Unbound (The Wild Ride)

"I'm going out for lunch Mr. Jackson. Did you want me to pick you up some as well?" I asked him, leaning against the door frame.

Mr. Jackson looked up at me with a smile.

"That would be great Cynthia." He told me.

"The usual?" I asked him with a knowing smile.

"You know me too well." He said with a laugh.

"I'll be back in a little while." I said, grabbing my purse and making my way out to my car.

I stopped instantly when I reached my car.

There were rose peddles all over my wind shield and a card under the window wiper.

I looked around, trying to see if I saw Tyler anywhere.

I know it was him.

I know it.

I wiped all of the rose peddles off my hood and grabbed the card and ripped it open.

'Hey baby. I missed you today and thought it would be a nice surprise and make you smile. I love you baby. Love Brian.'

I smiled widely and looked at the bright red rose peddles scattered across the floor.

I felt so bad now.

Fuck!

Tyler is fucking with my brain!

Every surprise Brian leaves me, I always assume it's Tyler because he's basically been stalking me these past few weeks.

I held the note close to my nose and smelled, seeing if I could smell Brian.

I could and it brought an even bigger smile to my face.

I flipped open my phone and dialed Brian's number.

"Hey baby." Brian murmured.

"I love you." I told him instantly.

He chuckled deeply.

"I take it you found your surprise." Brian said.

I laughed.

"Yes I did. And it was really sweet of you to do that." I told him, leaning against my car.

"I love you too." Brian told me.

"How did you do this anyway? You're half way across the country." I asked him a laugh.

"I know people." He said with a laugh.

I chuckled and looked up, seeing Tyler leaning against the building I worked in.

My laugh caught in my throat and I almost chocked.

He waved at me and smirked softly.

"Umm, uh." I stuttered.

"Babe what's wrong?" Brian asked me.

"Umm, I totally forgot that I need to go and pick up my bosses lunch. I don't want to be late." I told him quickly.

"It's alright babe. I'm glad you liked your surprise and I'll talk to you later okay?" Brian said.

"Okay baby." I said.

"I love you." Brian told me softly.

I smiled widely.

"I love you too baby." I replied.

He chuckled and hung up.

I stared at my phone for a moment before I heard footsteps.

I looked up at Tyler was standing right next to my car now.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I growled at him.

"I came to take you out to lunch." Tyler said with a grin.

I looked up at him with wide and confused eyes.

"Tyler, what the hell is wrong with you? We are broken up. I'm in love with someone else. Do you not understand that?" I asked him in a hard voice.

When I told him I was in love with someone else his eyes got hard.

"You still love me Cynthia. I know you do." He told me.

"I don't Tyler. And this deal with you following me around and calling me constantly, is not working for me." I told him.

He came forward and grabbed my arm.

I swung around and pushed him away from me roughly.

"Get the fuck out of here before I call the police!" I yelled loudly.

My yelling attracted attention and Tyler looked around.

"I'll be back Cynthia." Tyler told me.

He walked away and I got in my car, locking the doors around me.

I didn't realize how shaken up I was until I tried to grab the steering wheel and my hands were trembling.

"Holy fuck." I gasped.

I tried to ignore the burning in my eyes but it was inevitable.

I kept seeing Tyler's eyes.

They were crazy with an emotion I'd never seen before.

He really thinks I'm still in love with him.

And he's willing to do anything to make me believe that.

I'm scared.

And I can't tell anyone about it.
