So, I Love My Best Friend

So, I Love My Best Friend Chapter 16

“Clarissa!” my mom called from down stairs, as she walked into the house.
“Upstairs,” I called looking at Jerry. “…With Jerry”.
“Okay,” she said. “Dinner will be ready in a few”.
“Sounds good,” I yelled back. “Are you staying?” I asked Jerry as he got off my bed.
“I think I’ll head out,” he pulled on his shirt and ruffed his hair.
I smiled. “Okay,” I said standing up.
I helped Jerry pack up his things and led him down stairs. I watched him smiled politely at my mom before following over to the door.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said smiling.
“If you’re lucky,” I said leading against the doorframe.
“I’m feeling lucky,” he said lending in to kiss me. Jerry gave me a short kiss before leaving.
I smiled to myself as I watched him walk to his car. Once he drove away I closed my door, smiling.
“That was Jerry?” my mom asked.
“It was,” I said walking into the kitchen.
“He seems nice,” my mom said string the meet sauce.
“He is,” I said taking the other half of the loaf of bread out of the oven.
“What about Chauncey?” she asked.
“Um,” I said biting my lip.
How do you tell your mom that you’re in a fake relationship? Are me and Jerry even in a fake relationship? Boys are so difficult.
“Chauncey and I are just friends, mom. That’s how the world intended it to be. Jerry’s just as great as Chauncey”.
She gave me a look. “So, you’re using Jerry to get over Chauncey?”
“You can say that,” I said getting a plate.
“Who’s the girl this time?”
My mom knows my love life way to well.
“Rose,” I muttered, rolling my eyes.
“Rose…” my mom said nudging me in the rib.
“Yes…”
“Tell me,” she said as we made our plates.
“‘She’s he prefect girl’” I said mocking Chauncey. “It’s all he talks about sometimes. But she’s so fake, but to her offence she hasn’t threatened me yet,” I said walking over to the dinning room table with my mom.
“She’s sounds like a keeper,” she joked. I shot her a glare.
“I’m sorry, honey. I’ve told you once and I’ll tell you again. Love isn’t always on time”.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” I muttered digging into my food.
Later that night, after I took a shower, Chauncey called me.
“Hey,” I said resting my phone between my neck and my shoulder, so I could still talk to Tiffany. I had to catch her up on my love triangle mess.
“What’s up, kid?” he asked.
“Nothing, you called me, ‘member?”
“Right, I wanted your advice,”
“On?” I asked.
“Rose”.
“Duh, what happened?”
“Well, I wanted to take her out on a romantic dinner date, this Saturday night, but she told me that she couldn’t. She promised Jake that she would help him with something,”
“Jake…Jake Skye?” I asked.
“That’s the one,” he sighed. “What could she possibly be doing with her ex?” he asked.
“You’re such a girl; jumping to conclusions. Stop freaking out and ask her”.
“I did,” he said. “She dodged the question”.
“How?”
“She kissed me…” I could hear the embarrassment in his voice.
I made a face, “You fell for that?”
“Kind of…” he sighed.
“Are you stupid?” I asked.
“Hey, hey, is that nice? Is that a nice thing to say to your friend in need?”
“Yes, when he’s clearly an idiot. I’ll talk to her”.
“No, talk to Jake. Better yet, flirt with him; he has a soft spot for you,”
“And you know this?”
“We talk”.
I rolled my eyes. “How about we not make this an episode of ‘That’s So Raven’ and I asked Rose straight up”.
“Nope, asked Jake tomorrow. Please?”
“Anything for you my love,” I said as I watched Tiffany yell at me about officially dating Jerry.
“You’re amazing!” he yelled.
“In my ear much!” I said as my phone beeped, signaling that someone else was calling.
“Hey, I got to go,” I said interrupting Chauncey’s apology. “Jerry is calling”.
“Okay, night, beautiful”.
“Night, handsome”.
I hung up from Chauncey and answered Jerry’s called.
“Hey,” I said smiling.
“Hey sexy,”
“What’s up?” I asked trying to calm Tiffany down.
“Nothing, I just figured I’ll call you,”
“Aw, you missed me,”
“Of course,”
I smiled. “I should warn you now, that I have to talk to Jake tomorrow about Rose. Chauncey is worried that he and Rose might be doing something,”
“Okay, so, why the warning?”
“I might have to flirt with him,”
“Excuse me?”
“Don’t freak out, like I would actually go for him,”
“True…but you owe me,”
“Your wish is my command,”
“You, me, bed,”
“Anything but that,” I said laughing.
“Damn it, wear something short and tight tomorrow then,”
“You never cease to amaze me. deal,” I said logging off of my computer. I had to say goodbye to Tiffany, her caps lock was giving me a headache.
“Sweet,” Jerry said, I could see the smile on his face.
I laughed. “So, what’s up?” I asked turning off the light.
“My dick, care to help,”
I rolled my eyes. “Not really,”
“Because you haven’t seen it,”
“I’m sure it’s very nice, but I don’t really want to see it,”
Jerry gasped. “You sound like a virgin. Everyone wants to see my dick, well, not guys…well gay guys do”.
I sighed. “I’ll leave you to your thoughts”.
“If you must,” Jerry sighed.
“Night love bug,”
“Night sexy”.
I smiled and hung up.

The next morning I quickly got ready and packed my book bag. My hair wasn’t cooperating today. I didn’t have time to straighten it, Chauncey would be …
“Clarissa,” Chauncey sang walking into my room.
Speak of the Devil.
“Don’t come in, I’m a mess,”
He laughed and walked in. “You look great, as always”.
I sighed. “My hair is a pain in the ass, this morning”.
“I hear ya,” he said standing next to me. “I really need a hair cut”.
I watched Chauncey fix his hair and bit my lip to hold back my laugh.
He looked really cute when he fixes his hair.
I sighed and pulled my hair in a ponytail and fixed my bangs.
“Ready?” he asked.
“Yeah,” I said walking into my room.
He walked to the door and waited for me.
“Don’t you think that skirt is a little too short?”
“It’s for Jerry”.
“He’s corrupting you”.
“Or just making me sexier,” I said smirking as I walked passed him.
“You…never mind,” he said.
“I what? Was always this sexy?” I asked blocking Chauncey’s way.
“You are a pain in the ass,” he said throwing me over his shoulder.
I laughed and hit his back. “I’m wearing a skirt,”
“Sucks for you,” he said heading to his car.
I kicked and hit his back until he put me down.
“That’s the thanks I get for walking you to your side of the car,” Chauncey grinned at me as he opened his car door.
I flipped him off and got in the car.
“When and where?” he asked winking.
I rolled my eyes and waited for him to get in the car.
