Hopeless But Hoping

His heart was breaking inside, and his fingers were numb to the tips. His shoes were soaking wet, and he thought he'd never be dry again. But it was all worth it if he could see his beautiful girl one more time, even if it was just one more time. As long as he got to kiss her gently, to avoid bruising, and could hold her hand as she cried one more time, then he would cross the world.
