What's The Matter With The Adults Today
I looked confused at Brian and re-word his sentence.
“So basically you want me to be a practice daughter?” I asked
“Saying it like that I feel like a jerk” He rubbed his neck
“Well I still need to go to school and watch Lily” I told him
“That’s fine…you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to?” He told me seeing my confused face
“Well umm I guess its okay” I told him not liking seeing people upset
His face light up and he smiled, he hugged me and I awkwardly patted his back. He told me to come on so we can get my stuff. I nodded and he ushered me out to his car and I sat in the passenger seat. I have known the guys ever since I started…I mean they interrogated me over watching Lily. I was scared and was almost ready to run out, but I needed a job and Lily was too cute. I mean I am a fan of A7X and I was shocked to find out my dad got me a job babysitting Matt’s daughter.
I stopped my bike and looked at the California house. I saw five cars parked outside in the drive way followed by two Harley Davidson’s. I put my bike against the garage and swung my messenger bag to my side. I walked up and knocked. Now me being only 13 and 5’6, a door full of men being over 6 feet minus one. I was freaked out…but I didn’t show it. Jimmy kept looking at me, like he knew me. It was scary…
How did my dad get me this job? Well I know Val, my dad was her photographer and they became good friends. So when they were at a shoot my dad brought up me needing a job and Val saying I could baby sit their two year old Lily.
I walked in with them in my shadow, Matt sat me down and they began to interview me.
“Hi I’m Matt, Lily’s dad and this is Jimmy, Johnny, Brian and Zacky” Matt said smiling showing his dimples
“I’m Karine” I smiled back showing my dimples
“We both have blue eyes” Jimmy said
I looked up and smiled laughing, he did look a bit like me. I turned back to Matt and smiled.
“Well tell us about yourself?” Brian asked
“I was born on February 9th; I’m 13 my mom passed away when I was little. I live with my dad Mason. My best friend Lisa. I like to swim, draw and play instruments like drums. My dad works as a fashion photographer for Victoria secret, Chanel and Dior, my godfather is Alexander McQueen. I sing and love to ride my bike. I have been to half of Europe and Half of America. I listen to techno, rock, metal and that’s about it” I told him
“Oh we have the same birthdays!!” Jimmy yelled out
Everyone looked at him and I begin to laugh. Matt disappeared, I looked around and I turned to face four men staring at me.
“You guys are freakin me out” I told them
“I have seen you before” Zacky said
“Umm your concert?” I told him
“You like Avenged Sevenfold?” Johnny spoke in disbelief
“Yeah! Val got me your CD’s and I loved it” I told him
“Well how come you aren’t screaming like a crazy girl?” Jimmy questioned
“Because I have met famous people before, it’s nothing new” I answered
“So who is your favorite?” Brian asked
“Well I don’t have favorites, all you guys are cool” I told him
“Well there has to be that one person you look up too?” Zacky said sitting down along with the others
“Well Jimmy because I like to drum and well I always wanted to drum like him.” I said sheepishly
“Why is Jimmy everyone’s favorite?” Brain asked amazed
“Look at him, he’s crazy…. Everyone can relate” I told him
I heard Matt coming down the stairs and I saw a small girl in his arms. She had light brown hair and hazel eyes like her father.
“Now Lily will cry” Matt warned
“Its okay” I told him standing up setting my bag down next to Jimmy
I grabbed Lily she was about to cry but then I smiled at her and she smiled back. She giggled and I smirked.
“Hi Lily” I smiled
“Hi” She whispered smiling playing with my hair
“Lily do you want Karine to babysit you?” Matt asked
“Ya dada” She nodded
“Jimmy” Matt roared causing Lily and I to jump
I turned and was looking through my bag…well all of them were. I raised an eyebrow and looked at them. My drumsticks, phone, iPod, wallet and candy were out. I felt Matt glared and I turned to see him doing that.
“Dada mad” Lily told me
“Yes he is” I looked at her
I was at my house and upstairs…when did we get here? I looked and grabbed two weeks’ worth of clothes in a suitcase. I called my dad and told him, he approved. I walked down and Brian was looking at the pictures.
“Is this your mom?” He asked
“Yeah, that’s her” I smiled
“I don’t want to sound mean” He started
“Go on” I assured
“But you look nothing like your parents” He told me
“Well, I mean…what?” I asked loading my stuff in his car
“Well your parents had brown and green eyes, they have blonde and brown hair. Your dad is what 5’11 and your mom looks 5’5” He said
“So?” I asked offended
“Not to sound mean I just wanted to tell you” He focused on driving
“I get that a lot don’t worry” I calmed myself down
“So you go to HB high?” He changed the topic
“Yup” I nodded
Matt’s POV
I noticed it’s been about an hour and I called Brian.
“Where are you man?”
“Oh I’m adopting Karine for two weeks” He said like nothing
“What?” I said confused
“Just ask Mich, got to go I’m driving” He said hanging up
I looked at my phone and at my sister in law.
“Brian said something about adopting Karine for two weeks” I asked
She explained to us that she wants to see what having a teenage girl is like and that they wanted to adopt. We cheered and hugged her, she smiled at Val and they gave each other a smile.
