Loony Bin

No one believes me.
They think I’m making it up when I tell them what my father did.
They all say he was innocent.
If he was innocent I wouldn’t have killed him,
he would be still alive,
watching me turn crazy.

“He never touched you.”
Kelly the therapist tells me.
She thinks she’s so smart,
She’s been to college,
She’s studied things about psychology.
She doesn’t know shit.

“You lie.”
She dismisses me.

“Your mother was there with you whenever you and your dad were together.
Your father has never hurt you.”
Ms. Rose, the group leader tries to convince me.
She thinks she’s so smart,

I sit with George and Tucker in the cafeteria.
I tell them about Ms. Rose and Kelly.
George agrees that they’re stupid,
Tucker thinks they’re just trying to help.

I explain to them about my father.

Tucker was going to reply,
“Your father didn’t abuse you.”
George beats him to it.

He thinks he’s so smart.
He’s been in worse situations than me.
He’s killed more than me.
He thinks he knows more than me.
He doesn’t know shit.
