Dog Days

Marina Gardner's life is flipped upside down with the tragic deaths of her parents. Her new guardian, a friend of her father's, isn't exactly the kind of care she was hoping for. After months of distress and pain in her new home, Marina is placed into a friend of her guardian's- Zack Baker. What she knows is temporary, she dreads what will happen next. Her life with her guardian had broken her, and Zacky knows this. What he doesn't know is why she is so different. But when Marina puts a mask of happiness over her pain, it's up to Zacky to get to the bottom of what exactly happened to Marina, even if he hurts himself along the way.

Not everything in this story happened to me exactly, but parts (which I will not specify) did in fact happen and made a large impact on my life.
