A Little Piece of Heaven

Brian's POV

I woke up and turned on my side, reaching out to see that Cynthia wasn't next to me anymore.

I jumped out of bed and looked around.

Everyone else was up too.

I walked out of the bunk area and saw Cynthia and Val.

They were both standing at the little stove in the bus.

My eyes widened when I saw her smiling and laughing along with Val as if nothing had happened last night.

I felt the guilt wash over me like a tidal wave.

"Babe?" I called out softly.

She turned towards me with a huge smile on her face.

"Hey Syn! Good morning sleepy head." She said.

I'm guessing the confusion showed on my face.

The guys had the same look on their faces.

"Are you hungry?" She asked me.

I was still stunned and I didn't say anything.

"We made you breakfast." Cynthia said softly.

I didn't say anything.

I didn't know what to say.

So I walked up to her and pulled her tight into my arms, sighing in relief when I felt her baby bump pressed against me.

Cynthia hugged me back.

And feeling her arms wrapped around me filled me with a joy I couldn't contain.

"Go and eat. Your food will get cold." She said, rubbing my back.

I slowly nodded and reluctantly pulled away.

I lent in to give her a kiss, just wanting to feel her lips pressed against mine again.

It felt like an eternity since I'd kissed her.

When our lips almost touched, she turned and gave me the cheek.

My face scrunched up in confusion again.

"What's wrong?" She asked me.

"Nothing. We still need to talk though." I told her.

"It's okay. I don't need an explanation." Cynthia told me as she turned back to the stove.

"But I want to ex---," I tried to say.

"I just want to move on, Syn." She said.

"Okay. Whatever you want." I said.

I went over to Val and thrust the plate of food into my hands.

"Enjoy." She said harshly.

I didn't say anything, just took my plate to the table with the guys.

"Morning." I mumbled.

"Hey." They said.

"Does anyone else think that Val and Cynthia's reactions have been switched?" I asked lowly so they wouldn't hear.

I'd rather not have Val kick me in the balls.

Everyone but Zacky nodded.

I finished eating without another word.
