I stood beside Jason as he talked with his friends. I didn't really like them; we were all so different. They cared more about partying and having girlfriends and boyfriends while I would rather stay home this weekend alone so I could read a book.

I had a little more in common with Jason, I think. I mean, we both liked photography. His taste was a little different then mine, but still.
My aunt thinks the only reason I'm still with him is because I'm so insecure and believe that no one else could ever love me after what happened. It wasn't true though. Okay, maybe it was.

As I watched them all talk, I realized she was right. Without Jason, I really wouldn't have anyone outside my family. I wasn't in any clubs, and wasn't looking to join them either. I wasn't popular at all. Any friends that I used to have were gone. Some moved away, some moved on.

"So are you two gonna come tonight then?" Annie, one of his ex girlfriends asked. I didn't like her really. You could tell there was still something between them, no matter how much they denied it.

"Yeah, we're in. Right Kelsie?" Jason asked, not really waiting for an answer. "We'll be there by 8 probably." He added. I looked up at him, putting my hands in my back pockets.

"Right. I have to be home by ten though." I said, which caused some of the guys to laugh. Jason groaned a little, and pulled me aside.

"Just tell them you're studying with a friend." He said like it was that easy. I shook my head. "Come on Kels!"

"They already know there's gonna be a party, they won't let me stay later." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Find a way." He said before kissing me. I sighed as he walked back to his friends, leaving me alone beside the garbage can. Great, tonight's going to be fantastic.
