The Simple Things

Drew's pov
I was in the middle of packing my suitcase when my phone buzzed. Dropping some shirts into my suitcase i reached for the phone. Looking down at the caller id hoping that it would be Marie returning my call. Instead it was reed the young man that has reuined his relationship with coley month's ago. I sighed before picking it up.
" Hello" i say tossing it onto my bed on speaker phone
" Hey drew, it's reed i head that you and ryan are coming home and throwing a party" he says
" It's only for close family and friends " i say hoping he would get the hint
" Nikki said to call you and ryan to make sure i can come" he says
" It's all up to ryan, it's his party, but i say no on the otherhand' i say trying to zipper my suit case
" Ohh, thanks anyway i'll call ryan" he says
" Ok,Bye" i say hanging up before he could put another word in edge wise
Finally getting my suitcase zippered i tossed it by the doorframe. Moment's later i was scurrying around my apartment getting little things together for the trip. I walked into the bathroom grabbing my travel sized toothpaste,toothbrush,floss,haribrush,shaver cramming it into a travel bag. Once that was all neatly packed and placed by the door I grabbed my phone texting marie before calling ryan.
* Ryan's pov*
I watched as noureen was fast asleep on my bed before heading downstairs to hopefully patch things up with tyler. Half way down the stairs i head my phone going off and a chair screeching across the floor. Moment's later tyler appeared holding my phone meeting me at the base of the stairs before dissapearing into the livingroom. I thanked him quickly before walking back into the kitchen to talk to drew. I leaned up against the kitchen island glancing at all of our flight information.
" Hey Drew, what's up " i ask
" Getting ready to leave, did reed call you" he asked
" No he texted me, i shot him down pretty fast" i say
" I don't blame you, i just hung up with him, we need to make sure he dosen't show up" drew says
" I will try my best, are you bringing someone with you" i ask
" Yes acctually two people one's a suprise " drew says as theres noise in the back ground
" Ok, we all can bunk in our old rooms, hopefully noureen get's along with the girls" i say
" Ohh she's acting up that's not good" drew says
" so your suprise guest bunking with the ladies or us" i ask
" One for each, i'm bringing someone special for coley, i think they will click" drew says
" Ok, I'll let you catch your flight, ours is in three hours," i say
" Catch you later ry," drew says before hanging up
Leaving my phone on the kitchen island I wander off towards the living room. Tyler was currently sitting in the master chair watching another re play of the bruins and hawks game from the other night. He was conestrated on the screen as i sat in the chair off to his right. As a commerical came on he glanced over at me. It look's like noureen has gotten to him with her evil words i sighed thinking of how to approach him about her.
" I'm sorry tyler she's not use to new people" i say
" It's not you're fault millsy, it just brings back so many memories" he admits
" We'll hopefully this trip you can unwind, you'll get to meet the whole fam" i say
" I'm excited just to get away for a bit" he says turning the tv down
" I know we were all chomping at the bit" i admit
" how long are we staying" he asks
" Just one week, i promise she'll be better to you" i say
" I think i can forgive her " he admits
" thanks, tymy i'll tell her to appoligise when she get's up" i say
" Anytime, when do we leave" he asks
" Two hours, are you up for cards" i ask
" Sure" he says shutting off the tv while i get the cards
" Is it true you have an adopted sister" he asks out of the blue
I spun around fast nearly nearly colliding into him as he head's to the kitchen table. I think for a moment reaching for the cards. I just don't want either of them going crazy from all their drama from their ex's. Grabbing the deck i set them on the table before going to get my phone that held all my pictures. I scrolled throught the pictures untill i found one of the younger bunch from last season's game opener. Of course he knew who bryce is he met him a bunch of times from when he came up for spring break three monts ago. Brynne is the one next to him then coley i say just as her caller id showed up. Tyler looked at me as i smiled " go ahead answer it " i say watching him as he fumbled with the phone.
