Take Your Hand in Mine, It's Ours Tonight

Savior

"Andy." I heard my name being called from outside the bunk. "Wake up, man." I shuffled underneath the blankets, noticing that Vicki wasn't there with me anymore. I threw back the curtain, to see Jinxx, standing outside. "You're dad's here, man. Wake up."

Oh shit. My dad was there. Where is Vicki? Have they seen her yet? "Jinxx." he turned to look at
me before making his way into the back of the bus. "Where is Vicki?"

"She's with your mom. She took her shopping. She obviously couldn't handle seeing her dressed
in your sweaty, stage clothes, any longer." he laughed, turning and disappearing into the back
room.

I crawled out of the bunk, and turned to see my dad standing at the end of the hall. He gave me a
smile.

"She's cute." he stated, with a smirk. "Where did you meet her?" I dropped my head, before
raising back up, looking at him with a grin.

"At a signing." I mumbled.

"How old is she?" I somehow knew that this question was coming somewhere in this whole

conversation.

"Old enough." I stated, shuffling through some clothes to dodge the awkwardness that was boiling
between us.

My pack of cigarettes fell from the pocket of my leather vest, upon the bed. I pulled one from the
box, hanging it between my lips, turning to sit down, before lighting it. I took a drag and ran a
hand through my tousled hair, before looking up at him with a sigh.

"She's 17, about to be 18."

"What?!" he shot. "Is she still in school?"

I nodded, taking a drag from my cigarette, as I felt him sit down beside me.

"You know you could get in trouble for this, right?" He asked. I nodded again.

"You know her dad can get in trouble for beating the living shit out of her, right?" I shot back.
Everything grew silent for a few moments.

"Are.. Are you two... dating?" he stammered. I looked over at him.

"I guess you could say that." I stated calmly, taking another drag from my cigarette, blowing the
smoke out slowly.

He sat there for a few minutes before saying anything. I didn't want to hear what he did have to
say.

"She has to go back, Andy." I shook my head.

"Not there. I promised her she wouldn't have to deal with that anymore. I'll never let her go back
there."

I forced the cigarette out in an ashtray that was sitting by the bunk. He wasn't going to sit there
and tell me that I had to send her back to somewhere I saved her from. I got up, making my way
to the front of the bus. If he was going to make me try to take her back, then I didn't want to hear
it.

I was leaned into the mirror, finishing up my war paint, when Jinxx opened the door to my
dressing room.

"She's back." he stated.

I smiled turning back to the mirror, putting on the last few finishing touches, before walking out.
The only thing that I could thing about was what all they had talked about while they were out.

I saw my mom, and smiled as I enveloped her into a hug.

"She's wonderful." she stated with a smile. The words put my heart at ease.

Apparently the day had went well for them. I turned to see Vicki standing there. I walked over to
her, picking her up spinning her around, before returning her feet to the ground, and placing a
small kiss on her forehead.

"How was the day with mom?" I asked.

"It was great." she replied. "We have alot in common, actually. What about you and your dad?"

I sighed. "He said I needed to take you back, and I told him no." I swollwed hard. "I told him that I
wouldn't let you go back to a place like that." She smiled up at me, before dropping her head.

I could hear the sniffles that she was tryin to keep quiet.

"Baby, What's wrong?" I said placing a hand underneath her chin, raising her face so that her
gaze met mine.
I reached up wiping a tear from her face.
"You're my Savior, Andy. Please don't make me go back."
