Heaven Is Wrapped in Chains

On the Floor, Senor.

I was woken up by a surprisingly very heavy Kiro jumping on me, screaming “Good morning!” I grunted and tried to roll him off, but he stayed put. Shin joined by jumping on the bed and started poking my cheek. I batted his hand away. “I’m awake!” I whined, trying to pull my hand from under Kiro so I could rub my eyes.

“Please get up?” I asked, trying to prop myself up. Kiro still sat on me, straddling my waist, while Shin made funny faces every time he poked my cheek.

“Oh stop being crabby,” Kiro said, standing up on the bed. He jumped up and down a few times before jumping to the floor. Shin stuck his tongue out at me, “Party pooper.” I scrunched up my nose and stuck out my tongue back at him. As I crawled out of bed, I saw Romeo standing by the door, red in the face from laughing. I gave him a funny look that he returned.

“I’m making pancakes!” Shin yelled over his shoulder as he walked into the kitchen. Kiro went in the opposite direction towards the living room. I decided to follow Shin into the kitchen. He didn’t notice me behind me until I managed to get up on top of the counter. “Well hello,” he smiled, setting a pan on the stove and turning it on to heat up.

“Ello!” I smiled, swinging my feet carelessly. “Need some help?” I asked. He shook his head and said he was fine. I scoffed, “Fine than. I’ll just sit here and act cute,” I smiled, putting my fingertips on my dimples. Shin laughed as he put a bit of butter on the pan to melt.

When he turned around to grab some of the ingredients to mix together, I grabbed the handle of the pan and started moving the butter back and fourth. Shin turned around and batted my hand away, “Mine! Hands off!” He laughed. I laughed and started batting his hands away. We started sissy fighting. And I was totally winning until he knocked over the bag of flour.

“Scheiße!” he cursed, kneeling down to grab the bag of flour. Quickly I jumped down from the counter to try and help him, instead falling on my face in front of him. He laughed, “Whatcha fall for?”

I blushed red, it only turning darker when Xan walked in and said, “You.” Shin laughed, grabbing the bag of flower and standing up. He sat the bag on the counter and dusted himself off, “Nice one.”

“No,” I started, “I think its you that’s falling for him. Look at you blushin’ over there.” I couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that she turned a shade of pink. Shin chuckled, slightly uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his head. “Do you need anything?” I asked, sitting back on the counter, only to have Shin slap my ass back down. I glared at him and walked over to the table.

“I just wanted some water, gosh. Calm down, I’ll leave you two lovers alone.” She smiled and grabbed a bottle of water and walked out of the kitchen.

“Don’t listen to her. I don’t really like you, not like that. You’re a-” I started, but Shin shushed me. As he started mixing the batter he said, “I know, Strify,” and smiled. “Last night totally gave it away. You not getting out of his lap, kissing him-” it was my turn to interrupt him.

“Hey! That was a dare! Blame Yu!” I said, a bit loud, pointing towards the room I thought Yu was in.

“Blame Yu for what?” Kiro said, walking into the kitchen and right in front of me. I smiled and tilted my finger down so I could poke him in the forehead. “Nothing.”

“No tell me!” He started bouncing up n down on his toes. “Please!” He held out the E. I shook my head, making him pout. He gave me a dirty look when his pouting didn’t phase me and ran towards the living room. “Yu!” he held out the ‘U’ sound. “Roni is blaming you for something! I don’t know what... but she’s blaming you!”

I darted after Kiro. Catching up to him, I slapped my hand over his mouth. “Shush, will ya?” I whispered in his ear a moment too late. His eyes widened and I looked in the direction he was staring. A fiery redhead was towering over us.

“What are you blaming Yu for now?” she seemed to growl. Kiro noticeably gulped and turned around, heading back to Shin in the kitchen. “Well?”

“Uh, nothing. Kiro mis-” I started. She cut me off. “Misunderstood? Yeah, no. You guys are always blaming Yu for something!” she kept going, but I kind of blocked her out. “You aren’t even listening? Are you?” I smiled at her and shook my head... which was probably a really bad idea. Her bitch fest started going up a few notches and I couldn’t help but slink back a little as her crazy hand motions got bigger.

“Chewy! Knock it off!” Yu’s voice came from right behind her. I’d expected a little terrier to be tugging at his pant leg, but when Ember turned around, her face matching her hair, it took all I had not to laugh. Ember marched over to the big chair near by and plopped down, resting her head on her hand. “Way to go, Yu. Great job,” she said coldly.

Yu looked down a second, only to look back up and start muttering apologize in his thick german accent. “No, no, no,” she said, looking off towards the sliding glass door. “It’s okay Yu. It’s okay. You just get the floor.” I swear I heard Romeo go “Ooooh!” in the next room, but it could have been my imagination.

“I’ll sleep on the couch, not the floo-” Ember was very good at cutting people off. “No. On the floor senor.” She smiled and got up from the chair, heading towards the bedroom and shutting the door. It opened a few seconds later and she tossed a blanket out. “You’re lucky,” she said, shutting the door harshly again.
