Like Yesterday, Like Tomorrow

Forced into retirement due to an early onset of Alzheimer’s, Alan Fields, an ex-detective, reaches out to his estranged daughter, Mia, twelve years after the death of his wife and her mother. He interrupts Mia’s romantic getaway with her boyfriend by visiting Mia’s apartment one day and joining her to her boyfriend’s cabin. While there, Alan recounts the last case he took before his wife’s death, a murder-suicide that took place in the same cabin the two are staying in. As days pass, Alan comes to realize how mousy his daughter has become towards her apparently abusive boyfriend, and while he struggles to remember the case for Mia’s benefit, Mia finds herself associating herself with the woman who killed her boyfriend and then committed suicide.
