The Devil's Pawn

Ch. 26

The closet door shut, sealing us in complete darkness.

Trenton pushed me against the back wall roughly. It was cold against my skin, but a
kind of cold I lived for. I tilted my head back as he pressed his lips to my neck. His teeth
scraped down the side roughly as he nibbled. My body shuddered from the feeling.

It was hot.

It was sexy.

It was dangerous.

I let out a small gasp as he bit down on my neck.

One of my arms was wrapped around his back, fingernails digging into his skin. The
other fiddling with his belt buckle. It seemed like they had a mind of their own. But I wasn’t
complaining.

His lips moved around my neck, never leaving. One hand slipped underneath my shirt,
slightly tickling me as he moved it up my shirt to just underneath my bra. He rubbed his
thumb gently on the padding as his fingers slid to my back and overtop of the hook.

Swiftly, my bra fell apart in his hands.

I let out a small giggle, pulling on his belt buckle until I could feel him pressed against
me. Trenton’s lips pulled into a smirk against my skin.

He forced a leg between my own, pressing his thigh against my privates. There wasn’t a
doubt in my mind he could feel me on him. My breathing started to quicken as he moved his
hand to cup my breast completely. I could feel my eye lids flutter close. His thumb flicked my
nipple, pinching softly. A whimper fell from my lips.

He chuckled deeply.

“Taylor,” He whispered, squeezing tightly on my breast. I gasped from pain, but I didn’t
want him to stop.

Trenton’s hand massaged my breast slowly while his other moved the opposite side of
my shirt up inch by inch. He pulled it over my head, throwing it against the door to the closet.
It slid onto the ground in a heap.

Trenton pressed his other hand against my free breast, mimicking what his right was
doing. He tilted his head down, taking one between his lips. He tongue tangoed with my
already hardened nipple. His teeth grazed by slowly, stopping just on the very end to bit
gently.

I was panting now.

I didn’t take my time stripping him of his shirt. Trenton threw his back where mine was
swiftly. My fingers moved to take one of his nipples in each hand. I twisted sharply earning a
groan from him. His grip on my tightened.

Just as quickly, my hands slid down as abdominal to his belt buckle. I tugged it off, as
he shrugged out of his pants.

Trenton pulled his leg back only to slip a hand up my skirt. He pulled my panties down
to my knees with one hand, slipping a finger into me with the other.

“Oh, Trenton,” I whispered. One hand was curled around his upper arm tightly. I raked
the other down his chest slowly, teasingly poking a finger inside the edge of his boxers.

“You’re such a tease.” He groaned, pulling out of me.

And then I woke up.

~*~

My mind was mostly preoccupied that morning with reflections of my dream. This was the second time I had had such an intimidate dream about Trenton. There had to be a psychological reasoning behind this, but I hadn’t the slightest idea of what.

Erica took advantage of my silence, chatting away about whatever pleased her. I tried to
tune in, but my thoughts overrode her words. She didn’t seem to care as much.

As we walked down the hallway to lunch, I took notice that her stride was filled with my
annoyance. She must’ve been ranting to me. Guilt plagued me that I hadn’t been listening to
her like a good friend, but she would’ve noticed by now.

“You’re such a tease.”

Was I really a tease?

I bit my lip, unsure if that was a good or a bad thing.

“Taylor!” Erica flicked the back of my head.

I turned towards her with wide eyes. “What?”

“Get your damn food, let’s go. We’re holding up the line.” She rolled her eyes, moving
down the lunch line.

I glanced around, noticing just where we were. My thoughts had fogged up my mind so
much that I hadn’t realized we were in line. Quickly, I grabbed a pizza and a drink, heading off
to the cash registers to pay.

Erica was already sitting at the table when I arrived. We were the first two there. She sat
across from me, propping her feet up on the empty spot next to me. I took a small bite out of
my pizza, chewing slowly.

“But what should I do?” Erica asked, pouting slightly.

“Huh?” I frowned, feeling a wave of guilt wash over me. Maybe I should’ve been listening
to her earlier. I hadn’t the slightest idea the answer to her question, or what the question
was about. I took another bite to stall.

“Fits has just been… I don’t know, he’s different.” She shrugged solemnly. “We’ve
always had a weird relationship, you know that, but it’s…”

I nodded, pretending to have a full mouth.

She continued.

I forced myself to listen.

“Don’t tell him any of what I’ve said today. I’d feel horrible. I just… I know this sounds
kind of stupid, but I wish he’d just ask me to be his girlfriend or something instead of his
booty call.”

“I know how you feel.” I mumbled, staring at my food.

“With Trenton?” She snorted, rolling her eyes, “Please, Taylor. That’s nowhere near the
same thing as me and Fits.”

I shrugged, “It’s as close as I can get.”

