I'm a Teenage Girl Teaching at an All Boys School for Delinquents

First day

I took in a deep breath as I scanned over myself in the mirror. I had my extremely long brown hair tied up, because my hair was naturally dead straight, I felt no need to do anything special with it. I liked my hair the way it was. My light blue eyes sparkled in the dim lighting; I smoothed out my white top and tried to make it look a little smoother, i didn’t really have time to iron it. I looked at my jeans and shrugged, i wasn’t really into looking fancy without a need. Unlike most teachers at my old school, I wasn’t trying to look professional. I finally tore myself away from the mirror to look over at my 14 year old sister, she had her hair down and her makeup was already applied, I sighed at her. She groaned,

“What now?” She asked warily,

“I don’t think you should be wearing makeup at your age.” She raised her eyebrow,

“You told me you started at 13.” She corrected me,

“Well..” I tried, “That still doesn’t mean you can start.” She rolled her eyes,

“Whatever. I’ve already made myself breakfast. Go finish up and lets go.” I nodded, as I walked out of the room I realised something,

“I don’t think a 14 year old should be telling me what to do...” I murmured to myself, I shrugged, “Whatever.”
After i was done with my makeup I rushed out of the room, “I’m late I’m late I’m late!” I fretted, I saw Witney roll her eyes,

“I set you’re clocks 20 minutes ahead so you weren’t late.” I sighed,

“Why not 10? You almost had a heart attack to deal with Witney.” She rolled her eyes,

“Whatever. I see that you’re late on these clocks so just go.” I nodded. As i got my car keys i automatically started fretting over whether Witney could get to school.

“Yes yes and yes! Geez! What are you? My mother?” She asked while trying to push me out the door. I shrugged, I had long gotten over our parents death. I jumped as I heard a door open, I heard a familiar groan,

“What’s all this noise?!” I smiled as Joshua emerged from his apartment. He was in his mid twenties; he was a really close friend of mine, he really helped me out when my parents passed. His naturally messy blond hair was sticking up in weird places; his brown eyes looked glazed over. Usually a sign that he was tired, he wasn’t wearing a top, only pajama bottoms. His had strong arms and a feint 4 pack, his skin was a little tanned from time out in the sun. I blushed when I found myself checking him out. I let out a mental sigh of relief when he didn’t seem to notice. He smiled sleepily at me when he saw me emerging from my room with Witney pushing at my back, “Hm. So, the usual?”

“Actually,” I said flushing a little, “I got a new job.” Joshua raised his eyebrow,

“You got fired?” I laughed nervously,

“Well yea, but my school told me that a private school saw my results and now they want me to teach there.” Joshua rose an eyebrow but eventually sighed and shrugged,

“The worlds going to hell at the rate its going now.” I pursed my lips out of annoyance,

“What do you mean?”

“Hiring a 17 year old? That’s just wrong.” I laughed nervously, ‘Lets not forget it’s an all boys school for delinquents.’ I looked up and saw Joshua looking at me intently. I laughed loudly, trying to cover up the awkwardness,

“U-Uh yea, hey. Could you do me a favour?” Joshua’s mood instantly lifted,

“Anything for you my dear.” He bowed, trying to be formal but it just made me laugh. I stopped when i checked my watch,

“I don’t need to be driven Lexi!” Witney piped up, I shot her a glare,

“Yes you do. Josh, could you drive her to school?” He smiled and saluted,

“As you wish m’lady.” I giggled and said goodbye to both of them. They both wished me good luck and I rushed down the stairs to get to my car.
I jumped into my car and started it up, I let out a relieved sigh when the car started on the first try, what if it had been one of those horror days where the car wouldn’t start? Who knew what would happen. I sped out of the driveway and towards my new job. I jumped when a shrill sound filled the car, I relaxed when I realised it was just my phone. I grabbed it with one hand still on the wheel and answered it,

“Hello?” I answered wearily,

“Oh my gosh she answered!” I heard a rather exited male voice exclaim, I immediately new it was my friend David, I smiled a little, “Is it true?” He asked frantically, “Are you really leaving school to work in a school?” I was about to answer when there was a commotion on the other side of the phone. I furrowed my eyebrows, I heard protesting when another voice came on,

“If I were you, I would get as far away from school as possible! Not work in one! What are you thinking?!” I took in a deep breath and prepared to answer Sydney,

“Yes. It’s true ok. I’m working at Hathaway high.” It went silent on the other end,

“B-But... That’s an all boys school...” Ruth pointed out, I rolled my eyes,

“I know that, but I didn’t know it when i took the job.”

