I have never been to a mental hospital nor do I have any of the mental illnesses portrayed in the story, or at least to the extent illustrated. What I have written is what I have seen in movies/shows and have read in novels. I really wish I had done research for this story, but when I get right down to it, I'm a bit too lazy to do that. Plus, I really do like to use my imagination and write things the way I see it in my mind. Furthermore, I do not give an actual time setting in the story, and I think if I were to use all the proper rules and such in the story as they are in mental hospitals today, it would take away the anonymous time period.
