Lyrissa's Sparkles II

Chapter Fourteen

“So do you think you and Logan will ever get married?” Jazz asked as she, Jean, and Lyrissa all sat together in a large mud bath, while the guys went off to have some ‘manly pampering’. “What brought that question up?” Jean asked with a laugh towards Lyrissa’s shocked expression. “Well I was thinking about that couple last night, and how she reminded me of you, and then Andrew asked me if I thought you two would ever get married, and now I’m all curious.” She answered. “Well… we never talk about it, and I never think about it, so I really don’t know.” Lyrissa shrugged.

“Wait, never? You never think about having a family, and kids with him?” she asked in surprise, “I mean, sure you’ve only bedded him once, but still! I’d think out of anyone you would be the one to think of that stuff.”

Lyrissa blushed a lovely crimson at the mention of having ‘bedded’ Logan, while Jean just laughed. “No, I haven’t.” she muttered. “Wow, talking about it makes you blush! Like it was… he was your first time!!” Jazz gasped after coming to the realization. “Okay, that’s enough talk about Lyrissa’s personal life with Logan.” Jean announced. “Sure thing,” she grinned as Lyrissa’s hair started to slowly regain it’s sparkles.

After a few hours of separate activities, the couples reunited and got in their cars. The spa retreat was fun, but everyone agreed it was too quiet for comfort. There were no pranks, no fighting kids, no power outages, and as strange as it was, they missed all that. But before they left, Jazz and Andrew emptied a small bottle of shampoo into the hot tub, and let the bubbles overflow.

“Well at least we know they had fun.” Scott sighed as he and Jean led their line down the highway. “Andrew and Jazz?” she laughed. “Yeah, when they’re being irresponsible like that, they’re having fun.” He nodded.

“And what about you? Did you have fun?”

“Of course.”

She laughed lightly and stuck her hand out the window, giving a sort of signal that confused him entirely. “What was that?” he asked blankly. “Letting Lyrissa know you actually enjoyed yourself. She was worried you wouldn’t have fun, since there were no plans to work out, and no missions to lead.” She smiled.

“I miss it, but I almost don’t want to go home.” Lyrissa sighed as they followed Scott’s car. “Ya won’t when we get there. We both know ya’ll be happy to be there, playin’ with Allie, helpin’ Marvin, workin’ on the bikes,”

“Speaking of, I need a few more parts to get the Shovelhead running. Then we can take her out.” She smiled happily.

“Dead middle of winter, darlin’. Where do ya plan on riddin’ this thing?”

“On the road? People ride bikes all year ‘round. Plus, I used to race in this.”

“On icy roads?”

“You wondered how I learned to control a drift on ice like that?”

“Ya could’ve been killed.”

“Yeah, but I got six grand out of that race.” She laughed proudly and continued to reminisce about the races and her old life before moving back into the mansion until they got home.

“Sparkles!” Allie squealed when they walked through the door, jumping into her arms and knocking her backward into Scott and Logan. “We missed you!” she announced happily while squeezing the life out of Lyrissa. “We missed you too!” she beamed, returning the hug before setting her down and teleporting up to unpack her things, since it was late by the time they got home, pretty much everyone was in bed, and the ones who weren’t were heading there.

Moments later Logan was knocking on her door, and letting himself in. “Hi there.” She laughed as he wrapped his arms around her from behind and kissed the side of her neck. “You love doing that, don’t you.” She sighed as he chuckled at the way her hair went into a sparkling frenzy. “We both know ya love it too.” He smirked and slid his hands down her sides.

“Why?” she laughed as he continued to play with her, trying to see just how brightly he could get her hair to shine. “Because ya like it.” He grinned as she teleported them to the bed and lay on top of him, locking the door with one of her wisps. “What’re ya doin?” he asked with a smirk as she started to kiss down his neck. “I figured it was only fair to show you how it felt.” She smiled playfully before lightly biting his collarbone, smirking against his skin when he tensioned below her. “I don’t remember bitin’ ya darlin’.” He grinned before flipping her over and trading places with her, “But if ya want me to,” he smirked, once again using the small tricks he had found out over the time they’d been together to drive her insane.

