The sun beat down on Samael as he walked through his broken hometown. All that was left was the remains of many houses. Scorched corpses lay on the ground undiscovered. When Samael saw them he cried out in despair, his turquoise eyes glistening with tears.
He'd just returned from his trip overseas. If he knew the horror that awaited this brilliant town he would've said goodbye to his family. Instead he had left without a word to anyone.
Samael went down to the lake and stared out onto the shimmering water. The lake was the only thing that seemed to be left in one piece. And Samael knew that the tattered remains of his broken heart would never be discovered.
He immersed himself in the lake gratefully, although he didn't know how to swim. He waded deeper and deeper until the water rose gently above his head.
The last thing he saw with his turquoise eyes was the sun's brilliant rays as he was swallowed whole.
