I'll Find Somewhere To Lay My Blame The Day She Changes Her Last Name

Small World

"Ahhhh there she is," Syn called from his prone position in one of the lawn chairs, Casey was sitting on his lap.

"Hey, hey," Sunny greeted them, looking down as she decended the patio stairs.

"Where were you?" Ashleigh asked from her spot in one of the lawn chairs underneath the shade of one of the trees in their yard.

Sunny wandered off the stone path leading across their backyard and walked barefoot through the soft green grass towards Jimmy.

"Partying," Sunny grinned at her cousin before glancing at Rev who patted his lap.

She smiled and made her way towards him, but he stopped her just before she was able to sit down on his lap.

"Before you get comfy," he grinned and sat up straighter, beer in one hand, and gesturing towards a girl Sunny had never seen before, "Sunny this is Trish, Trish, this is Sunny."

"Hi," Trish greeted her, reaching out her hand to shake Sunny's.

"Hi," Sunny replied, letting go of her hand and sitting down on Rev's lap, hoping for an explanation.

"Trish," Rev started as everyone hushed, "has been the victim of our messy love triangle."

Sunny looked at him skeptically so he continued, "well Chelsey flew home when we were in Arizona a couple days ago. She claimed that she was coming home to pack up all my shit," he quoted with his fingers to the best of his abilities, "buuuut, turns out. She was getting some on the side as well."

Sunny's eyes widened in amazement, "no fucking way," she gasped and glanced at Trish.

Trish nodded, gripping her beer tightly, "I came home from work last night, and caught her in bed with my boyfriend."

Sunny's mouth fell open, "oh my god," she glanced between Trish and Rev, "so how did you two meet?"

Trish laughed softly, "well, as you can imagine, an argument errupted."

Sunny nodded as she listened intently. She couldn't believe this.

"Anyway, it went from verbal to physical," Trish laughed at the memory, "she swung at me, so I lost it."

"She kicked her ass," Becca grinned.

Sunny couldn't help but laugh. She would have paid to be there to see the whole thing go down.

"Anyway, she left my house crying and I watched where she went," Trish glanced at Rev, "it just so happens that we're neighbors."

"Small world," Matt interrupted.

Sunny glanced at him and nodded in agreement.

"So right about the time Chelsey was unlocking the door in tears," Rev finished the story, "the cab I was in pulled up. That's how Trish and I met."

"I figured he should know about her," Trish relaxed back into her lawn chair.

Sunny suddenly realised what this meant and she turned her head to look at Rev, "so this means you won't be going to court?"

He finished off his beer and set it on the ground beside the lawn chair, "well, we might, but if we do, at least she won't be able to pin the infidelity on me. And she knows that. So I do believe negotiating with her is going to be easier now."

"That's awesome," Sunny grinned and pressed her lips to his in a quick kiss. There was no other way to express her feelings at the moment.

"Awwwwww," Casey crooned causing Sunny's cheeks to flush.

"So in honour of Rev's divorce," Johnny got up out of his chair and went to the cooler not far away from them and opened it up, "we're celebrating tonight by partying," he grabbed as many beers as he could and distributed them accordingly.

"Quite the thing to celebrate," Sunny laughed and glanced at Trish, "so what about your boyfriend?"

"I kicked his ass to the curb," Trish assured her, "I'm not putting up with that shit."

"That'a a girl," Kaela raised her drink to her.

Later on that night they began slowly moving the party from outdoors to indoors. Somewhere along the line, they'd aquired a bunch more people and now the house was packed.

"I need sleep," Sunny muttered, setting her half drank bottle of beer down on the counter in the kitchen.

"You can't go to bed already," Ashleigh protested as Zacky wrapped his arm around her waist protectively.

"I need to go to bed," Sunny replied, "I've been doing this for a week and I just can't handle it anymore."

Ashleigh nodded and eventually let her go. Sunny wandered from the kitchen saying good night to the people she knew before heading into the living room. There she found Rev relaxing in one of the recliners in deep conversation with some other guys. At least, he'd looked pretty occupied.

When she walked by he reached out quickly and grabbed her by the back pocket of her jeans, "hey where are you going?"

She stopped moving and stepped back to ensure that he didn't rip her jeans, "I'm going to bed."

Rev shook his head, "no come sit with me. You can't be tired," he let go of her pocket and grabbed her by her belt instead, pulling her until she was in front of him. Then sliding his hand up the back of her thigh and over her butt he pulled her on top of him so the she was straddling him in the chair.

"I am tired," she stated as she looked him in the eyes, "like I told Ashleigh, I've been doing this all week."

He smirked, "and who's fault is that?"

"Mine," she locked eyes with him, "which is why I'm going to bed."

"Alright," he stated but never let her go. Instead Sunny watched him finish his his beer and set the bottle down on top of the TV stand, "let's go."

She wrappd her arms around his neck as he began to stand up. His hands sliding underneath her butt holding her up as she wrapped her legs around his waist.

"You coming with me?" she grinned playfully as he carried her to the staircase.

"Absolutely," he smiled, nudging her nose with his own as he began up the stairs.

"Hey you two!" Matt yelled after them, "keep it down up there alright we don't wanna hear it!"

Sunny gave him the finger as Rev walked up the last few steps causing them to disappear from the view of everyone else.

"I could get use to this you know."

"Use to what?" she asked him, nuzzling her face into his neck, nipping at his skin lightly. She might have been able to control herself if the man didn't smell so damn good.

"Carrying you to bed every night," he murmured, walking into her bedroom and turning around to close the door behind them.

Sunny smiled against his neck, "mmm every night?"

Rev layed her down on the bed before crawling over top of her, "every night babe," he brushed her hair back out of her eyes, "forever."

Her heart began racing. She couldn't believe how serious he looked.

"Rev, how much have you had to drink?" she asked him cautiously.

He laughed softly and hung his head before looking her in the eyes again, "not very much," he was searching her eyes with his, "so are you willing to crawl into bed with me every night?"

"Rev...I," she couldn't belive what was happening. At least she hoped to go that's what was happening otherwise she'd look like an idiot.

"Are you asking what I think you are?" she finally spat out.

He tossed his head to the side slightly getting the hair out of his eyes, a slow smile crawling across his lips, "yeah babe, will you marry me?"

Her heart was thumping so loud she could barely hear anything. He sensed her hesitation and the smile disappeared.

"Please don't say no Sunny. We've beat around the bush for so fuckin long."

She laughed softly, "you know Mr. Sullivan, you move quickly."

His grin returned, "technically we've been together for along time, so it's not that quick."

She slid her hands slowly up his chest, pulling his t-shrit up with them, "I meant you just got divorced," she smiled, and helped him out of his t-shirt, "you really wanna strap yourself to me?"

He dipped his head down and brushed his lips against hers, "absolutely."

Sunny smiled against his lips, "mmm then yes James Sullivan, I'll marry you," she wrapped her hand around the back of his neck and sealed her lips to his.
