A Story to Tell Your Friends
Trouble
I'm in trouble
I'm an addict
I'm addicted to this girl
She's got my heart tied in a knot
And my stomach in a whirl
But even worse
I can't stop calling her
She's all I want and more
I mean damn
What's not to adore?
“There she is.” Zach smiled standing up straight. He was leaning against the car that was parked right at the bottom of the step in the senior parking lot.
“Hi.” I ran down the stairs and wrapped my arms around him. I almost didn’t even realize that Cameron was standing next to him.
“Ready to go?” he said kissing the top of my head.
“Yeah!” Zach opened the car door for me then walked around and got into the driver’s seat. As we pulled out of the parking lot Zach grabbed my hand and entwined our fingers. Cameron as Kate were cuddled up in the back seat.
When we got to the hotel Michael and Nathan attacked me. They do that a lot. We all sat around watching movies and goofing off. They told me and Kate stories from tour and high school. I was in tears from laughing so hard. But then Zach pulled me away from everyone. We went into his…well our hotel room and sat on the bed.
“What’s up?” I asked looking into his eyes.
“Nothing I just want alone time with you.” He said leaning over to kiss me.
“Well now you got it.” I smiled.
“Fuck wait what time is it?” he smile fell.
“Uh…5:07 why?”
“I have to video chat with my parents. Sorry. Hold on.” He got up and walked to the other side of the room to get his laptop then walked back over to the bed. I laid back against the pillows as did Zach. He opened Skype and called his parents.
“What took you so long?” his dad Joked as his and Zach’s mom face’s appeared on the screen.
“Sorry I wasn’t watching the clock.”
“You guys have today off don’t you?” his mom asked.
“Yeah, we’re just hanging out at the hotel.”
“How’s your girlfriend?” his mom smiled. Zach let out a little laugh and glanced over at me. I smiled and just looked back at him. I wasn’t on the screen so she had no clue I was in the room.
“She’s amazing mom.”
“Did you see her for a long time yesterday?” his dad asked.
“Yeah I hung out with her all day yesterday.” Zach smiled widely.
“How are your feelings for her exactly son?” his dad raised an eye brow.
“I’m in love with her dad.” He glanced over at me again and grabbed my hand. Only if his parents knew.
“I’m glad. I like her a lot. From what you say about her she seems like a really nice girl. And you’ve definitely changed a lot since you’ve meet her. You have to bring her out here soon. I want to meet her.”
“You got it mom.” Zach said as he drew circles on the palm of my hand. “Hold on, okay.” Zach put the laptop down and got off the bed. He walked over to me grabbing my hands and pulling me off the bed.
“What?” I said low enough so his parents couldn’t hear me.
“Come here.” He pulled me to the door.
“What are you doing?”
“Act like you just got here. I want to introduce you to my parents.” He smiled and kissed my check.
“Fine.” He held my hand as we walked back to the bed.
“This is my girlfriend, Brey.” Zach smiled as he put this laptop back onto his lap and put his arm around me. I was cuddled up next to him. His mom’s face lit up.
“Hi.” They both said.
“Hi.” I smiled.
“So Brey is my son treating you good?” he dad asked. I just laughed.
“He’s treating me like a princess.” I looked back up at Zach as he smiled. His checks were a little red too.
“Good! If he ever treats you badly just tell me and I’ll beat him up for ya!” he dad laughed a little. I realized how a like they were. Zach and his dad were like friken twins although his dad was a little bit bigger than him and had a deeper voice.
“I’ll make sure of it.” I smiled.
“How did Zach get so lucky to have a girlfriend who is so beautiful and nice.” His mom smiled.
“Aw! Thank you!” my face was getting a little hot and I could tell that I was probably blushing. Zach kissed the top of my head.
“Okay so anyway…How’s Vic?” Zach asked noticing his brother was missing from the family chat.
“Oh he’s out with his friends.” His mom said.
“I guess I’m just going to have to call him later.”
“So what are you guys going to do tonight?” his dad asked. Right then I got a text from Kate. I read it as Zach did too.
“Well it’s apparently snowing so after we go out to dinner we’ll probably just come back here and watch movies.”
“Sounds fun.” His dad said.
“You’re in New York City Zach! Go see the tree or something. It’s so pretty when it snows there.” He mom added.
“Ha maybe. We’ll see how things go. I’ll talk to you guys later.”
“Bye Zach. We love you.” Both his parents said.
“Bye. Love you guys too.”
“Bye Brey nice to meet you.” His mom smiled.
“Bye. Nice you meet you guys too.” They waved as Zach closed his laptop.
“Well I think my mom liked you.” Zach laughed.
“She was sweet.”
“She was embarrassing.”
“Oh hush! It was fine!” I laughed a little.
“But I’m glad that they like you.” He said pulling me closer to him and kissing my forehead.
“Did you mean it when you said that you were in love with me?”
“Yes.”
“Good because I’m in love with you too Zachary David Porter.” I smiled. He lifted my chin and kissed me tenderly. This weekend was turning out to be perfect.
