Tech Romance.

John.

My hands went up her shirt, my finger tops gracing every bit of soft skin. I felt her lips against my neck kissing softly sending shivers up and down my spine. I grabbed her hips pulling her on top of me as her lips continued to kiss and suck on my neck. I tried my hardest to calm down but I couldn’t, especially with what Alison was doing with her lips.

“We should stop before I can’t anymore.”

She pulled her lips away from my neck looking up into my eyes; she shyly nodded her head before getting off of me. I looked over at her; her small shorts just wanted to come off. I heard my phone going off once again on my computer desk. Alison looked over at me confused as to why I was ignoring my phone calls, but she should know that I just wanted to be with her.

“Your friends are going to start thinking I kidnapped you.”

“Let them”, I said with a laugh before lying down on my bed, pulling her down with me with a laugh. “There’s no where I would want to be then here with you.”

She gave me a smile before leaning in and kissing me softly. I lay on my side as I pulled her body closer to me, kissing her deeper. I held on to her waist as her shirt was lifted up higher on her body.

“So what did you want to do today?” I asked still holding on to her waist, knowing my boundaries with Alison.

“You have band practice”, she said with a laugh. “And I have to do some stuff with my parents.”

“How about we blow that all off and lay in bed all day.”

“Sounds good but then my Dad will come here find us in bed and use that gun that you’ve been so scared of.”

“Yeah, my plan blows”, I said with a laugh before pressing my lips against hers. “How about I go to band practice, you go do good deeds with your parents. Then we have a date night.”

“And what does this date night entail?”

“Dinner”, I said kissing her softly. “Maybe a movie”, I said kissing her again. “And then whatever your heart desires.”

“I like that idea”, she said pressing her lips against mine again.

Once her lips met mine I couldn’t control myself. An innocent kiss turned into another heated one. My hands all over her body, the places I wanted to touch most were the ones that were off limits. I pulled away from her lips and pressed them against her neck, sucking softly on the skin causing her to giggle. When I heard a low moan come from her lips I planted my lips on hers, just wanting to taste her tongue.

“What’s going on here?”

Alison jumped out of my grasped and looked over at my Mom who was standing there with her hands on her hips. I threw my head back on the pillow; of course my Mom could walk in. Alison frantically got up from where she was pulling down her sort and fixing her shirt.

“I should get going, I have that thing to do with my parents”, she said reaching for her gray jacket that was on my bed. “Hi Mrs. O’Callaghan.”

“Hello Alison.”

“Bye Mrs. O’Callaghan”, she said walking out of my room, not even giving me a second glance.

I heard her frantic footsteps down the stairs and the door shutting. I looked over at my Mom who was just staring down at me with an irritated look on her face.

“Really John?”

“What?”

“Nothing”, she said shaking her head. “Your brothers wanted to hang out with you.”

I looked over seeing Shane walk into my room with a big smile on his face; I couldn’t help but to smile back. Ross stood behind him with an annoyed look on his face.

“Are you having sex with her?”

“Alison?”

“Yeah”, he said throwing me off. “Because you know if you do, the Sherriff’s going to kill you.”

I let out a laugh before playing video games with my brothers for the rest of the day before I went to band practice with the guys.

“Where have you been man, you’ve been MIA for awhile.”

“Just been with the girlfriend”, I said with a smile as Garrett looked over at me confused, Pat
giving the same look as Ryan and Alex continued on with their conversation.

“Has JohnO actually found himself a girlfriend?”

“You make it seem like I have never had a girlfriend before”, I said with a laugh.

“You really haven’t though”, Tim said as he wrapped an arm around Ashley. “Megan was the closest thing you had to a real girlfriend.”

“You’re a changed man O’Callaghan”, Alex said with a laugh.

“Alison has changed you and you don’t even know it”, Garrett said with a satisfied smile.

“How so?”

“You don’t drink?”

