Braille Displays and Collapsable Canes

Archer Irvine is sixteen years old. He has a twin brother named Strider, two older brothers named Noah and Noel that are also twins, and a younger sister named Sloan. when he was fourteen, two years ago, he was walking home from school and a nearby ,though not very close, oil carrier exploded. Thankfully, Archer wasn't close enough to get any more then a few small burns and a few bruises and scrapes when he was blown back , but his eyes were the worst damaged. He was rushed to a hospital, but the doctors couldn't save his eye sight.

He was blind.

Archer is ajusting somewhat to his situation and he is going back to school. He hates being homeschooled by his older brothers, but hates the thought of going back to Miller North High School even more. Archer had been popular before. Captian of the soccer, cross country, and track team. Now all of his friends have drifted away. Frightened or creeped out by the fact that he's blind.

How can he survive high school when it was tough enough when he still ha his sight?
