Sweet Home Arizona.

Seventeen

Two days. Two days and I would be Mrs. Luke Johnson. I went from being a simple Arizona teenager, married to her highschool sweetheart, and now I was about to be apart of the New York social ladder. I would be someone that went to all these fancy dinners and went to all the red carpet events. I mean don't get me wrong, I was ecstatic to be apart of that but that kind of lifestyle can get old fast. A part of me just wanted to live the simple life I had grown up with. Like I understand that Luke grew up in all of this stuff but I didn't want it to consume my life and my children's life in the future.
"So baby, are you ready for your big girls night out?" Luke asked. I snapped out of my thoughts and brought my attention onto him. " I heard the girls have a very nice night planned for you."
I gave him a smile, " I'm really looking forward to it." The thing is, I really wasn't looking forward to it. None of the girls that were attending my so-called bachelorette party were my friends. They were more like acquaintances. "Well I hope you have a good time baby." He came up behind me and placed a kiss on my cheek.
"Thanks." He walked out of the kitchen and back into the bedroom. I looked down at my coffee and just sighed. I was still in denial that the wedding was 48 hours away from happening. Where did the long engagement go? It seemed like it was all being rushed at this point. Oh Mason, it's probably your nerves or something.
I drank the last of my coffee and walked over to the sink. The one thing that was going good for me was that my cast was gone and a boot had taken its place. Maybe me breaking my leg was a test to see if this wedding was actually going to happen. I mean who breaks their leg weeks before their wedding; oh right I do! I really needed to get out of this house for a little while. Maybe getting some fresh air would help me calm down. I slipped on my Toms and made my way out the door. I didn't bother telling Luke where I was going because I wasn't even sure where I was going. Plus he was probably passed out anyway.
After a three minute elevator ride, I finally made it to the lobby. Everyone that passed by looked at me like I was some sort of riff-raff that was brought in off the cold streets. All these people knew that I was getting married to Luke but that still didn't stop them from casting down their judgemental eyes. These were the type of people that I would soon be associated with. Did I really want to be someone that looked down on others because of what they looked like or how much was in their bank accounts? Did I really want to be someone that went to all these red carpet events and wear thosand dollar dresses? Or did I want to be the girl who was nice to everyone, drank beer with her friends on the weekends, and didn't give a rats ass what she looked like. I continued walking down the streets of New York thinking about everything that was about to happen. Why was I so worried about getting married. I loved Luke with all my heart and soul and I should've been excited that I was marrying a guy like him. Maybe I was just freaking out to much. Or myabe I was; no nevermind.
I made my way into Starbucks and ordered another cup of coffee. While I was waiting for my order, I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I didn't bother looking at the caller I.D., "Hello?"
"Hey doll." Lydia's barbie like voice boomed through the speakers. "Are you excited about tonight; it's going to be so cray!"
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, i'm super excited." I couldn't flat out tell her that I wasn't looking foward to the party. I wasn't that mean of a person!
"So the limo will be at your place around 9 and we probably won't get back until like 5 in the morning." Five in the morning! Was she freaking kidding me right now.
"Don't you think five in the morning is kind of late to be out?" I asked. She let out one of her famous laughs; the kind that drives you mad.
"Oh Macy, you are so hilarious! Don't worry dear we have the best night planned for you; trust me." I hated when she said that.
"Okay." That's all I could really say. I didn't want to hear anything else come out of her botox mouth, so I simply hung up the phone. I'm sure when I get in the limo tonight she will ask me what happened to the call. I guess I would just have to tell her a lie.
I placed my phone back into my pocket and took my coffee from the barista. Today was going to be a long day full of horrible events. Fuck my life!

