The Gift You Gave Me

Calla’s pov
“Bella, wake up sweetheart.” I lightly shook her shoulder then opened the small curtain in front of her window.

She pouted and sat up, “If you don’t wake up you can’t go see Uncle Zacky or Mama Baker.” I told her making her quickly jump up.

“I wanna go see Mama!” She yelled with her big blue eyes shinning brightly.

“Okay, okay let’s get you ready then you can go see Mama.” I laughed.

I grabbed a pair of blue jeans, and a Bring Me The Horizon shirt.

First I gave her a bath then dried her off, and helped her into her clothes.

I brushed through her short hair and put a small ribbon in it.

“Do you want breakfast here or breakfast at Mama’s?” I asked.

“Mama’s!” She smiled happily.

I nodded and smiled, grabbing her hoodie then putting on her and zipping it up.

It didn’t take long to drive to Mama’s house.

She was happy that I brought Bella over even though I couldn’t stay.

When I got to Johnny’s the Berry brothers were inside looking like they were waiting for something.

“Calla!” Matt B yelled waving me over.

“What’s up?” I asked pulling out my note pad and pen.

“Did you really take away Jimmy’s right to see Bella?” Jason asked.

“Can I get you guys anything to drink?” I asked changing the subject.

“Don’t change the subject” Matt crossed his arms.

“Fine, yeah I did but in my defense he was making out with some chick who had my baby on her lap.” I sighed angrily.

“Look Cal, I know we can’t make decisions for you but you can’t just go and take the right to see his daughter from him.” Jason hugged me.

Matt joined the hug and I sighed, “I’ll think about it but I’m not making any promises to give his visiting rights back.

“As long as you think long and hard about it.” Matt nodded.

Jason burst out laughing, “What?” we asked him.

“You said long and hard.” He spoke through his laughter.

Matt and I started laughing too, then I got them a few shots.

I got off work early so I took Bella out to go eat at McDonalds.

“Guess what mommy.” Bella spoke with her mouth full of French fries.

“What?” I asked her.

“Uncle Acky said that we can both come over tomorrow.” She smiled happily.

“I don’t know” I sighed.

“Please!” She begged using that puppy dog face that Jimmy used to do.

“I guess but only for a little bit.” I agreed.

Bella fell asleep on the way back to the apartment.

After I took her into her room and tucked her in, I took a shower and thought over the whole Jimmy situation.
