Untangle Me.

Danielle walked into the living room of the small two room apartment that both Amanda and her shared. She made her way into the kitchen, looking for the cure of this horrible hangover that was killing her head.

“Spill it.”

“Spill what?”

Amanda looked over at her friend with a long sigh before rolling her eyes. Amanda knew her friend was naïve but she didn’t know she was stupid. The dye must have soaked through her skull and made an appearance in her brain.

“Last night”, she said with a shout. “You disappeared you slutty bitch”, she said with a laugh watching Danielle walk in with a bottle of water in her hand. “What happened with John?”
Danielle let out a sigh before falling down on the couch beside her friend feeling her shorts ride up her legs.

“Nothing.”

“What do you mean?”

Amanda swore that her plan was golden by the way John was staring at her as though she was the last beer on a hot night. Amanda swore her best friend was slutting it up with JohnO.

“He ended up with another girl”, she said simply before taking a drink of her water.

The thoughts of watching John with a girl who had no name just a big ass and tits. She remembered watching them dancing very provocatively until the slut took it upon herself to kiss his lips, the lips Danielle so desperately tried to kiss all night.

“I’m sorry”, Amanda said seeing the hurt in her best friend’s eyes, no matter how hard Danielle tried to hide it. “But that was just one night; John turns out to be a good guy. Because the way he was looking at you, I know he was thinking very dirty thoughts.”

“Maybe I was stupid to think that a new look and a change of wardrobe would change his mind about me”, Danielle said defeated. “And a sluttier persona, it’s just not me.”

“Hey!” Amanda said with a laugh trying to seem hurt by her friend choice of words. “That’s how I get guys!”

“I stand corrected.”

Amanda let out a laugh before slapping her friend’s arm. Danielle couldn’t help but to laugh, laughter always cured heartbreak. Danielle stood up from where she was stretching out her body, feeling uncomfortable in the shorts she was in, but it seemed as though Amanda went through her clothes and cut down all the shorts in her closet.

“Where are you going?”

Danielle looked away from the camera that was being wrapped around her neck to look at her friend.

“I’m going to get some shots”, she said with a smile. The sun was at its brightest, her favorite time of day. “Then I’m going to Gary’s house to watch some movies.”

“You two should just fuck and get it over with.”

“We’re just friends”, Danielle said with a laugh throwing a hat on her head. “That’s kind of awkward.”

“I’m just telling you, you have options.”

Amanda knew Garrett Nicklesen was madly in love with her best friend. Everyone saw it, everyone but John and Danielle. Amanda knew Gary would be the better choice for her best friend, if only she would. John wasn’t the guy for Danielle, but Danielle saw it the other way around.

“John, why won’t you take me?”

“Shane”, John said in an annoyed tone of voice as he looked down at his brace faced brother. “I’m going out tonight and I know your ass will be there for hours and I don’t feel like spending hundreds of dollars on stupid video games that you won’t play anymore.”

Shane looked at his older brother with an unpleased look in his eyes. He just desperately wanted to hang out with his older brother. His brother was always on tour and always out, he just wanted to spend time with him. Shane idolized his older brother in everything he did.

“Mom!” he yelled as John threw his head back feeling the anger rising up in him. “John won’t take me to GameStop!”

“John Cornelius”, his Mother said from the kitchen. “Take your brother to GameStop, stop being a little jerk.”

John just rolled his eyes as he looked down at his brother who was smiling at him in triumph. John loved his little brother to no ends but right now he wanted to smack that little smile of his. John looked over at the counter before grabbing the camera from it and placing it around his neck.

“I told him I’d take him tomorrow, Mom”, John said looking down at his brother, watching the smile fade. “I have band practice.”

“Okay honey, have fun.”

John smiled down at his brother with a smile of satisfaction. “And I’m not going to be home tomorrow, suck on that little bro”, he said loud enough so just his brother heard before he turned around and walked out of the house.

John made his way to this special spot where he’d always go to get his mind off of things. He made his way to the park looking up at the sun. He stood there on top of a hill as he looked out to the beautiful sun shining down on the land. He grabbed his camera, peaking through the peep hole clicking away with a satisfaction. Arizona was beautiful during the fall. The sun was always out in a summer way but the changing of the trees made everything fall like. John looked around as he took pictures of the beautiful scenery until his camera captured something much more beautiful than the scenery in the lens. He pulled the camera away from his face noticing a beautiful girl standing there with a camera in hand. He noticed the long legs and the bright red hair. He aimed his camera taking more pictures of the beautiful creature until something clicked.

