One Big Happy Family

-2 weeks later-

Today was the day of the baptism, it was pretty exciting because the person who was gonna baptise them baptised me which i thought was really cool. Sophie was excited but kinda upset because because her parents would be ignoring eachother the entire time. I cant blame her for being upset, i would be to since its a special day. At around 12 we left and went to the church, we walked in and my parents, Jack and Melinda and some other people were there.

"Hey" i said

"Alex!, hows your guys new car?" Jack said, we got a new car a few days ago finally

"Jack!. Its good" i laughed

"I cant believe us and your parents are here first" he said

"It doesnt start until 1" i said

"Whatever. You know dude, i hate churches i feel like this negitive energy everytime im in one" he said

"Ughhhh!" Sophie whinned

"What?" Jack said

"My parents are here" she said

"Well maybe they wont talk at all and the day will go by smoothly, you never no babe" i said

"Alex, Sophie come here" my mom said waving us over

"Yes!, somthing thats not involving my parents!" she said

"You cant aviod them forever. Plus we have that after party thing at my parents house, your parents are gonna be there" i said

"I can try to today" she said and we went over to my mom

My mom had the preist meet Sophie and the twins, Sophie seemed to like the preist which was good. After everyone arrived we started the baptism. Everything was going really good, i was really hopeful there would be no drama. When we got to the part with the god parents Jack took Casey and Melinda took Micah. I looked over to the people in the pews and Sophies parents were glaring at eachother, she noticed this and turned her attention back on Melinda. After everything was over Sophie took the twins and put them in their carseats and started to leave.

"Babe you cant just bolt out of here" i said grabbing her by the shoulders

"Yes i can" she said

"Whats wrong?" i asked

"My parents. They couldnt just get along for the sake of me and the babys" she said looking over at her parents and i did to and they were arguing

"Babe you cant go" i said

"But- ugh!, i just cant stand to see them fight. I almost feel like its my fault in a way, you know?" she said

"That their divorcing?" i asked

"Yeah, because i dont hang out with them much and i dont no. I know its crazy to think though" she said

"Babe its not your fault and its deffinetly crazy to think that, i think alot of people feel that way when their parents split" i said and she laughed

"I think i need some air" she said and i nodded and took the babys from her and she left

"Alex, wheres Sophie?" Melinda asked coming over

"Outside, shes really upset" i said

"I'll go talk to her" she said and i nodded and she left

After the church we went to my parents house, when we got there Sophie was still upset and my mom decided to talk to her. I would comfort her but i dont no how because its not like i cant relate. My mom can though since her parents got divorced. I had the babys carseats sat on the table and i was rocking both of them when someone came over, i looked up and it was Rian.

"Hey dude" he said

"Hey" i said

"Wow Alex i cant get over the fact that your babys are so cute" he said and i nodded

"I know" i said

"Boys will be all over Casey dude" he said

"Yeah right, any boy touches my daughter they'll lose their manhood" i said and he laughed

"Aww already acting fatherly before the babys can even talk" he said

"Hey!, Casey! i missed you!" Jack said walking over and picking up Casey

"Hey dude" i said

"So hows- ow ow ow ow! Casey no let go" Jack started but was cut off by Casey grabbing his hair and pulling, he couldnt get her to let go

"Casey let uncle Jack go, come on baby girl" i said trying to pry Caseys hand off his hair and she ended up ripping a stand from his head

"Owww" he whinned and Casey went to eat the hair

"No! Casey no!" i said taking the hair and putting it on Jacks head

"Shes her fathers daughter" Rian said

"Why would you say that?" i asked

"Shes aggressive just like you!" he said

"Mmmm" i said

"So bad news, Sophies parents are here. Their out fighting by her moms car" Rian said

"I feel like i should go talk to them, you know mention whats going on with Sophie" i said

"Yeah you should" Jack said and Casey grabbed his nose

"Yeah...i'll be back" i said

"Okay" Jack said

I went outside and her parents were arguing, i felt uncomfortable confronting them but i didnt want them fighting all night and making Sophie more upset. I walked over to them and was surprised they didnt notice me. After a few minutes i finally decided to just talk to them.

"Hey guys?" i said

"Oh Alex, hi" Sophies mom said

"Hi, look i know you two are fighting and hate eachother and whatnot but you cant be here if you'll be like this all night. Im sorry but Sophies really upset, i dont want her getting anymore upset tonight. So please either quit fighting for tonight or go" i said

"Well-...your right Alex, this is a important day. Lets just not talk for the rest of the night" her mom said to her dad and walked to the house and her dad just got in his car and left and i was shocked

I went back in the house and Sophie and my aunt were holding the babys, i instantly felt anxious when i saw Sophie. Shes gonna be so pissed her dad left pretty much because of me. I walked over to them and put my arm around Sophie.

"Hey babe" i said

"Hi" she said

"Feeling better?" i asked

"Yeah kinda" she said

"Good" i said

"Mhmm. Wheres my dad?" she asked and i instantly felt like i was on the verge of a panic attack

"Well, he left. I told your parents to not fight or just leave and your mom agreed to not fight and your dad just left. Im sorry babe" i said

"He seriously left?, thats ridiculous" she said, i could see the anger in her eyes

"Mhmm" i said

"I-...whatever, i dont have time to worry about this. I just hope he knows that i refuse to talk to him for a while" she said frusterated and walked away and i felt so guilty
