Twisted Truth

Allstar Weekend just got home from tour. Their parents don’t know so they are going to surprise them. The first one dropped off was Michael; Cameron had to help him with his stuff since he has so many things. Michael’s brother was surprised to see him then he hugged him. The three of them sat on the grass and talked. Cameron left them after a little and then Nathan got dropped off. Next was Zach’s house but Cameron wanted to say hi to his parents so they both got in the house quietly not making noise. When they got in the house they heard some arguing.

“You can’t just come here after all these years!” Mrs. Porter yelled

“We have a right!” yelled a woman

“You lost that right so stay away from him!” Mrs. Porter yelled

“We won’t leave until we see-” the woman said getting interrupted

“You two better get out my house!” Mrs. Porter yelled

“We came for something and we won’t leave until we get what we want!” yelled a man

“He is my-” the woman was saying

“Your nothing! Do you hear me!? NOTHING!” Mrs. Porter yelled

“You better start talking and tell us where to find him!” yelled the man

“I am not saying anything!” Mrs. Porter yelled

“Listen,” said the man grabbing her roughly, “you tell us what we need to know! If you don’t you will regret it! You-” the man threatened but got cut off by Zach

“Get away from her! Don’t you ever dare touch her again! If you EVER touch her again you will lose your hand and I swear I will hurt you if you mess is my mother again!” Zach yelled grabbing the guy by the collar and looked at him with fire burning through his eyes.

“Zach calm down.” Cameron said putting a hand on his back

“Zach what are you doing here?” Mrs. Porter asked. Zach glared at the man then turned to him mom

“We wanted to give you guys a surprise.” Zach answered

“I missed you so much.” Mrs. Porter said then hugged him tightly as if she would lose him any moment.

“I missed you too. I have another surprise for you.” Zach said smiling then handed her a black gift bag. She opened it and took out a black dress.

“It’s beautiful, thank you.” Mrs. Porter said

“I knew you would like it,” Zach said smiling, “it’s for tonight, I made reservations for the whole family to go out for dinner.”

“I love you so much.” Mrs. Porter said hugging him again

“I love you too mom.” Zach said

“Ok, I should go now, just wanted to stop by and say hi.” Cameron said

“It was good to see you again.” Mrs. Porter said and Cameron left

“Who are they?” Zach said looking at the two strangers

“No one, they are no one and they won’t bother us no more.” Mrs. Porter said

“You can’t do this.” the woman said

“I can do what I want, now leave my house.” Mrs. Porter said sternly

“We better go,” said the man eyeing Zach’s icy glare, “but you will hear from us again.”

The next day the families organized a party and celebrated their boys were home. Everyone was having a great time except Mr. and Mrs. Porter. Everyone was sitting together sharing stories and making fun of each other.

“Oh yeah, well I thought it was hilarious how Michael was hitting on this girl and then her boyfriend came up to Michael, the look on his face was priceless.” Cameron said

“Shut up Cameron.” Michael said

While all that was going on Mrs. Porter got a call and picked it up.

“Hello.” Mrs. Porter answered

“Now that I found him I won’t rest until I have him, he will be mine.” said a voice, it was the woman from yesterday

“I told you to leave us alone!” Mrs. Porter yelled and hung up. Everyone was now looking at her when a tear ran down her face.

“Mom are you ok?” Zach asked worried as he ran up to her

“Yeah, I’m fine.” she said with a fake smile

“Is it those people from yesterday? Are they bothering you? Who are they? You know what, I’m going to talk to them and get them to stop bothering you!” Zach said getting mad

“No! Stay way away from those people! I don’t want you near those people! Stay away from them please!” she begged

“Is it one of dad’s crazy ex girlfriends?” Zach asked looking at his dad cooking hamburgers

“Forget about that ok.” she said kissing his forehead and ruffled his hair

“Hamburgers are ready!” Mr. Quiseng shouted

Few days had passed and Michael is now at Zach’s house eating in the kitchen.

