Save your heart.

Home is where the heart is.

I drove to the supermarket and bought some stuff. Pastries, pizzas, chips of a couple of flavours, ice cream, sugar containing things and a bunch of things more. I also bought some fruit. I was hoping my brother would be home, so I drove there, carried all the bags to his door and rang the bell. Yeah, he was there.

"What the fuck Jessie, what's all this food?" He said. It was past lunch time.

"You told me you wanted food." I laughed. "So I brought you food."

"I was kidding!" He laughed, too.

"Whatever. I'm going to eat half of it so I don't care what you say. Now help me get eveything in." I said, smiling.

"Alright." He said grabbing a couple of bags. "Fuck, this is heavy Jess, what did you buy, rocks?"

We moved everything in -5 bags in total- and put the pizzas in the freezer and whatnot.

"Want some tea?" James offered.

"Sure." I said moving my ass to his couch.

"So, what's the deal with you and John?" He was back with two mugs full of tea before I could blink.

"He kinda cheated on me before going on tour."

"Kinda?"

"She kissed a girl. He was drunk. I don't know if that's cheating or not."

"Oh." He said taking a sip of his mug. "But you're alright now?"

"Ya. We made peace the night of the concert."

"You sure made love, too." He said laughing.

"Fuck you." I said showing him my middle finger and laughing.

"He seems like a great guy. And it was just a kiss, anyway."

We talked a bit about the concert and he seemed to like the music very much. He had already bought Pioneer at Target, which really surprised me. He apparently liked 'While listening to Rock and Roll' the best, but said he liked the whole CD in its integrity, so I trusted him. It was a great thing that my brother liked my boyfriend's music, really. He also imagined at the concert that John wrote those two songs for me and found it quite sweet. He liked the songs. He liked my songs. I even showed him my tattoo and called me 'crazy woman'. But that's just what love does to you, right? And apparently he was crazy too, because he got a tiny K tattoed on his arm, inside the sillouette of a heart, 'Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley'-like. Kate got a J, instead. Kate also seemed like a great girl, and I was looking forward to meeting he properly. I really wanted to chat with her, talk about girly things, I guess. My only girl friend was Dakota, so it'd be good. I don't have many friends.

We watched Dracula and Toy Story 3. We were weird like that. We then ate pizza for dinner.

"I'm actually thinking about telling Katie to come live with me." James told me.

"Are you sure? Like, two hundred percent sure?"

"I think so. She's probably the best girl I've ever met." I pulled a serious face and he smiled, correcting himself. "Girlfriend."

"Cool. I bet she is. She's really pretty too!"

"I know." His dreamy smile was the cutest. I was so proud of my brother. He recently got a permanent section in the newspaper and got a couple of offers from publishing companies. His drawings were really good. I remember I got jealous all the time when we were kids because his drawings were like gallery worth material and I drew like crap.

James got a new addition to his fish tank, and gave me the honor of naming it.

"Oh my God this is so exciting I've never named a fish!"

"True that. I was the one who named all our fish." He said, cracking up.

"Ha-ha. How funny. It wasn't fair."

I didn't know it was this hard to name a fish pet, so after a while, I finally decided how to call him.

"Horsedog bacon."

"Really?" James said laughing like a maniac. "Horsedog bacon?"

"Yeah." I said, convinced. "It's a great name and it makes you want to eat bacon, doesn't it."

"It certainly does. We should cook some."

"Alright, great, because I really want some now that your fish is tempting us to do so."
