Chapter 42-3. Adobo Delivery!
Ito ba ibig sabihin ni AJ ng umorder ng iba?? Okay. This isn’t exactly how Eleonor Malicsi Dimaculangan imagined the help AJ would be giving her. Really? Another date?? Oh no, no, no… she’s through with all these crap!!
“Uh, I read it.” Sabi ni Kuyang may Killer Smile, pointing at the piece of paper Ellie was holding. Yung mismong mensahe ni AJ. “Didn’t get the Adobo part though.” He chuckled. “Wala namang pinadala saking Adobo si AJ.”
Ikaw kasi yung adobo. Ellie was starting to turn slightly flustered in embarrassment. “Kasi…”She tried, feeling a bit uneasy. Hindi niya alam kung papanong sasabihing… ayaw niya yung idea ni AJ. “Uh… ano ee… kasi… ganito… uhm…”
Napangiti si Kuya, parang nabasa nito ang iniisip ng dalaga. “Let me guess… You don’t want to push through with this.”
Nadali mo, tsong!! Ellie gave a weak laughter. Wala talaga siyang balak sumama sa lalaking ito, kahit na… he has such killer smile!! “Hehehe, sorry aa? Baliw talaga yung pinsan ko… wag kang naniniwala sa mga pinagsasasabi nun.”
“Ayos lang, sanay na ko dun kay AJ.” He still gave Ellie a warm smile, no hints of annoyance despite the fact that she just turned him down with their supposed date. “Well then, I’ll just... go.” Ellie nodded quickly than she intended to. Patay ka sakin AJ!! Animales ka!! She was already killing her cousin in her mind. But she was wrong to think na aalis na talaga ito. The guy turned around to face her, pushing his luck. “Can I at least... give you a ride home?”
“Will you hurry!!” Sef hissed at Japo. “Barkada mo yun tapos hinayaan mo lang sumama kung kani-kanino!!”
Japo smiled inwardly. He was satisfied by the way Sef was reacting, thus confirming his hunches. Actually nung isang gabi pa siya nagdududa sa kaibigan, even while they were partying at The Lounge dun sa may QC, that exact same night ng nilibre siya nito. Sef didn’t talk. He didn’t mention any names either… but Japo has few names in mind… and one of which was Eleonor Malicsi Dimaculangan.
Japo walked behind him in a slower pace, mas lalong nangaasar. Papaunta na sila sa carpark para kunin yung kotse ni Sef. They saw Ellie climbed in a red Montero and they were going to stalk her, but they were very poor at it. Ni hindi nila makita kung asan na yung sinusundan nilang kotse. “Kaya nga ee, barkada ko yun.” Japo said deliberately, emphasizing every word. “Malaki na si Ellie, she can date whoever she wants.”
“Whoever? That guy could either be a jerk, an idiot or a dumbass.” Sef muttered under his breath that Japo almost thought he was already breathing fire out his nose.
Japo couldn’t help but smile, slightly shaking his head. “Chill dude, chill!” He playfully tapped Sef by the shoulder.“Teka… Akala ko ba clown lang, ee bakit nagkakaganyan ka?” Parang biglang natauhan si Sef sa sinabing yun ni Japo. He slightly blushed, even his ears turning slightly pink. “E kung nililigawan mo na lang kasi...”
Napa-tingin si Sef kay Japo, his eyes narrowed dangerously at matatakot na sana si Japo if not to the playful smile Sef was also wearing. “FCK YOU CRISOSTOMO!!”

Sara gave a small smile, glancing up at him through her eyelashes. She didn’t get much expression from Max. Seryoso pa din ang muka nito but he offered her a hand para sa mga bagaheng dala-dala niya. Their hands touched at parang may electricity na gumapang mula sa kadulu-duluhan ng daliri ni Sara that she has to look away. Oh boy, I could die right now. ♥
“San ba kita ihahatid?” Max asked habang nilalagay yung mga bag ni Sara sa sasakyan niya.
Sara stood there with all smiles. Masaya na siyang pinapanuod lang si Max na binubuhat yung mga maleta niya. Her eyes glued on him... Oh yes... Those strong muscles Max gained through his taekwondo trainings, his cute black messy hair and boy those black eyes that seemed to melt her whenever she meets its gaze. I’m just so glad I’m home. No branded clothes from Australia... or the US... or Singapore can make me miss this!!
“Well,”She tucked some strands of hair behind her ear. “I haven’t eaten lunch yet.”
Max froze for a fleet second before he placed the last luggage in the compartment. “Ah, ganun ba?” He looked at Sara as though weighing her words in his head. “I know just the place then.” He shut the compartment and Sara’s heart almost jumped off in excitement.
