Chapter 8 Boyfriend

I sat down on the couch and began to think for a while.
"Say Spade, you said that you don't hang around here much."
"Yeah, so?"

I sat down on the couch and began to think for a while.
"Say Spade, you said that you don't hang around here much."
"Yeah, so?"
I sighed then said, "Why are you here then?"
He came around the back of the couch and said, "Because you are and I don't want you to get lonely." I blushed a deep crimson color. He sat down next to me and asked "Carm? We've known each other for a while now... what do you think of me?"
I looked at him not knowing exactly what to say. I thought 'Oh sweet lord, am I dreaming? Could he possibly ask me to be his girlfriend?' then said honestly "I don't know where this is getting us but... I think that your a great guy, not just in looks... I know you care deeply for me, and I you... your smart, funny, and I think that the world would end without you." He blushed, which is rare. I saw him completely flustered trying to take in everything I had just said.
"Uh, I... " He stammered and took a deep breath. "I think you are a wonderfully beautifully smart damphier whom outsmarts the best of the best... I do think the world of you... I really really like you, as in l-o-v-e you" Now it was my turn to be flustered, I blushed so deeply that my face felt as hot as a burning building.
"Carm, I think we should date, Shina and Kyla keep telling me to make the move but I think it's up to you."
I just sat there freaking out in my mind. Eventually Spade got up and left, but not until after he squeezed my shoulder. I grabbed my cell after hearing the front door slam shut and looked at the time. 9:30PM, "Holy Crap it's this late already? Shit!" I got up and darted for the kitchen. When I got there I called Shina and Kyla, then put them on speaker phone. Not the first time I'd been late for making myself dinner.
"Yeah?" Shina and Kyla said in the same millisecond.
"You two won't believe what I have just been through."
"Which would be?" Shina asked, I sense a slight smile in hearing her question.
"Spade just asked me to be his girlfriend, he said it was up to me, but I don't know how to answer!" I blurted, while trimming some steaks.
"Woah, okay, put down the knife and tell us everything that went down."
"Surrrrrre, after these begin cooking" I said rolling my eyes. The fisssss from the steaks touching the hot frying pan could be heard easily. I grabbed my phone and took it off of speaker phone then explained what all had happened.
"I'd have said yes Spade I'd love to be your girlfriend, but then again I'd say that to any hot guy that came my way" Shina proclaimed happily.
I could tell Kyla rolled her eyes at the same moment I did.
"I just don't know what to say, or how to answer him," I said depressingly.
"Do it. You are you, you do what you want to do." Kyla said as I flipped my steaks.
I sighed. "I just don't know what to do." I began to reach for the cupboard for the plates when I heard the doorbell. "Shit, I wasn't expecting company"
"We'll talk to you tomorrow at school, okay Carm?" Kyla asked.
"Sure" I sighed and closed my phone. I pulled the steaks off the pan then went to answer the door.
"Who are you" I asked in a sort of annoyed tone when I answered the door.
"I could say the same to you missy, this is my house after all." The guy on the other side of the doorway said.
"This house now belongs to me, given to me as a present," I informed him.
"This house is supposed to be in the care of my wife, son and daughter. Not some little damphier who thinks the world is hers."
"The world isn't mine, and if you mean Spade and Miss Ivy well, Spade is right behind you ready to attack." I nonchalantly said looking at Spade who was shaking with rage. At which point he spun around and exclaimed, "Son, how are you, and what are you doing with this half assed piece of trash?"
I flexed my fists and smirked. "I've got dinner to attend to. So if you are done with the insults sir. I'd like to eat, oh and, uh, this piece of trash as you put it, knows how to kick your ass."
Spade looked at me then nodded as his dad whirled around to go after my throat. I grabbed his arms and broke them, being fully aware that he was about to lose control of his wolf. I threw him to the end of the hallway. Spade came up behind me and said, "Go, tend to your dinner, my mom is on her way, so is your dad."

"Carmen?" I jumped at hearing Spade's voice from behind me.
"Yeah? What's up?"
"Sorry about my dad... I didn't realize he'd come here..." he trailed off.
"Our parents gone?" He nodded.
"I don't want to go fast, but I would like to be your girlfriend" I confessed. I felt him tense up then relax.
"I'm glad... you know, Shina and Kyla are going to want the scoop. Right?"
"I already knew that, silly" I said with a smile tugging at my lips. I stood up and went towards the living room. I was grabbed around the waist as I was passing Spade.
I blushed and exclaimed, "What part of I don't want to go too fast wasn't understood?" He looked up at the ceiling.
"None of it," a smile teased at his lips and he kissed me on the forehead, then he released me. "Go to bed, don't want to be late for school do you? It's already 10:45"
I sighed then went straight to bed with a smile.