“I appreciate it.” She said softly, “Here they come. So shut up, and never speak of this
while they’re around.”

I smiled, nodding, “You’ve got it.”

She sat upright, planting her feet on the ground quickly.

A tray was placed next to me, a body sliding into the space where Erica’s feet had been
previously.

“Hey,” I nudged him with my leg as Tanner and Fits took a seat on either side of Erica.
She shot me a look of silence. I nodded discreetly.

“Damn, I forgot a drink. Thanks, Sweet Cheeks.” Trenton reached over, grabbing the
water bottle on my tray. I opened my mouth to object when he pressed his lips against my
cheek quickly. My face heated up, and I closed my mouth in embarrassment.

“Anytime.” I mumbled.

He squeezed my thigh affectionately.

“Did you guys see the sub for Heckerman’s English?” Tanner asked, turning so that he
could see Fits and Trenton.

“No, what’s up with him?” Fits asked, shoving a fork full of beans into his mouth.

“First off, it’s a her.” Tanner grinned smugly, “And she’s hot as fucking hell!”

The three boys grinned while Erica and I exchanged a look.

“Can we maybe not talking about other women while Taylor and I are around?” Erica
asked angrily.

“Sorry,” Tanner smiled innocently, giving her an awkward one armed hug. She fell into
his side uncomfortably.

Thankfully, a student council member chose that moment to approach our table with a
flyer for prom.

“Hey guys, what’s up?” He asked, not waiting for an answer, “I’m just stopping by to
remind you prom is approaching soon and there is only a limited supply of tickets. So I’ll just
leave this here…” He dropped a few pieces of paper on the edge of the table, “And I hope to
see you guys on Prom night! It’ll be sick.”

He put two thumbs up before walking away to another table to repeat the process all
over again. Erica reached over, grabbing one of the papers. I did the same, holding it
between Trenton and myself to read it.

Erica finished first, looking up at us, “You guys going?”

I ducked my face into Trenton’s side shyly, “Yeah, hopefully.”

Trenton wrapped an arm around my shoulders, pulling me to him more. “Hell yeah, you
know what happens prom night.”

“Shut up!” I nudged him with my elbow.

The boys laughed while Erica gave me a knowing look. Apparently everyone knew what
was going to happen that evening.

“Are you going Erica?” Trenton asked.

She shrugged, “If I get asked…”

She sighed dramatically, leaning on Fits’ shoulder. He wrapped an arm around her
waist, but otherwise seemed oblivious to her motion.

Now that I was looking for it, I was noticing this more.

My eyes moved over to Tanner’s holding his gaze for a moment. He flickered back to
Erica quickly.

“I think Prom’s a load of shit.” Fits shrugged his shoulders.

“Why?” Trenton laughed.

“A bunch of kids grinding on each other and ending up fucking each other. Sounds like a
party, but without any liquor.”

“And you have to pay for it.” Erica added.

He laughed, nodding in agreement, “Yeah, exactly.”

“That’s not the point!” I argued, “The whole thing is to have one night to feel completely
special. It’s like the last event of being a teenager.”

“I’d rather get stoned…” Tanner mumbled.

“Tanner!” I frowned at him, “You can do that any other day. You don’t get dressed up and
prepped up like you do for prom all the time!”

“So? It’s a lot of work for a few hours…” Fits added.

I groaned with frustration, “You don’t get it… It’s the memories you’re making.”

Tanner snorted, “That’s so gay.”

I rolled my eyes, “You guys just don’t understand.”

Trenton chuckled in my ear softly. I turned my head to face him with an accusing look in
my eyes.

“What’re you laughing about?”

“You.”

I opened my mouth, when he cut me off.

“You looked so cute all upset over something so tiny.” He knew that would shut me up.
He smirked smugly at the end.

Fits laughed, “Trenton, you’re so fucking whipped.”

His body tensed around me, “I’m not fucking whipped.”

“Yeah, bro, you are.”

“Guys, shut up.” Erica rolled her eyes, grabbing the attention of the table once again.
After a moment of silence, she smiled, “That’s better.”

I giggled, finished off my pizza.

I drank the last half of my drink, earning a groan from Trenton as he was stuck with
nothing to drink.

I smiled gently at him.

Trenton rolled his eyes at me, turning to talk to Fits about something insignificant to me. Erica and I engaged into another conversation with Tanner adding every now and then.

~*~

“Wear a skirt tomorrow.” Trenton said as we walked out of Spanish.

“Why?”

“So I can finger you in the middle of class.”

“Trenton!”

He chuckled, shaking his head, “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.”

I rolled my eyes, smiling softly, “I’d love to wear a skirt, but now that my mother drives
me to school, I can’t. She sees everything I wear.”

He pouted.

“Sorry, Trent.”