“Danielle?”

He was thrown back when he noticed that the beautiful girl was indeed one of his best friends. Every since last night, she was constantly on his mind. Very strange when it came to a girl like Danielle, she was a beautiful girl but she was always one of the boys. He made his way closer watching as she moved so gracefully. He watched her pull away the camera looking down with a satisfied smile before he eyes looked up to see who was creeping up on her.

“Got any good shots?”

Danielle’s heart must have jumped out of her chest as she turned to see John standing there with a smile. She loved that smile of his and the way his eyes looked in the sunlight. Hell, Danielle loved everything about John.

“Nope, they’re not coming out the way I want them to”, she said with all honestly, Danielle was her biggest critic.

“Oh shut up, you always take such beautiful pictures”, John said throwing his body against hers causing heat to flash her face.

“Whatever JohnO”, she said with a smirk hiding the blush that was creeping on her face. “What about you, caught anything good?”

John gave her a smile, thinking back to those pictures he had just took of the beautiful girl before nodding his head with a satisfied smile.

“I think I have.”

She nodded her head with a smile before putting up her camera to her face taking another picture before pointing off at John with a smile.

“Smile for me.”

John listened as he did the biggest grin he could muster. Danielle couldn’t help but to laugh at the sight.

“Pout for me, baby”, she said as John turned around to do an awkward pout sticking out his butt. “Growl, growl!”

John did what he was told causing the two to crack up with laughs. Danielle pulled back the camera staring down at the screen a smile plastered on her face as she looked through the pictures with John’s hot breath on her neck. She tried her hardest to ignore his body that was lingering on hers.

John leaned over looking down at the pictures, laughing as he watched her red nail scan through every pictures. John couldn’t help but to look over at Danielle, inhaling her sweet scent. John caught himself as he stared down her shirt.

“You are definitely a sexy lion”, she said looking over at John with a laugh.

“Did you expect anything less?”

“Of course not”, she said with a laugh.

John couldn’t help but to laugh before pulling his camera off of his neck and putting out in front of both of them.

“Smile.”

Danielle immediately put her hand over her face; she was never one for pictures. She liked to be the one behind the camera and not in front.

“Come on Danny”, he cooed pushing down her hands. “For me?” he asked turning to look at her.

Their noses touched for a second. Danielle couldn’t help but to look into his green eyes, feeling weak at the knee. Their lips were so close, one little move and they would have met. She nodded her head before turning to the camera smiling as big as she could before the click went off. John reached over taking her hat placing it on his head before they posed for more pictures. When Danielle’s lips found John’s cheek, John felt this strange feeling in the pit of his stomach, a feeling he pushed away. They pulled from each other before looking over John’s camera laughing at the pictures. Their bodies pressed against each other, the both of them thinking the same thing.

Just kiss her.

They turned to look at each other a smile plastered on both of their faces as they looked into each other’s eyes; Her brown ones burning into his green making this situation even harder for the both of them. That was until her phone started to ring in her pocket.

You come for me in the worst of places. You come for me; you come and try to take me home.

Danielle already knew who it was from the set ringtone, Ryan Adams always meant Garrett to her. She pulled the phone out of her small shorts before placing it to her ear.

“Hey.”

Garrett couldn’t help but to smile at the sound of the girl’s voice on the other end of the line.

“When are you going to head over?”

“Right now”, she said with a smile looking up at John who looked a bit disappointed.

“See you then beautiful.”

“Of course handsome.”

Garrett’s heart skipped a bit and that smile on his face caused a pillow thrown to his face by his brother Trey, but Garrett didn’t care.

Danielle placed the phone back in her pocket before looking up at John who stared down at her disappointed that she was going to leave him.

“Hot date?”

“Something like that”, she said with a smile before getting closer to John’s body.

John looked down at the more confident girl and confusion was all that was found. He felt her chest being pressed against his as he stared down into her eyes. His breathing had become shallow and he was excited and a bit frightened at what was going to happen.
Danielle got a powerful fill of confidence the way John’s body squirmed as she got closer. She couldn’t help but to smirk as she licked her lips very slowly, she saw the hint of nervousness in John’s eyes. She leaned over lifting her hand up, as John stared down at her actions. Then Danielle grabbed her hat off of John’s head placing it on her own head.

“See you later JohnO.”

John couldn’t help but to feel his heart beat out of his chest as the girl turned around to walk in the opposite direction. He reached to the back of his neck scratching in confusion.