“Dude lets go out later.” Michael said

“Alright.” Zach said

“Hi boys.” Mrs. Porter said hugging Zach tightly and lightly kissing the top of his head

“I’m going out later.” Zach said

“Stay safe and don’t stay out too long.” Mrs. Porter said

“We will probably just go someplace to hang out and then for some food there is not much that can happen to us.” Zach said

“You guys are eating now.” she said

“Mom, it’s us, do you not know how much we eat.” Zach said laughing

“I can make something for you guys.” she said

“No mom it’s fine.” Zach said

“Hey mom, guess what?” Vic asked wanting some attention

“What?” she asked

“I got accepted to a college.” Vic said

"That’s great, but I got to go." she said giving both boys a hug

"Your mom has been acting weird." Michael said

"Yeah I know." Zach said

"What?" Zach asked Vic, who was looking at him

"You always do it ALWAYS!" Vic yelled

"What are you talking about?" Zach asked

"Everything has to be about you, Zach this Zach that, I'm tired of it! Everything you do has to be praised!" Vic yelled

"That’s not true." Zach said

"You were always the good child, the perfect Zachary Porter! Do you think I like being compared to you? No!" Vic yelled

"Vic I-" Zach was saying

"No shut it, I did the opposite of what you did and I still get compared to you! You dropped out of college but I will finish and show everyone I can do something you didn't accomplish!" Vic yelled

"You are seriously going just because I didn't, really, really?" Zach asked
"You know what Zach, we will never be alike!" Vic yelled

"I know we won’t, I do what I for me not like you." Zach said

"I wish you were never my brother!" Vic yelled

"Ok, we are leaving." Michael said pushing Zach out the house. Zach and Vic had always argued about the smallest things since they were younger but sometimes Vic would take things a little too far.

All the boys were at the ice rink. They were all skating when Zach received a text that read:
The people you care about feed you with lies

Zach was shocked and automatically thought his friends. He was so distracted that he ran into a wall pretty hard. The guys saw and started laughing at him. Zach stayed on the ground looking a little angry about the guys laughing but that wasn't what was bugging him. The guys noticed and stopped laughing.

"Zach you ok?" Cameron asked but Zach ignored him

"C'mon dude, get up." Michael said helping Zach up

"Get away from me!" Zach yelled jumping up and skated away from them

"What's wrong with him?" Nathan asked

"I don't know..." Michael said trailing off

Meanwhile Vic was with his girlfriend.

"I hate him." Vic said

"No you don't." Nicole said

"I wish he wasn't my brother!" Vic yelled

"Babe calm down, he IS your brother and you DON'T hate him, you are just mad." Nicole said

"I mean it. My mom has been ignoring me ever since he got here. She cares more about him." Vic said

"Vic, he was gone for months, she just missed him." Nicole said

"It’s not that, I know it." Vic said quietly

"Let's go do something fun." Nicole said

The boys were eating at a little restaurant not too far from the rink. Everyone was talking and laughing except Zach who was not talking and hardly eating.

"You ok man?" Michael asked

"Uh... yeah." Zach said quietly. Just then he got another text from the same number:
They are keeping you from the truth. You are being lied to

Zach read it and dropped his phone.

"What did the text say?" Cameron asked. Zach ignored him as a million questions came to his head. Nathan picked up his phone and read the text and then saw the previous text.

"Zach it's not us." Nathan asked understanding why he has been so quiet.

"What are you talking about?" Cameron asked

"Read this." Nathan said handing them Zach's phone

"Who sent this!?" Michael asked not liking what was happening

"Zach." Cameron said shaking him. Zach looked at them with a looked that said "why?"

"We're not keeping anything from you." Cameron said

"Who is sending you the texts?" Michael asked getting mad

"Zach this had to me some kind of joke." Nathan said. Zach sighed and put his head in his hands. The phone rang again with another text:
This isn't a joke and stay out of this you are not Zach

"We are getting out of here!" Michael yelled as he read the text

They went to Zach's house and Vic was there with his girlfriend.

"Well if it isn't Zachary Porter." Vic said. Zach looked at him with questioning eyes.

"It's not Vic, he can be a jerk to you but it's not him." Michael said

"What's not me?" Vic asked.

