So There's a New Boy Next Door...Did I Mention He's Rather Cute?

Chapter 10

Later that night, we all decided, well Kyo and Hunter decided that we should all watch a movie. We all agreed, but the only downfall of this was that they got to choose the movie. They chose a horror movie. I’m not sure what it was called, and to be honest I don’t even care as I absolutely despised it along with all horror movies. The thing is, I get scared really easily.

The movie had not even been on 10 minutes and I had already screamed at least 3 times. On the fourth scream I jumped about a foot out of the beanbag that I was sitting in and grabbed onto the first thing that I saw. The thing that I had grabbed onto began to move and I immediately let go, yelping a little, hitting at it, still in fear from the movie.

“Ow,” said the object that I had hit at. I opened my eyes only to see that in the dark I had been hitting Casey.

“Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry!” I apologised immediately.

“Shhh! I’m trying to watch this,” yelled Kyo from across the room. I couldn’t help but chuckle a little at him and I heard Casey do the same.

I moved closer to Casey and whispered into his ear, “I really am sorry. I was really scared and I didn’t know it was you...and uhm yeah. I’m really sorry.” I was blushing really heavily at my absolutely stupid mistake and I was at that moment thankful that the lights were turned off, so that he couldn’t see the red beginning to invade my cheeks.

“Hey, don’t worry about it,” he whispered back. “I get scared of this stuff too.” I giggled a little, he was so...perfect. “You won’t tell anyone will you?”

“Of course not.”

I felt him smile against my ear as this time he simply whispered, “thanks.”

“You’re welcome, and besides, I think that’s really sweet.” He giggled a little and then I felt his arm wrap around me as he hugged me to him. I looked up at him and the light from the television screen caused me to be able to see his eyes. Oh those pretty eyes.

“I’ll keep you safe if you keep me safe.” I smiled at his words.

“Deal,” I wrapped my arms securely around his waist and clung onto him for the rest of the movie and he held me into his arms. Every time something scary popped up on the screen, I would clutch onto him tighter, by the middle of the movie, I was surprised he could still breathe. He didn’t look as if he was scared, or even affected by the scary parts of the movie, but I knew he was. I knew this, because every now and then, I would feel him jump just the tiniest bit and his breathing quicken. He like me held on tighter when a scary part came along. With Casey by my side, the movie was a little less scary, but I was still terrified.

To my luck Axel removed the disk halfway through the movie, due to the screaming of Hunter and Kyo. Jasey flicked the lights back on and we all laughed at the current state that the two little scaredy cats were in. There in the far corner of the room, Kyo and Hunter were clinging onto each other for dear life, I suppose that they resembled Casey and I a bit, apart from that they were both shaking like leaves. The thing that made it even more hilarious was the fact that they had practically begged to watch the movie and then by the middle they were begging for it to stop. This was just another reason why I absolutely loved Kyo and Hunter.

I looked up at Casey and he smiled down at me and we just sat like that for a little while. That was until Kyo shouted at everyone to “stop being such alienatic monsters” and be so mean as to laugh at their “scared disposition” I’m pretty sure that he made up half of the words that came out of his mouth and also used them in the wrong context, causing more laughter to erupt and for Casey and I to tear our gaze away from each other.

By now it was 1:30 in the morning and Hayden suggested that we all get ready to settle down as it was getting late. We all agreed and the boys all filed upstairs and into Hunter’s room and all of us girls filed upstairs and into Jasey’s room. To be honest it didn’t really matter how late we stayed up or how much noise we made as the neighbours were far away, and I mean extremely far away, considering the size of the house and the “garden”. I saw “garden” because it was absolutely huge compared to everyone else’s gardens. It was literally like a house that you would see on Teen Cribs, which actually Hunter and Kyo had applied to use the Lutzka’s house to be on as they wanted to be on TV, but to this day still haven’t been replied to. So anyway we all went upstairs and before going into our gender appropriate rooms we all said goodnight to each other. I hugged Casey and asked him if he was going to be okay and he replied that he would be absolutely fine and that he was having a great time. I was actually really relieved to hear that. He wished me sweet dreams before following the rest of the boys.

I had put on my pyjamas, along with Jasey and Hayden and we were all splayed out in different positions on Jasey’s King sized bed. I opened my eyes to find them both smiling at me weirdly.

“What?” I asked. “What’s wrong?”

“Sooo you and Casey...” started Jasey.

Then Hayden finished, “Spill.”

My heart rate quickened and then I did the first thing that I thought of, I lied. “What do you mean? There’s nothing to spill.” I suppose when I think about it, there really was nothing to spill about us, because nothing unusual to normal friendship was happening between him and I. Unfortunately, might I add.
“Oh come on Skye,” sighed Hayden exasperatedly. “Even I know that something’s happening there.” I looked at her blankly, still trying to find out why they both shared these thoughts.
“Don’t think that I didn’t see you and him all cosy in that corner,” added Jasey. I gasped a little. She had seen us? “Jasey and Axel may have been busy laughing at Hunter and Kyo, but I saw you two perfectly.”
“What?” asked Hayden, now even more interested. “They were cosy in the corner?”
“They sure were,” Jasey wriggled her eyebrows. Trust her to be the one to make something out of nothing. I mean it was nothing, nothing more than platonic friendship.
“We weren’t ‘getting cosy’,” I defended adding quotations with my fingers to stress my point even further.
“Well if it wasn’t ‘getting cosy’ then what was it?”
“He was just...making sure that I didn’t get too scared.”
“Awehhh, how sweet,” giggled Hayden.
“You’re not fooling me that easily,” stated Jasey. “No matter what it takes, I will prove that you to at least want to ‘get cozy’”. I couldn’t help but laugh at the challenge; it was just like Jasey.
