A Muggle Christmas

“How was your break?” Lavender Brown asked as Hermione began unpacking her trunk. She had returned with quite a bit more than what she had left with. “We all missed you a lot, especially Harry and Ron.”
Hermione pulled out the small heart locket and opened it. On the inside there was a picture of Mr. and Mrs. Granger sharing a quick kiss underneath a mistletoe plant hanging above their front door. Hermione had taken the picture with a disposable camera. On the other side was a picture of Sam and herself. They stood in the kitchen one arm around each other.
“It was pretty good,” Hermione replied thoughtfully.
“Did you meet anyone interesting Hermione Jean?” Parvati Patil asked playfully.
Hermione didn’t answer and both girls cooed adoringly. “What’s his name?” Lavender crawled to the bottom of the bed and set her head in her hands.
Hermione thought back to the night that she had pulled Sam into her bedroom and told him how she felt. They had kissed until her lips were numb and his adorable green eyes were bright and playful. “His name was Sam.”