Vic started arguing with Zach, and then everyone else started arguing. Zach's head was pounding hearing all their voices and as he thought of what was happening to him but nothing made sense, then they turned to him and all started talking to him at the same time making him fell worse. Zach started breathing harder and put his hands on his head.

"I can't take this anymore!" Zach yelled pushing them out of his way and started walking away from them then all of a sudden he fainted.

"Zach!" they yelled as they ran up to him.

"What happened?" Zach mumbled confused to see everyone around him as he woke up.

"Zach you are not leaving your house and I am taking your phone. I will find out who those jerks are." Michael said

"Don't tell my mom about this." Zach pleaded

"Fine, we won't say anything." Nathan said

"Who could they be referring to?" Zach whispered to himself

"Zach, you care about lots of people, it can be anyone but just know it's not one of us, it's not us Zach." Cameron said

"All this thinking is making my head hurt." Zach mumbled

"Then forget about it." Nathan said

"Yeah forget about that and leave it to us." Michael

"What the hell are you guys talking about?" Vic asked

"Nothing." they all said at the same time

Few days has passed since Zach got the first text but after a while Zach started getting emails instead. The whole situation was driving him insane; he started sleeping less and became quieter. When Zach was around his parents he pretended he was fine and smiled, Vic started noticing Zach had been acting different but didn't say anything.

"We should go out for dinner." Mr. Porter said

"I- I don't feel like going. I don't feel so well." Zach said

"Ok then we should stay." Mrs. Porter said

"No, go without me." Zach said

"Vic, stay with Zach." Mrs. Porter said

"But I was going out!" Vic whined

"You are staying with him and enough." Mrs. Porter said

"Here is money if you want to order any food." Mr. Porter said

"Have fun." Zach said

"Bye." Mrs. Porter said kissing Zach on the top of his head. Zach ordered pizza then sat back in the couch.

"I hate you, you know that." Vic said

"Clearly." Zach said

"I wish you weren't my brother." Vic said glaring at Zach

"Well I'm sorry that I can't change that." Zach said.

Later the door bell rang and Zach got up and opened the door to see the pizza delivery guy. Zach was walking back to the couch as he opened the pizza and saw note taped to the inside of the box:
To Zach: I am pretty sure I am driving you insane with my little messages. I'm sorry about that. How about you meet me at Starbucks? Stay on the outside tables. It's time you learned the truth I have been telling you about. Don't you want to know who has been keeping you from the truth? Go NOW!

Zach dropped the pizza and looked at the note.

"Why did you drop the pizza you idiot!" Vic yelled. Zach crumbled the paper into a ball and threw it on the floor then ran up the stairs then back down and then out the door.

Vic was confused then decided that since Zach left he should too. Vic was about to go out when he saw the crumbled piece of paper, he read it and didn't understand what was going on but though Zach was stupid for going to meet with those people. Vic was at his girlfriend’s house, they were watching TV then they started kissing, she reached in his pocket and felt the note.

"What's this?" Nicole asked

"Some Note for Zach." Vic said

"Why do you have it?" Nicole asked and he shrugged. She read it and got serious.

"Where is he?" Nicole asked

"Probably where the note told him to go." Vic said looking at the TV

"Did he tell you about those messages?" Nicole asked

"No, but that’s probably why Michael took his phone the other day, my guess, that didn't do any good." Vic said

"This is serious." Nicole said

"What are you talking about?" Vic asked

"How could you be so careless!? They could be some psycho, we need to stop him!" Nicole exclaimed

"Why do you care anyway?" Vic asked

“Because I care about the people in your family and Zach has always been nice to me." Nicole said

"Zach, nice?" Vic said sarcastically

"He is nice that is why so many people like him, he also told me he likes me as your girlfriend the first time you brought me to your house, he helped me with the surprise I did for you few years ago, remember the one you loved, yeah that was his idea." Nicole said.

With that Vic realized Zach wasn't the horrible brother he always saw him as, he realized that the reason Zach was liked so much is because he is nice to everyone. Vic jumped up and ran to his car to go look for Zach. Vic got to the Starbucks but couldn't find Zach anywhere and he started getting worried.
