After Zach had left his house he sped to the nearest Starbucks. He sat down at an empty table and immediately a woman sat in front of him.
"I should have guessed it was you, what do you want?" Zach demanded
"To tell you the truth of course." she said
"Where is that other man?" Zach asked
"Oh you mean my brother, not sure where he is." she said
"Who are you?" Zach asked
"I'm Jane, your mother." She said
"What!?" Zach yelled not believing what he was hearing
"Exactly what you heard, I am your mother." Jane said
"You're lying!" Zach yelled
"I am the woman that gave birth to you." she said
"That’s not true!" Zach yelled
"Have you ever asked yourself how come you don't look like anyone of your "family", that’s because you look like your father, your real father" Jane said showing him a picture who looked similar to Zach. That’s when Zach realized that she was telling him the truth.
"Why are you here? Why did you come now? Why am I not with you? How did I end up with them? What do you want from me?" Zach asked
"You ask a lot of question. I was expecting a big loving hug." She said and Zach gave her a look
"Answer my questions." Zach demanded
"I came here for you silly. I came now because I was curious as to what you looked like. You are not with me because they took you away from us and convinced the hospital to let them put you under their birth parents. I want you to come with me, I want you to come home with us, I want you to leave them, to leave those liars, leave them and come with me." Jane said getting up and tried to give him a hug
"Get away from me! Don't touch me!" Zach yelled
"No that's not how you treat your mother, didn't those two teach you any manners." Jane said
"You expect me to accept you with open arms! You’re wrong if you think I would! You can't just come in my life and act like nothing happened! I have a life, I have a life that you are not a part of and you will never be!" Zach yelled
"You seriously prefer to live with the people who lied to you your whole life, the people that kept you away from us, from your sister, you prefer to stay with a "brother" who doesn't care about you?" Jane asked
"S-sister?" Zach questioned
"Yes, you have a sister, she is 19." Jane said. Zach shook his head and stood up.
"Stay away from me!" Zach yelled running away
"You're not going to give me a kiss or a hug or an 'I love you'?" Jane asked
"I will never love you!" Zach yelled and got in his car.
As Zach drove he tried to blink back the tears that were ready to fall. Zach ran up to his room and started packing as it started to rain. He was throwing everything he could in his two suitcases as he heard a door closed. Zach went downstairs and saw Mrs. Porter.
"Zach what's wrong?" she asked
"Why did you lie to me!?" Zach asked standing in front of her
"I didn't lie to you." she said
"You're not my mother!" Zach yelled blinking back the tears
"W-what?" She asked
"I meet her today, why didn't you tell me anything! She said you took me away from me!" Zach yelled
"THAT'S NOT TRUE! SHE DIDN'T WANT YOU!" she yelled and Zach's eyes got big. She tried to touch his shoulder but he jerked away.
"Don't touch me!" Zach yelled
"Zach I love you! Please believe me." she said
"That's not true! What was I, a charity case!" Zach yelled
"No! No you're not, we never told you anything because you didn't need to know." she said
"You lied to me, you lied to me my whole life!" Zach yelled
"Zach I-" she said getting inturupted by Zach
"No mom- I mean Mrs. Porter," Zach said, she started crying when he called her Mrs. Porter "you can pretend I was never in your life, it won't be so hard. I'm out of here, out of your life!" Zach yelled and ran up stairs to his room.
"Zach, no! Don't go!" she pleaded. She was on her knees crying when Vic came in.
"Mom what's wrong?" Vic asked
"Z-Zach." she cried
"Mom, I'm so sorry, it's all my fault he's gone. It's my fault they took him, I should have stopped them." Vic said feeling guilty
"What are you talking about?" she asked
"The note he got, I should have gone after him." Vic said
"What note?" she asked and he gave her the note. Zach came down the stairs and they looked at him.
"Zach!" Vic said surprised to see him
"Don't let him go." she pleaded
"Zach I-" Vic started saying
"You got your wish." Zach said, a tear fell and he ran out the house.
"What wish?" she asked crying
"I told him I wish he wasn't my brother." Vic said
"You what!?" she yelled
"I didn't mean it!" Vic yelled
"Zach is n-not your brother." she said crying
"What?!" he yelled
"He's not my son! Zach hates me and it’s all her fault!" she yelled
"No it's all my fault I was jealous of him, I thought you loved him more than me and I said things I shouldn't have. I noticed he started acting different, I knew something was going on because the guys kept checking on him. If I wouldn't have been stupid I would have went after him. I'm so sorry mom." Vic said
"Why would you think I loved him more, I always loved you both the same." she said looking at him
"You started giving him more attention and you started ignoring me." Vic said looking down
"I only gave him more attention because the day he got here they were here threatening me to let them see him they wanted to go after him and he wanted to go after them and I just wanted to make sure he didn't see them, I was scared I might lose him and I did." she said crying and hugging Vic. Then the doorbell rang, Vic opened the door and Jane walked in.