“Huuwaaaaa ~ huhuhuhuhu!!!” It was AJ whining helplessly over Ellie’s shoulder. “Cuz, do you have any idea kung sino yung tinurn down mo??” He was totally devastated. “Akala ko nung una tanga ka lang ee, pero hindi… GAGA ka pa pala!! GAGA!! GAGA!!” He cried. “Sana ako na lang nakipag-date ke Brad!!”
Ellie rolled her eyes. “Ah, Brad ba pangalan niya?”
AJ looked at her in sheer disbelief, “Hindi mo man lang tinanong ang name niya?” Ellie just stared blankly at him, completely unaffected. “Huwaaaaa~” Iyak lalo ni AJ as he placed his hands over his forehead, massaging it. “Dios ko Eleonor, nakakasira ka ng ulo!! Akala ko ba kelangan mo ng tulong ko?”
“Ano bang nangyayari jan, Eleonor?” Ellie’s mom asked, confused with all the commotion AJ was doing in the dining table. Nakaupo kasi silang mag-pinsan dun, kumakain ng merienda.
“Wala ma, nagpapakabaliw lang ‘toh.” Ellie then turned to face her cousin. “Hindi ganun ang tulong na kelangan ko!!”
“Balbal ka, ano ba naman kasing silbi ng puso na yan kung ayaw mong gamitin?” AJ said sarcastically. “Pati ako pinapahirapan mo pa!!” Kulang na lang haltakin ni AJ mga buhok niya sa inis.“Nakakahiya talaga kay Brad!!”He pouted, like he was about to cry. “Ginawa mo naman siyang school bus ee!!”
Ellie sighed not really hearing what her cousin has to say. Puro naman si Brad ang iniisip nito ee. “Pwede ba AJ,” She snapped. “Yung susunod na plano mo na lang tayo. Basta, ayoko ng may ibang taong involved!! PERIOD!!”
“Choosy ka pa!!” Tinaasan ni AJ ng kilay ang pinsan. “Kahit nga ata dasalan kita, hindi pa din eepekto ee.”
“Ano? Wala ka bang plan B?” She nagged him by the arm.
“CHE!! Mag-isip ka ng plan B mo!!” AJ made a crying face but no tears were falling.
Ellie gave her cousin the puppy eyes. “AJ naman ee…” Her voice was pleading, resting her head against AJ’s shoulder. “Matitiis mo ba ko?”
Napatigil si AJ. He studied Ellie for a moment and sighed. “Hm, ee ano pa nga ba? Isa ka ding gaga’t kalahati ee…” Tumaas nanaman ang kilay niya. “Sige, itong plan B ko…from Brazil pa talaga.”Nabuhayan ng loob si Ellie. Imported. She grinned excitedly at her cousin. “They have this story… para sa mga heartbroken at mga kagaya mong sumusuko agad sa love… simple lang toh, kung di mo pa magawa, aba ewan ko na lang sayo!”
“Oh ano nga yun!! Dali…”
“All you have to do is to pour out all your emotions in a paper… parang love letter… tapos itatapon mo yun sa Amazon River, sabi nila, nagiging bato daw yung papel kapag naka-touch na sa may river bed, which actually comprises the stones dun sa river na yun… and all the LAV na nararamdaman mo towards the person ee, POOF, mawawala na lang basta.”
Ellie glared at her cousin. Yung tipong sasakalin na niya ito. “Anong gusto mong gawin ko? Lumipad papuntang Brazil para lang magtapon ng loveletter sa Amazon River? Sino naman ang gaga’t kalahating gagawa nun nuh?”
“Kasi diba? Pwede namang patapusin muna ko?” Ang taray ng pagkakasabi ni AJ. Baklang toh talaga. “Ganun nga yung version sa Brazil… ngayon yung local version mas madali…”
“Ano? Sa Ilog Pasig ko itatapon yung sulat?”
“Gaga, edi dumagdag ka pa sa mga basurang andun!!” AJ managed to stifle a laugh. “Kaya ka talagang tinatawag na Clown ni Sef ee. Balbal ka! Haha.”
“Ano na nga kasi…”
“Imbes na itapon sa river… kelangan mo lang sunugin yung papel at ibaon sa ilalim ng lupa mas effective kung saktong 12:00 midnight.”
"Sus mio, AJ... totoo naman kaya yan?"
"Ee may iba ka pa bang choice? Ayaw mo naman ng subukan yung paraan na alam ko..."
Ellie shrugged. Oo nga naman. Wala na siyang ibang choice. Last chance na niya toh. “As in ganun lang? Sus.” Ellie made a face, yung kala mo merong humahamon sakanya na mag-add ng one plus one. Yan, yan ang sinasabi niyang solusyon sa prublema niya… hindi yung may involved pang ibang tao tulad ni Brad!! AJ threw a scornful look at Ellie. “Sisiw yan.” Ellie grinned. “Sisiw na sisiw.”
