Into Your Icy Blues

Thirteen.

"You just won't leave me alone, will you?"

The smile that was planted on Gerard Way's face did not falter.

"Nope," he replied cheerfully, taking a sip out of the mug in his hands.

"What the hell are you doing in my apartment, Way?" she growled, spinning around to glare at the man.

"Oh, just visiting," he drawled as he wrapped his hands around his coffee mug.

"Well how about going to ‘just visit’ someone who actually wants to see you?" she snarled, using her fingers to make air quotes.

"I get the feeling that I'm not welcome here," he whispered to Frank, the smile on his still unfaltering. Jade merely groaned and went to pour herself a cup of coffee.

"I made you coffee," Gerard offered as she sat the coffee pot back down.

"You made yourself coffee," she corrected, seating herself on a stool at her island counter.

"Same difference," the man shrugged.

"Hmf."

When Jade returned home from the studio that evening, her apartment was a bit fuller than she remembered leaving it. Gerard and Mikey Way and their counterparts occupied the couch, Ray and Christa shared a love seat, and Frank and her brother sat perched on bar stools across the room from his friends.

"What a surprise," Jade deadpanned she slipped her jacket off and hung it neatly on a coat rack by the door.

"Don't pretend you aren't happy to see us!" Ray grinned.

"Ecstatic."

"As you should be."

Jade caved and allowed a tiny smile to grace her lips before making her way over to greet her guests.

Some time later that night, she was approached by Gerard. "I think you should go talk to Frank."

"Fuck off." She didn't even have to look from her computer.

"I think it would make things less awkward between the two of you," the voice tried again. "And I think the two of you would be happier in the long run."

"I think I would be happier in the long run if you would leave me alone," her voice had lost none of its hostility.

"Jade."

"Do you remember what happened last time I went to talk to him?!"

"Well, don't let that happen again."

"I can't fucking help it, Gerard!" She was sure her voice had risen to a level that could be heard downstairs. Gerard's eyes had doubled in size, and her hand flew up to her mouth in realization. Obscenities flew out of her mouth as a gleeful smile spread across her friend's face.

"I hate you!" she called after him as he hurried out of her room and, without a doubt, downstairs to where the others sat waiting.

Jade spent the rest of the night locked in her room, dreading having to go downstairs. Knowing Gerard, he hadn't been able to keep his mouth shut for more then a minute. It was bad enough that her friends and brother would know about her feelings, much less having to face Frank. She sighed before rolling over to catch a glimpse of the clock on her iHome. 8:30. She still had a few hours before the others would be up.

Groaning, the girl sat up and let her legs hang over the side of her bed. She let her head fall into her hands for a moment before pulling herself to her feet.

After spending no more than ten minutes making herself look presentable, she headed down to the kitchen and spent the next hour watching TV and making enough food to feed all of her house guests.

All too soon, they slowly began emerging from where ever they had fallen asleep the night before. None of them seemed to act out of the ordinary, but Jade's suspicions were not subdued.

When at last Gerard stumbled down the stairs whilst rubbing his eyes, Jade hurried over to him and dragged him into the back room and began interrogating him.

"Did you tell them?" she hissed.

He looked back at her with bleary, confused eyes.

"What?" he asked, before breaking into a long yawn.

"Did. You. Tell. Them?" she repeated lowly.

"Tell them what now- oh!" he smirked, suddenly appearing more awake.

She glared.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" he sneered.

"Gerard…" she warned, her eyes narrowed.

He continued to smirk and got up from the couch he had dropped down onto. Before he had to chance to get anywhere, however, he was tackled to the ground by a very agitated Jade Bryar.

"Hey you," she snarled, pointing a finger dangerously close to his eye. "How 'bout you tell me whether or not you told them so I can stop being an awkward mess?"

The man, who actually looked a bit frightened, easily lifted her off of him and began to make his way out again. When he reached the door he turned around to see her still lying on the floor.

"I didn't," he announced, before opening the door and making his way out.

"Fucker…" Jade murmured, remaining on the floor.

The rest of the day went on fairly uneventfully. None of her friends were acting awkwardly, so Jade safely assumed that Gerard had been telling the truth.

That evening, they all say squished in a booth at a restaurant of Bob's choice. Jade sat between her brother and the younger Way brother.

"I'm going into work tomorrow," she mentioned as she lazily stirred her iced tea. There was a short silence, in which glances were exchanged between several men.

"Speaking of, uh, work," Gerard started. "Tour kicks off in a month. You coming?" Jade continued stirring for a moment before looking up and shrugging.

"We'll have to see, I guess."

"Is that an I'll go if my schedule isn't busy, my dear, lovely Gerard or a you wish, asshole, I'm just saying that to get you off my back?" he wondered, causing the rest of the table to burst into laughter at his bluntness.

"The first one, I guess," she decided. The man beamed happily.

After the food had arrived, and she was happily eating her salad, a foot kicked hers under the table. She looked up immediately, eyes searching her friends' faces for the culprit. When they landed on Frank, he smiled at her encouragingly before mouthing what she could only translate as "Come with us." She pretended to look thoughtful for a second before exaggeratingly shrugging her shoulders and lowering her eyes back to her food with a giddy smile on her face.