"Where is MY son?" Jane asked
"Get out of my house!" Mrs. Porter yelled
"I'm not leaving until I get him to come home with me." Jane said
"Good luck with that." Mrs. Porter said sarcastically, "Why are you even here?"
"I told you, I came here for Zach, what kind of name is that anyway." Jane said
"You can't take him!" Vic said quickly
"Stay out of this boy." Jane
"Leave him alone." Mrs. Porter said pushing Vic back with her.
"How did you find him?" Mrs. Porter asked
"My daughter." Jane said simply
"You have a daughter?" Mrs. Porter asked
"Almost 20." Jane said
"Zach just turned 22, you didn't even wait that much to have another kid, when you had Zach you hated him, you didn't care what happened to him as long as you got away from him, you said kids were the most horrible thing, you said kids were a waste." Mrs. Porter said
"I changed my mind." Jane said as if nothing was wrong and Mrs. Porter looked at her in disgust
"How did you find out about him?" Vic asked
"My daughter kept telling me she wanted me to let her go to the concert of the most famous band Allstar Weekend then I saw MY son was a part of that famous band and decided it was time he came home where he belonged." Jane said
"All you want it his money and fame, stay away from him and get out of my house!" Mrs. Porter yelled pushing her out.
Zach arrived at Cameron's house drenched from the rain.
"Zach what happened to you?" Cameron asked looking at him
"Will you let me stay here or at least until I find an apartment?" Zach asked shivering and his
teeth chattering
"Get in, you're freezing and of course you can stay." Cameron said pulling him in the house
"T-thank you." Zach whispered
"Hey what's wrong?" Cameron asked when he took a look at Zach's face
"Everything." Zach said
"Want to talk?" Cameron asked
"No now." Zach whispered still shivering
"Ok go get changed or you're going to get sick." Cameron said
"Honestly I don't care." Zach said
"Zach. Go." Cameron ordered and Zach left up stairs to the guestroom.
Few minutes later Cameron's cousin, Carmen came to visit. Carmen it really close to Cameron and Zach. Cameron told Carmen Zach was staying at his house and she raced up to see him. She opened the door and saw him lying on the bed with his head buried in the pillow crying and she ran up to him.
"What's wrong?" Carmen asked sitting next to him and rubbed his back
"Tell us what happened to you." Cameron said
"T-they're n-not my p-parents." Zach said quietly. Carmen made him sit up and hugged him.
"How did you find out?" Cameron asked
"I met with her today, she was the one with the creepy messages." Zach said
"How did she get to you?" Cameron asked
"She sent me a note on a pizza telling me to go to the Starbucks." Zach said
"And you went! Zach that's dangerous!" Carmen freaked
"I had to find out! All the text and the messages and all the email were driving me insane, I had to know who it was and what they wanted." Zach said
"You still shouldn't ha- what emails?" Cameron asked
"After you guys took my phone I started getting email." Zach said
"You should have told us." Cameron said
"Stop telling me everything I shouldn't have done! Maybe I should just go." Zach said and
started moving
"No you are staying here." Cameron said
"I can't handle this." Zach whispered
"Yes you can." Carmen said moving his face from her shoulder and looked him in the eye
but saw that he still had tears falling. It pained her to see him like that.
"W-why didn't they tell me anything? I deserved to know. They lied to me all my life. I wasn't even wanted by my real parents. Why are they here now? They felt pity on me, that's why they took me with them. Did any of them even love me?" Zach asked
"Zach shhh, don't say that" Carmen said hugging him tighter and rubbed his back. Sometime later she realized he fell asleep so she laid him down gently moving the hair out of his face.
"What are we going to do with him?" Carmen asked
"Help him." Cameron said
"He is not ok." Carmen said worriedly
"We are going on tour soon and tomorrow we start going to the studio, that will take his mind off of things." Cameron said. Carmen sighed and Cameron's phone rang, he answered it quickly to not wake Zach.
"Hello." Cameron whispered
"Hello Cameron sorry if I disturbed you." Mrs. Porter said
"Um, it's fine." Cameron said
"Is Zach with you?" Mrs. Porter asked
"Yes he is." Cameron said
"At first I thought he would go to you but then thought he probably didn't want me to find him so went with someone else, so I guess he thought that too and went to you. How is he?" Mrs. Porter asked
"Um he was- he is actually sleeping right now." Cameron said not telling her how bad he actually was
"Please keep an eye on him." Mrs. Porter
"I will." I said
"It's good to know he's in good hands, thank you." Mrs. Porter said and hung up.
"We should go." Cameron said
"Fine." Carmen said sighing. She got him a blanket and kissed his forehead before leaving.
The next day they were at the studio working on stuff for the upcoming tour. The boys had brought along a couple of friends including Carmen. They finished and all left their separate ways. Michael went on a date, Carmen left to the mall, Cameron and Zach left together and Nathan left with the rest.
"Want to go anywhere?" Cameron asked
"No." Zach answered.
