Crimson Cutie

Chapter 9

She looked over at Lily. Lily smiled.
“Did you see the news last night?” Brittany asked.
Man, I would hate to be her.
“No I did not, why?” Mr. Rogers said.
“Because-,” She looked at Lily.
Lily’s eyes have darkened and she was scary.
“Because we are gonna have rain all week!”
Lily went back to her normal self.
“Get to work, Brittany,” And he continued doing his thing.
I go a text. I reached into my bag and pulled out my phone.
The text read: ‘Hey, I’m going to Brittany’s tonight to study, wanna come?’ it was from Lily.
I knew she was gonna kill her.
‘No, I gotta go to my mom’s work,’ I replied. It was a lie.
‘Boo, okay,’ I looked over at Lily. She was happy and not facing me.
She was thinking of something.

After school ended, I went over to my locker.
I opened it and checked off my calendar. Thursday is gone.
I stuffed my textbook into my locker, when I noticed a note. It read:

Dear my Evelyn, its me, Lily. Im going to Brittanys for a party and to study. You do not have to go, bye! Love, your BFF, Lily xoxo

I gasped. They weren’t doing any of that. I better warn Brittany.
I walked over to her locker. She was standing there.
I tapped her shoulder.
“Oh, hey Evelyn,”
“Hey. Um, just to warn you, Lily is gonna kill you tonight, bewar-,” Lily covered my mouth.
“What are you blabbing on about now, Evelyn? You silly goose,” She laughed.
“Now what were you saying, Brittany?” Lily said.
Brittany’s face was shocked.
Lily waved her hand in front of her. “Hello?”
Brittany shook her head. “Uh, see you at your house,” Brittany walked off.
Lily’s attention focused on me.
“Listen. Stop being a tattletale. Stop telling people I’m going to kill them. Remember, I’m your BFF, we tell each other everything. If I killed people I would have told you by now, silly. Bye!” She blew me a kiss and walked off.
Yeah, I bet you have A LOT of secrets I don’t know about Lily.
I ran outside and sat in my typical place.
I was looking around for Lily. She was with Nicole and Gloria. Lily was asking them to join her and Brittany for a party. They smiled and accepted, I could sense it.
They all hugged and went their separate ways.
Lily looked at me devilishly and walked down the street.
Something is up with Lily.
Vivien came running up to me. She sat next to me and smiled.
“Hey, Evelyn. Listen this is about Lily,”
I turned to face her.
The rain was still coming down and Vivien was hard to see.
“Yeah?” I chipped my nail polish. A chunk was missing from my index finger.
“Well, Lily left blood in the hallway by the supply closet. Did she, kill someone else?” Vivien looked down.
“Not that I know of,” I replied.
