Heart of Gold

Spoon Feeding and Planning

There was that idiot who thought she was Jon’s girlfriend. Ugh. I couldn’t stand seeing her. I watched her touching Jon and I started to tear. Thankfully he kept to pulling her off. Just then the group of hockey players surrounded them. Sometimes I was thankful that I had a bunch of hockey players for friends. Buff confronted her saying that she needed to leave. Of course they didn’t want to start and drama and I don’t like being in it. She looked around and left the building. Jon walked towards me. “Stell.” He started. “Yea?” “She’s nothing. I didn’t even know she was going to be here.” He said pulling me into a hug. “Don’t be upset.” he continued. “Honestly I’m not.” I whispered in his ear. He pulled away. “Really?” “Really.” He pulled me into a kiss and heard tons of gags behind us. “GET A ROOM!” yelled Burish.

I pulled away and laughed at the group of guys. I waved at them. Everything was going great. By the time everyone was gone it was probably around 3 a.m. in the morning. Jon was passed out in the bedroom and I decided to clean up around here so I wouldn’t have to do it later. 1 hour later I was finished. This condo looked like there wasn’t even a party. It looked normal. I zombie walked to the bedroom seeing Jon on the floor even passed out. I laughed at funny he looked.

The next morning I woke up and looked at the clock. 9:43 a.m. I looked around the room and there was Jon; still on the floor. I got up and put on my Toews sweater and headed to the kitchen. Opening the refrigerator door I pulled out some eggs, milk and butter for some breakfast for a hung over Stanley Cup Champion. When most of the eggs were finished a thud came from the bedroom. Suddenly I heard footsteps coming to the kitchen. “Stell?” Jon sounded groggy. I turned my head away from the stove to a dead Jonathan Toews. I turned the stove off and took the cooked eggs and transferred them to a serving plate. “Jon. Too much parting last night.” I asked. “Maybe so.” I walked to the fridge to get some Sprite. I passed it to Jon and he drank it.

Putting some eggs and toast on his plate Jon still looked dead. “You face is making me feel unattractive. It’s hideous.” I joked. He looked up at me. “Ha ha ha you are very funny. Great job making me feel better.” “Whatever floats your boat sweetie.” “Why are you so happy?” He asked me stuffing some eggs into his mouth. “Oh no reason. I love seeing yourself drunk. It’s hilarious.” I said putting some eggs into my mouth. “Your mean.”

“Your serious.”

“What?”

“Nothing.” Suddenly my phone started ringing. I rushed over to it and answered. “Hello?”

“Hey baby sis. How’s the Champion doing? And How’s the future Mrs. Captain Serious doing?”

“You talk to much you know.”

“Stella you’re my baby sister.”

“Andrea you’re my older sister.”

“Okay to the point. I was just wondering if you needed someone to help out with the wedding and well I just happened to be a professional wedding planner now.”

“Oh geez.” I walked back over to Jon and spoon fed him the eggs since he was a little out of it.

“Come on Stella please. This will be one of the biggest weddings I’ve even planned. For crying out loud YOUR ENGAGED TO JONATHAN TOEWS.”

Jon let out a laugh hearing this over the receiver.

“Geez Andrea could you be any louder?”

“Sorry. But can I be your planner? Please.” She said over and over again. Jon walked up behind be and wrapped his arms around my waist. Just then when I was getting comfortable he snatched my phone out of my hands.
“Andrea it’s Jon.” He said as he walked a few feet away from me putting the phone on speaker.

“Oh hey Jon. How‘s it going?”

“I’ve been good. How’s everything with you?”

“Better. So you are engaged to my sister.”

“Andy where are you going with this?” I screamed trying to get my phone out of Jon’s grasp. But Jon found ways to keep the phone. After a couple tries I gave up. I sat back on the stool in the kitchen waiting for Jon to finish breakfast.

“Andy we were wondering if you wanted to help plan the wedding. I mean it too because when pre-season comes its going to be tough keeping up with Stella.”

“Oh sure Jon. I’d love to. I’ll come visit you tomorrow. I’m in town anyway so I’ll just drop by.”
“Okay thanks Andrea. You’re the best.” Jon said handing me back my phone. I whipped by phone away from Jon and he continued to finish his food.

“Stella?” my sister asked.

“Yea. Wait why are you in town?”

“Well. You see. I actually have a job interview there.”

“What type of job?”

“I work for a bridal store helping out like brides with their gowns, the whole notch. The reception, ceremony everything.”

My jaw just dropped.

“Are you kidding me?”

“Nope. Ask mom. I just finished becoming a planner. So that means I can help you out.”

“Whatever. It’s fine. I have more things to worry about.”

“What things are you more worried about than your own wedding?” Jon interrupted.

Kind of forgetting that my sister was on the phone I responded, “Like making sure the bakery is up and ready everyday for costumers. Making sure your safe and okay for hockey season. Making sure the condo looks neat just in case we have visitors.” Jon walked towards me and put his hands on my shoulder.

“Everything will be fine. I promise you.”

“Jon promise is a tough word.” He walked closer and kissed the top of my head.

“Hey. Hey. It’s going to be okay. Haven’t I kept all my promises.”

I looked up at him. “I guess.” I said.

By the time you know it we were in an intense make out session. “Hello? You guys?” I heard from the receiver. I pulled away blushing and took the phone to my ear. “Oh sorry Andy.” “Right sorry my butt.” Then she hung up. Jon laughed at us and continued to eat.
