Always.

I’ll be your levy.

Of course it wasn't surprising to find that Natalie was already on her way to my house when I called her the next morning. So, I grabbed my bag and keys and ran out of my house but not before my wonderful, lovely, mom stopped me. Hint the sarcasm.

"Where are you heading?"

"Saturday class mom." I was so good at lying now that I believed I was going to class myself.

"Be home by 5."

"Mom, it's Saturday."

"So? We have a dinner party to attend."

I rolled my eyes and walked out of the house.

"I'll drive." Natalie said from her driver side window.

I laughed and got in her car.

I told her the address and we headed in that direction and she was all giddy about seeing them again and I was amused at her giddiness. Of course, we got lost it's how we roll.

"Natalie I'm telling you we have already been down this road." I stated looking around.

"No we have not."

"Dude! There is the same dog!" I said as my phone rang.

I didn't recognize the number so I picked up normally, "hello?"

"You know usually when someone sets a time they are there on that time." Brendon. It had to be.

"Oh really? Didn't know that. If my friend wasn't directionally challenged we would be there. But! No one listens to me."

"Oh now I don't believe that." He said and I knew he was smiling his sarcastic smile even though I couldn't see him.

"We will be there soon."

"What road are you on?"

"Um" I looked around the road, "Woodlow Avenue."

"Look. It's the street over." He said laughing.

"I hate you."

"Of course. See you in a minute."

"Yeah, yeah bye." I said hanging up the phone.

Sure enough we got there in less than 5 minutes. She parked and I hopped out feeling light headed from her horrible driving. Never again!

"Finally!" Ryan said as he leaned against the wall of the building with Brendon.

"Dude. I am feeling very car sick right now." I said holding my stomach.

"Well maybe you should have drove." Natalie said crossing her arms.

"You were all, oh I'll drive! Hehe panic at the disco hehe!" I said moaning. Ryan laughed and Natalie turned red.

"Do you not 'hehe' when you see us?" Brendon asked amused.

"Sorry to disappoint." I said as he held the door open for us.

He laughed as we all walked into the studio.

"Music time." Ryan said putting his hands together.

"Yay." I said sitting down in the chair and spinning around.

"Oh your enthusiasm makes me so happy." Brendon said with a smile.

"Oh, I am so glad. I can now die happy. I made Brendon, lead singer of panic happy!" I said and he laughed.

"My last names Urie."

"Thanks now I can google you.yesss." I said doing a fist pump.

He laughed and Ryan sat next to me, "awe. Can we keep you?"

"Sure! Why not!" I said shrugging.

Brendon laughed, "ok. Seriously music. Listen." He said pressing a button.

We listened to a few songs and it was a lot different than from what they sang last night.

"I like this better than the other stuff."

"Geez thanks." Brendon said with a smile and I laughed, "I'm just saying. This is more my taste."

"Mhm. I like you more." Ryan said hugging me from the side.

I laughed, "well thanks. So this should be easier than I thought. I have ideas already."

"I knew you'd be amazing." Ryan said confidently.

"Wait?! That I would be? I am!"

Brendon laughed, "oh, how I saw that coming."

"Oh, aren't you so smart."

"Well, lets get out of here. I'm bored."

"Where to?" I asked following his lead and standing up as well.

"Oh. There is a park a block away! Ice cream?" Ryan asked like a child.

"Sure kid." I said laughing.

We walked out and were laughing all the way. It felt nice to be with them. It felt natural. They were so calm and fun. And child-like which for some reason I liked. We walked over to the ice cream stand which we had to wait in line.

"And what kind of ice cream do you like?" Brendon asked bringing me back to reality.

"Cookie dough ."

"Me too." He said smiling and of course I couldn't help but smile. His smile was contagious! We got our ice cream and Brendon insisted on paying for ours. Then Ryan chased Natalie to the swings and I heard them screaming the whole way.

I laughed as me and Brendon walked slowly into the park.

"How old is Ryan?" I asked and he smiled, "oh! 22."

I laughed along with him.

"I love him." I said watching him push her on the swing.

"Ha, why?"

"He's so....care free. I don't know."

"And you aren't?" he asked as I sat down in the grass placing my back against a tree. He sat down next to me in the same way.

I laughed, "impossible to be."

"No. I think you are. Even though you are trapped in your family life you laugh a lot." He said watching me as I licked ice cream off my finger.

I laughed, "Well, I tend to be a happy person."

He smiled, "not a bad thing."

"Maybe not. But now I always act that way even when I'm not."

"So it's a front?"

I laughed, "a lot of it has to be don't you think?"

"No. I think you are happy right now."

"I am." I said smiling.

"It's not a bad thing to show people your other emotions." He said staring at me.

"Well, I like to keep people happy." I said laughing.

"Well, what about yourself?"

"I adjust." I said trying to keep this conversation to a minimum I was starting to feel vulnerable and it was scaring me.

He sighed, "Ems. Look, I know how it is to try to keep everyone happy I mean I'm a musician for gods sake but sometimes you need to stop thinking of others and worry about yourself."

"I can handle it. So I don't need a lecture." I said getting a little angry.

"I'm not trying to lecture you Emma I'm just saying I know how it is and it's stressful and hard and sometimes you just want one person to see the real you to see how upset or hurt you are at that moment so at least someone knows you are human." He said and I felt his eyes on me even though I was looking at the grass.

"On a serious note..." he began speaking again.

