One Big Happy Family

Jacks POV:
I had a fun night taking care of Casey and Micah, with the help of Melinda of course. But even though it was fun it was hard and i was getting worn out. About two hours into babysitting Melinda told me to go take a nap since she had the babys under control. I walked over to the couch and dropped down on it and passed out, i was exhausted. I was woken up by the shrill sound of my phone, babys crying and Melinda yelling at me. I pulled it out of my pocket and went outside.

"Hello?" i said answering the phone

"Jack?" Rian said

"Hmmm?" i said wipping the sleep from my eyes

"Hey uhmm look. I need to tell you somthing and you have to promise to not panic" he said

"What dude?" i said

"Sophie and Alex were in a car accident" he said and i instantly felt sick

"What?, what happened are they okay?" i said

"I dont no man. I got a call from Alex's parents and they said to come down here" he said

"Do Sophies parents know whats happening!?" i asked

"Yeah Alex's mom called them their coming" he said

"Okay you know what im coming to, i'll be there as fast as i can" i said and hung up and ran back inside

"Whats up babe, you look like you just saw a ghost" Melinda laughed

"Sophie and Alex were in a car accident" i said

"What!?" she said

"Yep, Rian called he said he got a call from Alex's parents. Im worried babe" i said sitting down

"Im suer they'll be okay, are you gonna go down there?" she asked

"If you'll watch the twins" i said

"I will" she said and i nodded getting up again

I got in my car and drove down to the hospitol, it was the most terrifying drive ever. Just not knowing what to expect was horrible. I got to the hospitol within 15 minutes, i ran inside and saw Rian sitting in a chair and i went over to him.

"Hey Rian" i said

"Hey" he said

"Any new yet?" i asked

"Uhmmm, on Alex yeah. His parents are talking to the doctors. On Sophie, no clue and they can release anything since were not immediate family and her parents arnt here yet" he said

"Okay" i said sitting down next to him trying to calm my breathing, i feel like im the verge of a panic attack

We sat in silence, i guess both of us were just to worried to talk. I hate hospitols because when your here its always for a sad reason. I mean unless your in the maternity ward. I was busy staring at this woman arguing with a receptionist when i heard my name and Rians.

"Jack Rian?" i heard Sophies mom say

"Hi" i said

"Any news?" she asked as her and her husband sat next to us

"Nope i guess we need to be family to hear anything" i said

"Damn, hunny go see if you can talk to her doctor or somthing" she said anxious

"Okay" he said getting up

We all sat in yet another awkward silence. Rian picked up a pamphlet about bacterial infections and i leaned my head on him to read, he laughed and pet me jokingly. After about fifteen minutes Sophies dad and Alex's parents came back.

"How are they?!" Sophies mom said

"Their both fine, Sophie has to stay over night because she hit her head but she can go home tommarow" Sophies dad said

"Good" her mom said

"Hows Alex?" i asked

"Fine, hes lucky in way. The doctor said the car hit Sophies side of the car and not Alex's so hes not as hurt as her. If the car hit his side then it'd would be a lot worse. All that happened to him was a dislocated hit which he needs to rehab, and obviously cuts and bruises and what not. Other then that hes good, he gets to come home tonight" Alex's mom said

"Thats so good" i said

"Yep, would you be able to stay overnight and help out?. Alex is extremly drugged up" his mom said and i laughed

"Of course" i said

"Okay thanks" she said

Later that night after seeing Sophie and helping Alex get signed out, it was about 11:30 and me and Alex went back to his house. When we got in the house it was quiet which meant the twins were sleeping and Melinda was watching tv. I told her what the situation was and she said she'd stay over night to, since it was gonna be a crazy one. It was very hard controlling Alex he was like dealing with a drunk 10 year old. At about twelve we decided to go to bed, Alex didnt wanna sleep.

"Jacky, im not sleepy" he whinned as i dragged him to his bedroom

"You need to sleep it was the doctors orders" i said

"Noooo" he said

"Yes" i said entering his room

"Jack you suck" he said

"Oh well" i said

"I'll go to bed if you'll sleep with me" he said

"Fine" i said and we took our jeans off and i turned off the light and we got in bed

Me and Alex both couldnt sleep, who knows why. I decided to turn the tv on and mute it so we could watch without waking Melinda. A half hour later i fell asleep. About two hours later i was woken by a pull on the sheets and my name being called.

"Jack?" i heard Alex say

"Hmmmm?" i said not opening my eyes

"Jack i need help" he said

"What?, whats- Alex?" i said looking over and he was gone

"Im on the floor" he said

"What are you doing down there?" i asked

"Sick" he said

"Oh jeez, have you slept at all?" i asked

"Yep and then i woke up and fell on the floor and i feel sick. To sick to move, carry me?" he said, atleast he was basically back to normal. It sounds like the drugs are gone

"No dude just get up here" i said

"Your no fun" he said getting up
