Don't Look At Me Like That (Patrick Kane)

Kelsey’s POV

The security man opened the door fully and lead me in. As I walked in all the players stopped changing and looked at me.

Oh my god. Who was I kidding? I couldn’t do this!

I slowly walked in and gave everyone a small smile. I heard a couple of coughs and some whispers. Sharp was the one to break the silence.

“So, What’s your name? He asked slowly.

“Kelsey… Kelsey Grand.”

“You do know that we’ve officially made you Kaner’s girl, right?” Versteeg said while Sharp punched him in the arm.

“Owww I’m sure she knows he likes her! Jesus Sharp!” pouted Versteeg while everyone groaned.

Kane was actually into me? Oh my oh my this was getting interesting. Maybe I should tell them that I kinda liked him too, but then that would make me look desperate.

“You weren’t suppose to tell her dude!” yelled Seabrook throwing a towel at Versteeg

“Well now that she does know, Do you like him back?” He asked me

“Ummmmm… yeah I think he’s cute and he seems nice.” I answered taking a seat on Kane’s stall.

As I sat down Toews, who at the time was sitting right next to me, looked at me.

“Oh sorry Johnny Boy am I not allowed to sit here?” I giggled

He chuckled and looked at Kane who had just walked in.

“She’s definitely a keeper.” He said to Kane.

I looked up at Patrick who was smiling at me. I could tell I was starting to blush.

Damn it, control yourself Kelsey.

“Thanks for coming. Steegie over here didn’t think you would show up” He said to me.

“Hey! Why would anyone ever agree to come see you?” Versteeg joked.

“Yeah no problem. Why exactly did you want me to come here?” I asked hesitantly not trying to sound mean.

“Well, ummm I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come back to Tazer’s and my apartment because we‘re having a little party to celebrate our win?” He said while looking down

I could tell he was nervous. He was so darn cute!

“Of course I’d love to go” I smiled.

“WHOOOOO KANER‘S GIRL IS COMING!!” Everyone shouted at the same time.

Kane looked at all of them, and shot them a dirty look. Then he looked at me giving mean apologetic look.

“I guess I‘m loved already.” I answered laughing.

“WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!” Everyone shouted like they were at some big game.

Sharp came up to me and gave me a big hugthat actually started crushing me.

“Owwww Sharp. Can’t. Breathe.” I managed to get out.

“Oops sorry Kels!” He said while putting me down.
Then Burish started walking up to me with a grin on his face.

“Don’t even think about it Bur!” Patrick said stepping in front of me

“Awwwww how sweet, I guess you really are Kaner’s girl” said Burish.

I laughed and everyone got their stuff ready. I couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. I looked around as Patrick got his bag.

“So, who’s coming in my car other than Kelsey?” He asked slowly putting his arm around my waist.

I smiled.

“Me, Kopy, and Seabsy!” Sharp said while getting his stuff.

Me, Patrick, Kopecky, Seabrook and Sharp all walked out to Patrick’s car. As we got closer I saw Patrick take out his keys and unlock the car. The light went on in a car in front of us. I had to make a run for the passenger seat because there was no way in HECK that I was going to sit in back smashed between those big hockey players! Sharp must have had the same idea as me because he started to pick up the pace.

“SHOTGUN!” He yelled

“NO WAY! I’M NOT SITTING IN THE BACK WITH ALL OF YOU GUYS!” I screamed while sprinting to the car.

Of course Sharp was faster than me and managed to get there before me. He was opening the door when I shoved myself through it. I was halfway in when I felt a pair of arms grab me. Sharp threw me over his shoulder and walked over to the back doors. I hit him in his back but of course it didn’t hurt.

“Patrick Sharp you put me down RIGHT NOW!”

“Too bad! You’re sitting in the back with Kopy and Seabs, You’re lucky I didn’t put you in the trunk.” He said while throwing me onto the back seat.

I giggled as Kopecky and Seabrook got in next to me. I crossed my arms and pretended to be mad as Patrick got into the drivers seat, and as Sharp got into the passenger seat. Patrick met my eyes through his mirror, and I couldn’t help but smile.

“You know Patrick? I’m not too fond of your friends. Especially Sharpie.”

“Hey now, what did we ever do to you? Kopy said pointing to himself and Seabrook.

“Ok ok fine! You guys I like! Sharpie? Not so much.” I answered leaving them both looking satisfied.

Patrick laughed from his seat and pulled out into the street. Sharp immediately turned on the radio and started bobbing his head to the beat. I silently laughed to myself. He was such an idiot. As I was thinking to myself Seabrook leaned in across me to talk to Kopecky. Yeah I know I was stuck in the middle not the best place to be. How could I be so calm with them? I felt so comfortable around them. I mean I felt like they were already a bunch of brothers.

“Hey Seabs do you mind having this conversation when I’m not in the frickin middle of it! Literally!”

“Ooooo She’s a feisty one.” He commented as I rolled my eyes.

　

　

Sharp’s POV

There was something about this girl. I barely knew her and already I felt like she was a little sister. I could tell Kaner really liked her. I saw the way he looked at her, and I knew she liked him too because she looked at him the same way he looked at her. We made our way down the dark streets. I listened as Kelsey talked along with Seabs and Kopy. I could tell they liked her too.

“Sharp you ok man? You’re never this quiet.” Kane said loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Yeah I’m fine I was just thinking.”

“Thinking? I didn’t know Sharp had a brain!” Kelsey said with a sassy tone.

“Hey watch it young lady or next time I will throw you in the trunk.”

I heard her laugh as she went back into the conversation Seabrook and Kopecky were having.

We parked the car and I got out of the car. I saw Kaner go and open the door for Kelsey. As we walked to the front door I saw him deciding weather or not to hold her hand.

Come on Kaner! Go for it man.

It’s like he read my mind because he finally reached out and gently grabbed her hand. She seemed surprised at first but then relaxed and leaned into him a little more.

“Awwww Look at the little lovebirds!” I teased

“Shut up man” Kaner responded by hitting me in the head.

“Watch the hair Kaner!”

“Oh so you would get mad if I did this?” Kelsey said while ruffling my hair aggressively.

Seabs and Kopy started to crack up and they pointed to my hair which was now sticking upwards. Kane laughed and dragged an amused Kelsey towards the stairs.

Oh man, was she going to get it later. With a little help from Burish I could think of a plan to get back at her. We walked up the stairs and into his apartment laughing about some story Kopecky was telling. As Kane opened the door we heard a loud crash and then roaring of laughter. I looked at Kelsey who seemed a little frightened by the commotion, but she soon realized that It was only the rest of the guys.

“Well, I see they’ve started the little party without us” Kane said while walking into his full apartment room.