“Because I had a DUI dude, I fucking smashed my car. I think not wanting to get fucked up and drive is a reasonable excuse for my lack of drinking.”

“You don’t smoke weed.”

“My Mom was starting to be questionable; you know how nosy she is.”

“You spend every waking minute with Alison.”

“I’m with you guys right now.”

“But you want to go hang out with her now.”

“So!” I yelled out frustrated at people trying to tell me who I am and that I’ve changed. I’m still the same person; I don’t understand why people had to act like this. “I want to spend time with my girlfriend, so what?”

“Just face the facts JohnO”, Ryan said out of nowhere. “You’re in love.”

“Whatever.”

I didn’t want to admit to my friends that I was some kind of pussy that fell in love with a girl so quickly, but at that moment I knew. I was in love with Alison Jacobs.

Alison.

“Honey can you pass me that plate right there.”

I looked down at the tray of sandwiches before passing it off to my Mom. I looked over at my Dad who was working with the power tools on the new house that was being built.

“Alison Eloise where the heck have you been?”

I turned around seeing Sophie standing there with her hands on her waist looking over at me an annoyed look on her face.

“Hey Soph.”

“Don’t hey Soph me”, she said with a roll of her eyes as my Mom looked over at us. “You completely ignore your best friend and then you just say hey Soph me, I deserve a 10page apology and gifts.”

“I’ll let you two talk”, my mom said with a laugh walking off.

I watched my Mom walk off with a laugh a water bottle in her hand. I looked back at Sophie with a smile and she just rolled her eyes.

“So you completely ditch me for your boyfriend, what’s up with that?”

“I haven’t ditched you.”

“Yes you have.”

“Nope.”

“Alison you’re revolving your life around John and that’s not healthy.”

“Oh stop”, I said with a laugh looking at my best friend. “Just because I’m spending time with someone other than you or Daisy for the first time in my life doesn’t mean I’m revolving my life around them.”

“I know, I’m just jealous.”

“Why?”

“John stole my best friend.”

“Well Max stole my best friend”,

She let out a laugh before grabbing me into a hug. I grabbed her into a hug, I loved my best friend. I pulled out of her arms and smiled at her.

“Alison.”

“Yes Sophie?”

“Be careful.”

“I’m not dealing with any tools so I’m safe.”

“That’s not what I mean”, she said with a serious look on her face. “With John, just promise me you’ll be careful.”

“He won’t hurt me.”

“How do you know that?”

“I just do.”

Once that day was done and over with John and I finally had our date. We went to dinner, went to the movies and then ended up back to that parking lot lying on top of his hood. Death Cab for Cutie playing softly as we looked up into the night sky with a comfortable silence between us two. I felt John shift before sitting up. I looked over at him seeing that smile that was playing on his face.

“Yes John?”

“Wanna dance?”

“Dance?” I asked with a laugh as he jumped off the hood.

I watched him put out his hand with a smile as Transatlanticism played on the speakers. I couldn’t help but to smile as I jumped off of the hood and grabbed his hand in mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck as his arms went around my waist. I looked into his eyes and I felt those butterflies in my stomach. He gave me a smile as our bodies swayed to the music. I placed my head on his shoulder as he softly sang the lyrics.

“The distance is quite simply much too far for me to row. It seems farther than ever before. Oh no”, he sang in my ear causing Goosebumps to surround my body. “I need you so much closer.”

My body melted into his, both of our heart beating together. This perfect moment was something straight out of a movie. I thought back to all those fairytales I use to read, with the happily ever afters. And this moment seemed as though it was made for those stories.

“Alison”, he said causing me to come back to reality; I let out a small noise to tell him that I was listening. “I love you.”

And suddenly we stopped moving, but it seemed as though everything around me was in a spinning motion. I looked into John’s eyes and saw that he meant it. I leaned in and kissed his lips ever so softly. When I pulled away I looked into his eyes, he was waiting for me to say anything.

“I love you too.”
