The Darkness Within

Twelve: The Truth Always Comes Out

~Locklyn’s Pov~
I was sobbing. I hated letting my emotions get the best of me. But with him, it was too easy for them to get the best of me. I was trying to breathe and wipe a few tears off my tear stained cheek when Harry and Ginny walked in.
Ginny sped walked to my side and sat down next to me. She wrapped her arms around me and Harry stood next to one of the stalls with his arms crossed. Harry shouted,” Why do you let him get to you!?” I understood why Harry asked that. I did let him get the best of me a lot. But what I didn’t understand is how I fell in love with Draco and how I could just let him treat me like crap constantly. Realizing all this made me cry harder. Ginny sat there with her arms around my body which was curled into a ball. I couldn’t even answer Harry’s question. It was all too much to bear.
Ginny had to leave for her last class so Harry and I went outside to get some fresh air. We sat on the edge of the forest in silence. I started to talk Parseltongue and tiny garden snakes would come up and slither in front of us. Harry excused himself once it was getting close to curfew.
After fifteen minutes I got up and started walking back to the school when I saw someone in a black coat running into the forest. Curious, I quietly followed the mysterious person. When the person ran into the forbidden forest I slowed down, not know whether to keep following. I looked back at the school and shrugged, Once again following the caped person.
The forest was very dark. Occasionally a bright star would make a dim spotlight on the forest floor, but other than that, the forest was hard to maneuver through. Finally the strange individual stopped running. He looked around real quick to see if anyone was there. I hid in the shadows, quickly putting up my black hood.
When the being thought for sure no one followed him, he flipped off his hood. I focus my eyes on….. Draco. I was even more curious to why he was out here all alone. Then a dark thought went through my mind. I could attack him right now. No one would know. He hurt me bad. Just do it. I know a whole bunch of dark spells…
I shook the thoughts out of my mind. I knew where those thought were coming from and I had to silently remind myself to remember that I was not like my father. I kept my eyes glued on Draco’s every move. He pulled up his sleeve to reveal the dark mark. That must have been new! I mean I had heard gossip about him becoming a death eater over Christmas break but I thought the rumor was false.
I saw him press his wand to the dark mark and someone apparated next to him. He turned to Bellatrix. I crouched down lower onto the ground to avoid being seen.
Bellatrix sneered,” What have you called me here for Draco?”
Draco replied,” I think Locklyn needs to see her father. She is drifting farther away from becoming one of us.”
Bellatrix laughed,” Please, if she chooses to be on the good side, we’ll just kill her to in the end!”
Draco gulped and looked my way for a second. I quickly hid behind a tree to evade his stare. He looked back up at Bellatrix.
Bellatrix stated,” Soon my lord will have an important task for you, keep that in mind. I’ll let slip that my lord’s daughter is here at Hogwarts. Severus won’t be too happy but Voldemort needs to know now.”
And with that, Bellatrix disappeared. I knew I had to get out of there before Draco saw me, so I got up and just ran, hoping he didn’t hear my footsteps.
I was sitting by the fire place in the Slytherin common room when he walked in. He slouched in the couch across the room from me, obviously out of breath from running back to the school. I watched him out of the corner of my eye. He was dozing off. I walked up to his arm, which was draped on the wooden table right next to the couch, and stared at him for a few seconds before stabbing the knife into the table.
He jumped up abruptly, but was soon stopped when his sleeve pulled Him back. He looked at me with scared eyes. I quickly grabbed the knife again and pulled it out of the table. Before he could get up I snatched his arm and pulled up his sleeve to reveal what I saw not too long ago. He looked at the dark mark on his arm then to me. I thought of an idea. I was going to mess with him.
I smiled evilly and whispered,” Looks like both of us having been keeping secrets...” As I was about to walk away I touched my clothed forearm and winked. His jaw dropped in confusion as I walked into the girl’s dormitory.

In the morning I left the Slytherin quarters earlier than anyone to go find Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Since I was a part of The Order of The Phoenix, I knew it was crucial to let them know about a new death eater.
I ran to the hallway by the Gryffindor common entrance.

~Draco’s POV~
I tossed and turned all night wondering what that wink and motion towards Locklyn’s forearm was about. Could it be possible she is a new death eater like me? But how could I have not known? I know that she is close to Snape so it’s possible. I shot out of bed to try and find Locklyn.
I got to the Slytherin table and asked around,” Has anyone seen Locklyn?
Crab answered,” Course not. She’s a trader.”
Pansy replied,” Yeah Draco, forget about her. You’ll always have me.” She smiled flirtatiously. I smiled slightly and turned away quickly.

~Locklyn POV~
Harry, Ron, and Hermione rushed out of the entrance of their common room. They all had very worried looks on their faces. I asked,” What’s going on?”
Ron shook his head as if he didn’t know what to do.
Harry gulped and replied,” Sirius. He has Sirius, in the Department of Mysteries.”
Confused; I responded,” At the Ministry of Magic? Who has Sirius?”
Hermione answered for Harry,” Lord Voldemort has him.”