“So don’t go.” Sydney was now talking, I was about to answer but I realised something,

“Am i on loudspeaker?” I her a snort on the other end,

“And you’re the smart one.” I heard Ruth mock. I puckered my lips in annoyance but then remembered they couldn’t see me.

“Whatever. I have to go now, I’m almost there and I’m driving.”

“We should really hang up, you know how she drives.” David spoke as if i couldn’t hear him,

“Hey! I can still hear you! And I don’t drive that bad!”

“I didn’t say you where bad, you just drive like 100 over the speed limit.” I sighed,

“Ok, I got to go though.” I was about to hang up when I heard a frantic calling on the other end, “What?” I asked annoyed,

“If you see any gay guys that would be good for me, be sure to send me a picture ‘kay Lex?” David asked,

“Oh Oh me too me too! Just not gay, I like them all man.” Sydney pipped up,

“I am all man!” I heard David protest. I sighed,

“Fine guys, goodbye.” I don’t think they heard me because they didn’t stop arguing. I shrugged and hung up. I smiled at my friends frantic attitude, my smile faded when I saw Hathaway high approaching.
I pulled into the staff parking. I switched the car off but didn’t get out of the car, my limbs wouldn’t respond. I tried to calm myself, I took in some deep breaths though it didn’t really work. I jumped when a knocking sound came from outside, I looked outside the window to see a middle aged man smiling at me from outside. I smiled back and wound down the window,

“U-Uh yes?” I asked. He chuckled,

“Um, are you goin’ to get outa’ your car?” I felt my face going hot,

“Oh! Uh, yea!” I quickly wound up the window and jumped out of the car, I turned and locked it. When I turned back around, the man was looking me over. I played with my fingers nervously, “Uh, is there something wrong sir?” He looked back up to my face,

“Well, for one, this is an all boys school. Second, you’re too young to be a teacher yet you’re parking in the staff parking.” He looked at me sternly, “What is your business young lady? It’s not safe for you to be here alone.” I looked at the ground and shuffled my feet,

“I’m a uh... I’m the new teacher...” He looked at me surprised for a second,

“A new teacher? I just said you’re too young. Do not lie to me young lady.” I kept my head down. I heard him sigh, “Whatever. Come on.” I looked up to see the man holding a door open that led into a large building, I smiled warmly at him,

“Thank you.” He nodded, I raced up the steps and into the building, there were a few students walking around. The all stopped and stared at me, I decided to make a good first impression so I held my head high. I felt myself get extremely self-conscious all of a sudden. I swallowed but smiled when I saw a middle aged man walking my way. I looked to my right to thank the man who brought me in but he was nowhere to be seen, ‘I’ve been walking alone all this time?!’ I ignored my thought and continued to smile at the man. He approached me with a smile just as warm as mine,

“Ah! You must be the new music teacher,” I heard a few soft gasps from behind me but I didn’t turn around, “Please. Follow me.” The man ushered me forward towards his office.
When I was in his rather small office, I sat down on a chair and waited for him to sit down too. When he did he just smiled at me,

“S-So is there anything I should know?” He laughed,

“You’re not going to get anywhere with these students if you’re going to stammer like that.” I swallowed,

“Uh, sorry. I’ll try not to do that then?” He chuckled,

“Don’t worry. They probably won’t talk back to you anyway.”

“Why is that?”

“Because you’re a girl. There are no girls at this school. They'll be to busy admiring you.”

“O-Oh. I forgot...” He sighed,

“If it gets too hard for just let me know and-“

“No no no It’s ok! I’ll do the job. Uh, what periods do I have classes?” He smiled at me again,

“You have 2nd, 4th and 5th. The spaces between will be for preparation. Like tuning of the guitars and such. When you get the hang of it I might give you some more.” I smiled,

“Thank you. Um, may I ask how much I get paid?” He chuckled,

“Of course. $250.” I felt my jaw drop slightly,

“T-Two hundred and fifty dollars!?” He shrugged,

“It’s a good school.” I nodded, I jumped when I heard the bell ring. I looked up and saw the man wink at me, “Welcome to Hathaway High Miss Loft.” I sighed,

“I’m not going to like being called that name.”