After that they stayed quiet until the car started stopping and Cameron pulled over to the side and got out. Zach got out too and stood next to Cameron who was calling Nathan to pick them up. It was 8 and it was also pretty dark, next to where they stopped the car there were a bunch of trees and you couldn't see ahead. Zach sighed and sat down on the ground with his knees to his chest. Cameron sat next to him without saying anything.
"You wanna talk?" Cameron asked after a while of sitting in silence
"It's just- I don't- I wish- I- I don't even know what to say." Zach said sighing
"Start by telling me how you feel." Cameron said
"I feel confused, stressed. Lied to, naive, stupid, and more." Zach said
"You are not naive or stupid." Cameron said
"Yes I am, I believe everything people tell me, I should have know they weren't my parents, I look nothing like them no one on my "mom's" or "dad's" side of the family." Zach said
“It's not that you believe when people lie to you, you just see the good in everyone." Cameron said
"Why?" Zach asked
"Why what?" Cameron
"Why didn't they tell me anything and why didn't my parents want me?" Zach asked
"Maybe they knew you would react like this or worse, and about the other thing I don't know." Cameron said
"So you would have kept everything from me too?" Zach asked raising his voice
"No, that's not what I meant, I just think they were scared of what your reaction would be." Cameron said
"Do you think they would of told me someday?" Zach asked
"Honestly, I don't think so." Cameron said
"I wonder how my life would have been." Zach said
"Well we probably have never met and Allstar Weekend wouldn't exist." Cameron said
"I'm glad for that part." Zach said smiling lightly
"You see, not everything is bad" Cameron said
"But I know nothing about my real parents. I know I have a sister. Cam, I don't even know
who I am." Zach said
"You are Zach Porter." Cameron said
"That’s not true, Zach Porter doesn't exist. I feel so alone." Zach whispered
"You have your friends." Cameron said
"I feel like my brain is going to explode of thinking so much." Zach said shaking his head
"Then forget about all that and talk to your parents, the Porters and the other ones." Cameron said
"I can't go and pretend nothing happened and I don't want to talk to any of them ever again!" Zach yelled
"You can try and accept truth." Cameron said
"What do you expect me to do, accept them with open arms? No! You don't know what it
feels like to know everything you believed in, everything you thought was real is not true! My whole life is a joke!" Zach yelled
"No, I don't know what it feels like but you can't avoid it forever, you need to talk to them!" Cameron insisted
"No I don't! I am not going to talk to the people who lied to me! I am not going to talk to the people who neglected me! They can just forget about me, I'm nothing of theirs anyway! None of them care about me! And my so called brother hates me!" Zach said as a tear slid down his face. Zach got up and took off running.
"Zach, stop being a coward and stop sunning!" Cameron yelled after him. Zach kept running, he didn't even know where he was going, he wasn't even looking ahead of him.
“Zach come back!" Cameron yelled. Cameron heard footsteps so he knew Zach wasn't far. There were fewer trees as they kept going and he got closer to Zach. Cameron called after him and Zach turned and looked at him.
"Leave me alone!" Zach yelled not taking his eyes off of Cameron as he kept running.
"Zach, I'm sorry ok just stop running!" Cameron yelled
"You're right I am a coward, so just leave them alone, you don't have to put up with me!" Zach yelled
"I'm sorry I said that, that's no- ZACH WATCHOUT!" Cameron screeched. Zach stopped running and noticed he was standing on a cliff.
"Walk slowly ok, you're going to be fine." Cameron said calmly sensing Zach's fear. Zach slowly started walking but after he took the first step he heard the ground start to crack, he panicked and started running. That's when it happened, the ground around Zach gave in making him let out a piercing cry as he fell to the water below.
"ZACH!" Cameron yelled watching his best friend fall.

"No, I don't know what it feels like but you can't avoid it forever, you need to talk to them!" Cameron insisted
"No I don't! I am not going to talk to the people who lied to me! I am not going to talk to the people who neglected me! They can just forget about me, I'm nothing of theirs anyway! None of them care about me! And my so called brother hates me!" Zach said as a tear slid down his face. Zach got up and took off running.
"Zach, stop being a coward and stop sunning!" Cameron yelled after him. Zach kept running, he didn't even know where he was going, he wasn't even looking ahead of him.
“Zach come back!" Cameron yelled. Cameron heard footsteps so he knew Zach wasn't far. There were fewer trees as they kept going and he got closer to Zach. Cameron called after him and Zach turned and looked at him.
"Leave me alone!" Zach yelled not taking his eyes off of Cameron as he kept running.
"Zach, I'm sorry ok just stop running!" Cameron yelled
"You're right I am a coward, so just leave them alone, you don't have to put up with me!" Zach yelled
"I'm sorry I said that, that's no- ZACH WATCHOUT!" Cameron screeched. Zach stopped running and noticed he was standing on a cliff.
"Walk slowly ok, you're going to be fine." Cameron said calmly sensing Zach's fear. Zach slowly started walking but after he took the first step he heard the ground start to crack, he panicked and started running. That's when it happened, the ground around Zach gave in making him let out a piercing cry as he fell to the water below.
"ZACH!" Cameron yelled watching his best friend fall.