Within minutes both of them were wrapped around each other, and barely half dressed. “Ya sure about this?” he asked after detaching himself from her lips for air. “More sure than I was last time.” she breathed, arching back and pressing herself harder against his body as he started kissing his way down hers.

The next morning she woke up wrapped in his flannel shirt, smiling when she saw him watching her carefully. “Morning,” she smiled, rolling over and letting his arms find their way around her. “Mornin’, how’d ya sleep?” he smirked after kissing her a few times. “You didn’t really let me.” She giggled, “And I think you bruised me.”

“Sorry, ya okay?” he asked, genuinely feeling bad for it. “I don’t think I’ve ever had a better night… don’t apologize for it.” She laughed and kissed him again before getting up and getting herself dressed.

“Didn’t you two do that enough on your trip?” Andrew teased when they passed him on their way to breakfast. “Do what?” she asked quickly, worried that the kids were able to hear them. “Do what,” he scoffed, “The whole mansion knows, Sparkles.”

Her blush grew deeper as she quickly made her way to breakfast, taking some blackberry-jam-covered toast to the head as soon as she got through the door to the dining room. “Sorry, I was aiming at Cyclops!” Max laughed. “What did you do, Scotty?” she demanded while wiping the jelly from her face. “I didn’t do anything.” He defended. “He was trying to cover for you two. We’re street kids, remember? We know what S-E-X is.” Dante explained. “You, uhm, w-we were,’ she stammered, losing all her sparkle. “Having fun and you know it. Just next time don’t do it in the room next to mine.” Jazz smirked and flipped some pancake bits at Gambit.

As the weeks passed Xavier got the teasing to stop, but his concern for Lyrissa was growing. She wasn’t acting like herself, and was eating less than usual. He was on his way to her room early one morning, knowing she was awake before anyone else in the mansion, when she ran past him and into the bathroom to vomit. “Lyrissa, are you all right?” he asked worriedly, rubbing her back as she continued to vomit. “I don’t know… I’ve been sick for days and I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” She gagged, flushing the toilet and getting up to brush her teeth.

“Lyrissa, did you and Logan use protection when you were being intimate?” he asked seriously. She froze and dropped her toothbrush into the sink. “No,” she gasped. “Lyrissa, calm down. We can have Hank run some tests to be sure before we jump to any conclusions.” He consoled as she sat down and started to cry. “I’m not ready for this, Uncle Charlie, and he… he won’t want it, I-I don’t know what to do!” she sobbed into her hands. “Shh, calm down, Lyrissa. It will be all right. We don’t know if you are or not yet. But if you are I will make sure you’re taken care of. Whatever decision you come to, we will work it out.” He assured.

She continued to cry until Rogue walked in and knelt down beside them. “Sugar what happened?” she gasped, taking some toilet paper and handing it to her to wipe her tears away. “I, I think I’m, p-pregnant.” She whimpered. “Ah Sugar,” she sighed, putting a gloved hand on her shoulder.

“The others are starting to wake up,” Xavier announced. “I’ll take her.” Rogue nodded and helped Lyrissa to her feet. “C’mon sweetie, let’s get ya outta here before someone starts askin’ questions.” She sighed. Lyrissa just put her arms around her and teleported them to her tree-fort, which Logan had helped her fix up to hold the weight of full grown adults, instead of an eleven year old.

“He’s gonna be so mad,” she cried as Rogue held her, being very careful not to let their skin touch. “He ain’t gonna be mad at ya. A little surprised maybe, but I don’t think ya have anythin’ to worry about.” She consoled.

“Rogue, he is going to be pissed! He doesn’t want any more kids in this house. He’s fed up enough with the amount we have now. Before I moved back in you had Jubilee. Now you have Jubilee, Dante, Max, Box, Jazz, Andrew, Allie, Kiera, Marvin… and a new baby?”

“Only if you are pregnant. We don’t know yet sugar. Just talk to him, he ain’t gonna be that bad. He loves ya more than he could ever show, he could never do somethin’ to hurt ya.”