"That wasn't a serious note oh I can't wait to hear this!" I said and he smiled at me, "true but seriously, if you ever need to talk about things or just to vent. Call me. You know I can actually listen pretty well. And don't worry, I won't tell anyone any emotion you show." He said smiling and I couldn't help but smile. God. Something about him that made me trust him so easily.

"So I hope this means we are friends now." He said and I laughed, "oh sure. Why not."

"Great." He said smiling and getting up from the grass. He held his hand out to me and I grabbed it as I got up.

"Where are our children?" I asked as we walked to a trash can to throw our stuff away.

He laughed, "awe honey. You were watching them!" he said trying not to smile as he put his hand on his hip.

"Oh no!" I said shocked and then we both busted out laughing.

"You know, Natalie thinks you are the hottest member of them all." I said as we walked around trying to find her and Ryan.

He laughed, "well of course. Who wouldn't."

"Me." I said sticking my tongue out at him.

"Hey!" he said poking my side.

I laughed, "kidding."

"Do you even like boys?" he asked clearly joking because of the smile on his face.

"Duh."

"Then please tell me who's worthy of your love." He said laughing.

"I haven't figured that out yet. Unless, the guy from Cobra Starship or Taylor Lautner comes in and ask me to marry him."

"No you didn't just say that." He asked laughing.

"I'm afraid I did. Its our first secret lets see if you can keep it." I said jokingly.

"Oh in that case! My lips are sealed darling."I laughed, I liked him. I judged too quickly.

"Found them." I said pointing to a merry go round.

"honey, our children are safe!" he said dramatically as he ran to them. I laughed as I ran behind him coming to a halt at the merry go round.

"Ryan. If you ever run off like that again you're grounded." Brendon said crossing his arms and Ryan looked at him blankly.

"Don't you dare talk to our son like that. Momma loves you pumpkin." I said hugging Ryan who seemed confused but hugged me back. Brendon was now it a fit of laughter along with Natalie because I stole that line from a movie we saw together.

"What the hell is going on?" Ryan asked confused as he pulled away from me.

"Nothing just being silly."

"Awe. That's so cute. I never heard someone say that." Brendon said smiling.

"Silly?"

"Yes I've heard the word but people don't say it in sentences."

"Oh? Well, I'm cool like that."

"Maybe." He said as he put his arm on my shoulder.

"Oh crap! What time is it?" I asked frantically.

"4 why?" he asked a bit taken aback.

"No. I have to get home like now."

"Why?" Brendon asked as I moved from his arm.

"I have to be there at 5. Some gathering at like 6. I don't know." I said as I walked quickly out of the park.

"Emmy." He said calmly behind me.

"Emma..." He said catching up with me grabbing my wrist causing me to stop.

"Breathe." He said in front of me now his hands on my shoulder.

"You don't understand. There isn't time for that." I said.

"Your mom will live if you are late."

"No, you don't get it." I said laughing as I walked past him. Natalie was already a head of me she understood. We arrived at Natalie's car quickly and she was in before I reached it.

"Uh, guys..." she said with a look that I didn't like.

"What?" I asked as she got out of her car.

"Mhm. My car won't start."

"Don't say that." I said dramatically as I covered my face.

"My life's over." I mumbled.

"Ry, do you guys have a car?"

He shook his head no, "we usually take a taxi here because there's never anywhere to park."

"I'm going to cry." I said breathing heavily.

"Sweetie, it will be ok. Call your mom and explain." Brendon said softly as he rubbed my arm.

"It isn't that simple."

"Call your dad." Natalie said and I nodded and pulled my phone out of my pocket.

"Daddy..." I said when he answered.

"What's wrong?"

"Look, I went somewhere with Natalie her car won't start I don't know if I can make it but mom will be mad and I told her I was at a class and I'm not..."

"Honey, breathe. It will be okay. I'll handle it." He said and I felt better, "thanks."

"Ill see you tonight."

"Ok bye."

I hung up and Natalie looked at me waiting.

"He said he will handle it."

"When does he leave again?" she asked concerned.

"Tomorrow." I said softly. My dad traveled a lot for his job he was rarely home and when he was my life was easier.

"Oh god."

"Wait. I don't understand. So fill me in." Brendon said confused.

"So we like dad not mom?" Ryan asked. I nodded not really wanting to talk about it.

"I'll call someone to come jump you off." Ryan said getting the hint.

"Oh I have a number but you call." Natalie said and Ryan laughed but walked over to her.

"You ok?" Brendon asked once we were alone. I nodded looking straight ahead.

"Hey." He said grabbing my arm softly and I looked at him.

"Stop it." He whispered.

"Stop what?" I said holding back tears I wanted to come out.

"holding it in what you're feeling." I rolled my eyes and kept my arms crossed.

"Why are you so afraid of her?" he asked boldly.

"Just drop it." I said holding my composure as best as I could.

"Has she hurt you?" he demanded as he now stood in front of me so I couldn't ignore him.

"You do not know what goes on so please stop it." I said feeling myself break under this pressure. Come on Emma you're tougher than this. He doesn't really know you.

"So I got Spencer to come up here." Ryan said interrupting our conversation. Thank god!

"Great." I said smiling and Brendon sighed as he backed away. Spencer finally arrived and we got the car to start.

"So, I hope we see you guys sooner than later." Ryan said smiling and I laughed, "you will promise."

He smiled his cute smile, "great."

"Bye." I said grabbing Brendon's shirt to get his attention.

"Bye." He said with a fake smile.

I got in the car and I finally arrived home at about 5:30.My parents were already gone so I was relieved that I could put that drama off for a while. I headed to my room and shortly fell asleep. I can only imagine what's going to happen when my mother comes home...
