She doesn’t belong there, but no one knows this. They think she flings herself against walls for fun; they think she gives herself the scratches on her arms and back. Who in the right mind would do that? Oh, right—they don’t think she’s right in the mind.

Another patient realizes what’s really wrong with the young woman. He can see the darkness attacking her; he can see everyone’s darkness—even his own.