“I don’t want to talk to him, Rogue. I’m scared to talk to him.” She cried harder as the thoughts and fears flooded her head. They were suddenly pushed away though, as Jean climbed up to join them.

“The Professor said you were upset, but wouldn’t tell me why.” She explained. “Lyrissa might be pregnant.” Rogue answered when Lyrissa couldn’t get the words out. “Oh my god, does Logan know?” she gasped. Lyrissa shook her head and whimpered. “Okay, we’ll straighten things out. First you need to talk to him, and then you need to take a test and make sure. Then… if you are we’ll just have to create a nursery, and start getting ready to have another mutant in the house.” She smiled.

“You’re excited over this,” Lyrissa laughed in disbelief. “I’m not excited about your situation. I just started thinking about life in the mansion with a baby.” She smiled and showed her some of the images she had seen. “Go on sugar, talk to the man. It beats freezin’ to death in a tree.” Rogue smiled.

It still took another two hours to talk Lyrissa into taking the test and talking to Logan. She was still terrified about his reaction, but a part of her now was excited about being a mother. Jean and Rogue went with her to take the test, and had to cross between comfort and celebration when Beast announced the results were positive. Five more tests later, Lyrissa was convinced; she was indeed pregnant.

“Logan, I need to talk with you.” She said nervously as he, Scott, and Gambit left the Danger Room. “Hey, you okay? Gambit ain’t seen you all day.” Gambit asked worriedly. “Yeah,” she dismissed, “Logan, please?” she pushed. “Sure, ya wanna take us up?” he nodded, watching her worriedly as they disappeared in a swirl of wisps.

“What’s wrong, babe?” he asked as he stood by her bed while she paced the room, trying to think of how she was going to start this conversation. After a while she just decided to come out with it, and tell him straight on. “Lyrissa,” he pushed, now seriously concerned.

“Logan, I… I took six different tests, and Hank came up with, with the same result.” She managed, watching him with tearful eyes,

“And?”

“And I, I’m pregnant.” She answered in a whisper before breaking down and sinking to the floor, only crying harder when he stayed silent.

“I need some time to think.” He said finally, and left.

He walked down the hall to his room, changed out of his uniform and packed some things, and started heading to the garage. “Wolverine!” Scott called after him. “What?” he demanded angrily. “When are you going to start taking responsibility for yourself?” he demanded. “That ain’t yer business, bub!” he growled, and continued walking to the garage until Scott made the mistake of stopping him.

“It is my business, it’s everyone’s business, because we all live here together, Wolverine. You need to take responsibility for this family!”

Wolverine turned around and punched him in the stomach. “I told you, it ain’t yer business.” He spat, and stormed the rest of the way to his jeep, speeding away from the mansion.

“Hey, Lyrissa, what happened? Did you and Wolverine like, have a fight or something?” Jubilee asked after walking through her open door and kneeling down beside her. She was on her way to see Jazz, who had become her best friend, when she saw Lyrissa sobbing in her room and decided to help her. “Not a fight.” She managed just as Gambit and Andrew passed her room, stopping in their tracks at the sound of her sobbing.

“What happen, Petit?” Gambit asked gently, putting his hands on her shoulders as Jubilee stood and watched awkwardly. Lyrissa tried to answer him through her crying, but the only words they could make out were “Baby” and “He doesn’t want it”.

“Andrew close de door.” He ordered after kicking him and Jubilee out of the room, and threatening them to keep their mouths shut. Andrew nodded and did as he was told. “Is dis why you been gone all day?” he asked calmly, hugging her as she continued to cry. “I k-knew he wouldn’t, want, it Gambit… but h-he left. He left!” she sobbed into his chest.

“Hey, don’ you worry. Gambit gonna take care of you, Petit. Do de others know?”

“Only Jean, Rogue, you, Logan, Hank, and Uncle Charlie.”

“We gonna keep dis a secret, or we gonna tell dem?”

“I don’t know.” She whimpered. “Okay. Don’ worry, Lyrissa. It gonna be all right.” He promised and held her until she calmed down and was able to leave the room again.
