was the way it was supposed to be set up.

“Surprise! Happy Birthday!”

Iker jumped when the lights turned on and all of his friends stood in front of him. I’m sure he had thought I had forgotten his birthday since I didn’t mention it at all today, he just didn’t know what I had up my sleeve. I was proud to say I had pulled off a surprise party, getting all of Iker’s family and friends together without giving away the tiniest of hints.

“Did you arrange all of this?” Iker asked after he had spoken to nearly everyone in the room.

“Guilty.” I smiled.

“Thank you, mi amor. You didn’t have to do this but thank you.” he said.

“I wanted to make you happy. You’ve done so much for me lately I had to return the favor somehow. You thought I had forgotten didn’t you?” I wondered.

“For a little while, I did. I guess you proved me wrong.” he confessed.

“I guess I did.” I grinned.

“Always proving me wrong Mrs. Rivera.” he teased.

“That’s soon to be Mrs. Casillas.” I reminded him.

“One more month.” he grinned.

“I can’t wait.”

“You two are so sickeningly cute.” Margarite said.

“Thanks, I guess.” I replied.

“Come on, I’m stealing your fiancé and we’re going to dance.”

Margarite didn’t even wait for her brother reply before pulling me out of the room and downstairs to the dance floor.

“Is everything set for the wedding?” she asked.

“Almost, I have one final dress fitting before we fly to LA and Iker and I have to meet with the baker and catering company to make sure everything’s set.”

“I’m excited for your bachelorette party.”

“You’re just excited because we’re going to Las Vegas.” I reminded her.

She couldn’t argue there because she knew it was true but I was just as excited as she was. Partly because we were going to Las Vegas but mainly because it meant there was only four days left before I would officially be Mrs. Iker Casillas.

Margarite and I dance for what felt like forever and before I knew it my fiancé’s arms were pulling me back into his sculpted body.

“I forgot to tell you how gorgeous you look tonight.” Iker said.

“You’re looking mighty handsome yourself.” I replied turning to face him.

“It’s been a wonderful party, much more than I expected.”

“I had to do something special. It is your thirtieth birthday old man.” I teased.

“You love this old man.”

“That I do.”

“You better because in one month you’ll be stuck with me for the rest of your life.”

“I think I’ll manage.” I smiled.

“You’re not getting cold feet are you?” Margarite asked.

I shook my head as the car drove towards the Almudena Cathedral, the place where I would be marrying Iker Casillas in less than three hours.

“No, I just can’t shake the feeling that I forgot something and the house and worrying about tripping when I walk down the aisle.”

“You didn’t forget anything, I double checked to make sure and you’re not going to trip over yourself so stop thinking about it.”

I nodded and stopped myself from biting my freshly done nails as we pulled to a stop in front of the church. We were ushered inside by security as the paparazzi hounded us, wanting to get a shot of the world’s best goalkeeper’s wedding. Once we were safely tucked in our private room all of my bridesmaids ushered me into a chair where they all began to flock around me.

“Do I look ok?” I asked Margarite as we stood behind the doors that would open any minute now to reveal Iker and the rest of our guests.

“You look gorgeous. Iker’s going to go crazy when he sees you.” she insisted.

The next few seconds flew by and before I knew it Margarite was taking her walk down the aisle and I was standing alone behind the closed doors. I heard the music stop and the wedding march kick in and took a deep breath as the doors opened revealing all of our family and friends.

My eyes locked on Iker’s as he stood at the end of the aisle his eyes never leaving mine. Our smiles matched each others as my legs carried me towards him and before I knew it I was standing before him my heart beating rapidly beneath my skin.

“You’re breathtaking.”

Time seemed to fast forward and our words blurred together as we both recited our lines. My attention was solely focused on Iker as I felt an overwhelming sense of love overtake my body.

“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your bride.”

Iker smile seemed to light up the room as he leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine, the sound of clapping filling the church as our lips pressed together for the first time as husband and wife.

“I love you Gabriella Casillas.”

“I love you Iker Casillas.”

The feeling of the sun shining on my face pulled me from my sleep, loving the feeling of the silk sheets wrapped around my bare body. I rolled over to face my husband, my eyes running down his bare body to the spot where his lower half was covered by the sheet.

“Did you not get enough this morning nena?”

“I don’t remember hearing you complain.” I retorted.

“I wasn’t, I can’t get enough of my beautiful wife but unlike you, I’ll admit it.”

“I’ll admit it, I just don’t want to add to your ego.” I teased straddling his waist.

I leaned down and pressed my lips to his, Iker’s hands pulling the sheet away from my body.

“I’ll never grow tired of waking up to this.”

“Even when I’m old and wrinkly?” I wondered.

“Even when you’re old and wrinkly. I just hope you’ll still love me then.”

“I’ll love you until the day that I die. Like we said, until death due us part.” I reminded.

“I think I might like it here better than I did in Santorini.” I commented as Iker and I swam around in the ocean a few hours later.

“Mi amor, I think you like any place that has a beach, water, and sunlight.”

“That’s true, but now I can’t imagine our honeymoon being anywhere else.” I replied, swimming towards him and wrapping my arms around his neck.

“I’m glad you like it. I’m definitely enjoying getting to see you walk around in a bikini twenty-four seven.” he smirked.

“You’re not going to think I look good in a bikini when I’m pregnant and all fat.” I told him.

“You’re not trying to tell me you’re pregnant are you?” Iker questioned.

“No, there’s no bun in my oven yet.” I laughed.

“Well just say the word and I can put one there.”

“Do you want a baby Iker?”

“A baby is the only thing that’s missing in my life. I’m not going to pressure you into having a baby right now though. You’re only twenty-two and probably aren’t ready to become a mom.” he answered truthfully.

“Iker, if you’re ready for a baby, I’m ready for a baby.” I told him, making one of the biggest decisions of my life.

Never in a million years would I have pictured myself married before I was twenty-five. Yet here I am, twenty two and happily married for two days and discussing starting a family with my husband. As fast as people might think I was living my life, everything felt one-hundred percent right and not once did I fathom regretting my decisions.

“Gabriella, I’m not trying to pressure you into this.”

“You’re not pressuring me into anything. I’m ready to be a mother and I want to start our family.”

“By all means then, let’s get to work.”

I laughed as he pulled me out of the water and threw me over his shoulder, running inside and tossing me onto the bed. Life had never been so good.

“So leaving out any details that involve a bed, how was the honeymoon?” Margarite asked.

“Amazing! I’m going to convince your brother to move to Bora Bora.” I gushed.

Iker and I had been home for five days now and we were taking advantage of all of the off time from football that we could get. Ever since our discussion that afternoon Iker and I had been constantly trying for a baby but I was patiently waiting to see if I was late before taking any sort of test. Margarite and I were sitting in a small café while Iker and Cristiano were shopping for new cleats, something we had no interest in.

“So did anything exciting happen?”

“Um, we started to try for a baby.”
“What? Did I hear you right?” Margarite questioned, nearly choking on her drink.

“Your brother and I are trying to have a baby.” I repeated.

“Wow! I never expected to hear that one.”

“I know it seems soon but it feels right for us.”

“I’m not going to judge you Gab. If it feels like the right thing to do then by all means go ahead. I want a little niece or nephew to spoil, I just don’t need any details as to how said niece or nephew was made.” she said causing me to laugh.

“I’ll be sure to keep that to myself.”

I know it's short and seems to be moving fast but I didn't plan for this story to be extremely long.
I appreciate all of the people who are constantly commenting but I would still love to hear from some new readers. :)
Hope you enjoy!