“I’m just messing you with.” He laughed. Trenton pulled me to a stop in front of the exits.
He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close. His lips gently found mine. I curled
my fingers around his upper arms gently.

“Bye, Taylor.” He whispered against my lips

“Bye.” I pulled back, heading for the door.

I walked out first.

This was the normal routine for us.

My feet led the way out to the back of the parking lot where my mother would be waiting.
My pocket vibrated furiously, stopping me in my tracks. I pulled out my phone, and pressed it
to my ear quickly.

“Hello?”

“It’s Sam.”

I froze in my spot, “What do you want?”

“Can we talk?”

“No.”

“Come on, Taylor. Please talk to me.”

“Now’s not a good time…”

“I know school just let out. I can see you.”

I turned my head towards the side of the school where we normally met. Sure enough,
the familiar blonde stood leaning against the side of the school. She had her phone
pressed against her ear, waving softly.

I swallowed dryly, “Go into the school. We’ll talk there.”

She nodded, hanging up.

I ended the call on my own phone, calling my mother.

She picked up after two rings.

“Hello, Taylor.”

“I need to stay after for a few minutes.”

“Why?”

“I need to ask my teacher to explain this prompt we got in History class…” I lied smoothly. “It won’t take long.”

“Alright. Hurry.” She seemed on edge, but I let it go.

“Thanks, bye.”

I didn’t give her a chance to say goodbye before I hung up. Quickly, I turned around,
heading back into the school. I could see Sam walking into the school ahead of me, a little
unsure of her steps. I ducked my head down so as to avoid watchful eyes.

Once through the doors, the hallway cleared up considerably. Many people still lingered
at their lockers, but it was much easier to walk through. I grabbed Sam’s elbow, tugging her
along to the girl’s bathroom at the opposite end of the doors.

She didn’t say anything as I threw the door open, roughly pulling her in. I checked each
stall before locking the door for privacy.

I leaned against the sink, crossing my arms.

Sam looked around uncomfortably before standing in front of me. She kept her distance,
though.

“Talk.”

She raised an eyebrow, but pushed it over, taking a deep breath, “What you saw the
other night… It was a mistake.”

I kept myself neutral and silent.

Sam waited a moment to see if I would comment before continuing, “I was upset that
you had canceled on our date and… I thought… You know I love you more than I could ever
love anyone else, Taylor.”

“Do I?”

Sam looked at me pleadingly, “It was a rash decision. You’ve never had a problem with
me messing around with guys before. I told you why I do that!”

“Oh really? Because I can’t seem to remember a good enough reason for you to cheat
on your girlfriend!”

“Taylor, you never let me do anything with you. I… I needed something to get me off. I
swear to God, anytime something happened, I was always wishing it was you instead.”

“Wishing isn’t enough.”

She sighed, putting her hands on her hips. She was silent for a moment. I didn’t move
from my position at all. Sam looked up, holding my eyes, “I made a mistake. Everyone
makes mistakes. Can you please forgive me?”

“No.”

“Why the hell not?” She didn’t sound angry. She sounded hurt.

I had to keep my tough façade going. “I can’t just forgive you for cheating on me. It wasn’t
even one time. They told me you had been dating Tanner for nearly a year!”

“And how long were we dating? Two years! Two years, Taylor!”

“And for half of that you were dating someone else? Did you tell him you loved him too? I
can’t blame Tanner. He didn’t know.” I shook my head softly, staring at her in disbelief, “But
you were fully aware.”

“Taylor…”

I sucked in a deep breath, starting myself up. I was done with this useless conversation,
“Save it, Sam. We’re done. For good. I don’t want anything to do with you. I don’t care if you
date Tanner. Just stay the fuck away from me.”

Sam’s eyes widened slightly, “What’s happened to you?”

“What do you think?” I snapped sarcastically.

“You’re not the same girl, Taylor…”

“I grew a backbone.”

Sam’s face seemed to sink.

I back off the back of the sink, heading towards the door when Sam grabbed my
shoulder, spinning me around. She cupped her hands around my cheeks, pulling my head
towards hers desperately. Her eyes searched mine earnestly.

Sam pressed her lips roughly against mine. I could taste mint mixed with cherry lipstick
as she moved her lips against my frozen ones. I fought to pull back, but she held my head in
place tightly. Sam ran her tongue over my lips, trying to get some reaction out of me. I balled
my hands into fists, staying still.

She pulled back, “Taylor…”

“Don’t touch me again.” I hissed. Sharply pulling her hands off of me, I turned on my
heel and quickly made my way out of the bathroom, leaving my ex-girlfriend behind me.

As I made my way out of the school, I wiped my lips with the back of my hand. The taste
I once longed for now disgusted me.

I walked out of the school on top of the world.