I looked over at the clock on the stove and saw that it was 8:58; the girls would be here in two minutes. Luke had gone to his mothers house for the night but insisted we have sex before he left just in case I started having feeling for one of the strippers during tonight's adventure. How he knew I was having strippers was beyong me but the dude knew. I looked at myself in the mirror and checked out my appearance. I'm sure the rest of the girls were decked out in short dresses, revealing all that was to be revealed. I however decided to go for a more conservative route; blazer, lace top, trousers, and a pair of Toms. I was about to walk back into my bedroom, but my phone started going off. I knew exactly who it was before I could even look at the caller I.d.
"Hello?" I could hear the shrill voices of the other girls in the background.
"Are you ready to partay!" Lydia screamed into the receiver. I could already tell the night was going to be horrendous. "I- I guess so." I let out a chuckle to make it sound like I was a little bit interested. "Should I come down there and meet you guys?"
Lydia and the rest of the girls started howling with laughter, "Of course silly girl."
I ran my fingers through my hair and looked at the clock. It was 9:03 and I knew that Lydia had reservations at some club at 9:30. A part of me really wanted to take my time and just make us late, but I decided that would be really rude. "Okay, I'll be down in a second." I quickly pressed end and threw my phone in my bag. I took a last look in the mirror, making sure I looked halfway decent.
"The sooner you get this over with mason, the sooner you get to come back here and just relax. You can do this girl; you can do this." I smiled at my little pep talk and walked out of the apartment. I quickly made my way down the stairs and into the lobby. I could see the horrendous pink limo waiting for me outside. I was literally embarrassed to actually get inside that thing. What if someone saw me? Oh God!
"Hurry your ass up, we have a party to get to girl!" Lydia was hanging Outside the window with her boobs practically popping out of her dress. The people passing by looked at her like she w a hooker or some slut or something.
"Oh my gosh girl, what on earth are you wearing? This is supposed to be your bachelorette party and you look like you're going to some book club meeting or something." She slurred. Poor girl was already three sheets to the wind, the other girls probably were too. I slowly got inside the limo and sat next to a girl I've never even met before. "Congrats on your engagement Lacy.” She slurred. This girl looked like some crack whore off the streets, plus she didn’t even know my name. The girl was here for my bachelorette party and she didn’t even know my damn name. Hell, I didn’t even know her name either.
The whole entire ride to the club was absolutely dreadful. The girls were singing drunkenly to every song that come on the radio. The worst was when they started belting out “Super Bass” by Nicki Minaj. I almost jumped out of the limo and onto the streets of Brooklyn.
“Why aren’t you singing with us Macy!” Lydia asked. I tried to give her a smile but it probably looked like I was in pain. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Oh yeah; i’m fine. I was just never a fan of this song.” I screamed over the music. I watched as Lydia climbed over all the girls and took a seat next to me.
“Well what song do you want on?” I could tell that she was actually trying to make this night perfect for me.
Before I could answer her back, all the girls started screaming. I had no idea what the hell was going on until I looked out the window and saw that we had arrived at the club. Even though I wasn’t looking forward to being here, I mentally thanked God that we had finally arrived. I could just go into the club and somehow get lost in all the people. Or maybe I could just hide in the bathroom all night and wait till the girls are done.
“Let’s get our party on!” All the girls filed out of the limo and into the club. It seemed like they all suddenly forgot why we were here, but I was perfectly okay with that. As I entered the club, I took all the bridal stuff off and threw them in the trash. It probably seemed like a bitchy thing to do but I wasn't going to walk around looking like an idiot. As I walked further into the club, I could already see the girls were having a great time without me. They were grinding all over guys, getting even more plastered, and just enjoying themselves. I guess I was the party pooper out of the group. I was never really the type of girl that was into partying. I was a pretty boring person.
After watching the girls grind and basically have sex on the dance floor for the past 30 minutes, I decided that it was time for me to leave. The girls didn’t even notice as I slipped out of the crowded club but that was my plan. I knew that if one of them saw me, they would instantly question why I was leaving. As I walked down the streets, I contemplated where I could go. I didn’t want to go back to my apartment just in case Luke was there. Maybe I should’ve just stayed at the damn party.

John POV
“Dude there is nothing on TV.” I threw the remote onto the chair. All the guys were busy getting their things ready for Mason’s wedding.
“Are you really wearing that to her wedding?” Garrett turned around and looked at me.
“Yeah, what’s wrong with it?” He continued to look in the mirror trying to figure out what was wrong with his choice of outfit. “Does it not look good?” He asked worried. I couldn’t help but start laughing. “Why the hell am I listening to you anyway. You have absolutely no sense of style and everyone knows that.” I flipped him off and got off the couch. I was getting really tired of just sitting around the hotel all day. I wasn’t really a huge fan of New York city but it would have been nice to go see something besides the hotel walls.
“So have you decided what you’re going to do Saturday?” Jared asked. I ran my fingers through my hair and let out a sigh, “No, not really. I guess i’m just going to try to wing it.” All the guys stopped what they were doing and looked at me. “What?”
Pat, who rarely said anything about my trip to New York, piped up. “You came all this way and you don’t know what you’re going to do? Are you fucking crazy John?” I was totally stunned as he continued to grill me, “ Mason is marrying a great guy on Saturday. Yeah, it may not be you but you have to get over that. Mason left for a reason and I don’t think you should bother her anymore. You just causing drama and I for one don’t want to be involved in your stupid plans.” He hopped off the chair and walked into the adjoining bedroom. All the guys, including myself, were stunned by what had just happened. Pat was the type of guy that was totally chill and never blew up at anyone. “What the hell just happened?” I asked.
“Pat just gained the courage to tell you something we all wanted to tell you.” Kennedy announced from the chair next to me. I was about to say something back, but a knock on the door stopped me. I slowly trudged over to the door and looked into the peephole. I almost had a heartattack when I saw who was standing on the other side. I dramatically slammed myself against the door like they do in the movies.
“What the hell is wrong with you tonight John?” Garrett asked. “Open the damn door.”
“I can’t.” I whispered. I guess Garrett had had enough since he flung himself off the couch and stomped over to me. “Open the fucking door dude!” I pushed Garrett against the door so he could look through the peephole. It literally took him less than a second to react. “ Oh my god, Mason’s here!” He whispered loudly. Everyone in the room instantly stopped what they were doing and stared at him. We were all in shock that she was standing outside the hotel door. “What should I do?” Another knock was placed on the door. “Should I open it?” Garrett was a frazzled mess. Hell, we all were a mess at this point.
