Twisted Truth

Cameron had been crying on his knees when he heard someone call out his name, seconds later his phone rang and he slowly picked up.

"H-hello." Cameron answered

"Where are you?" Nathan asked

"Where the car is parked, to the side there are trees, go straight through there, c-come p-please." Cameron said and hung up. Nathan still had his friends in his car so he told them to stay there.

"Cam, Cameron where are you!?" Nathan yelled, he called Cameron and heard a phone ring; he hung up and called again trying to get closer to the sound of the phone. Nathan found Cameron and ran up to him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Nathan asked putting a hand on Cameron's back

"I-I- k-killed m-m-my best f-friend." Cameron cried

"Cam, yo- wha- Zach! Where's Zach!?" Nathan yelled but Cameron didn't say anything

"Answere me! Where. Is. Zach!" Nathan yelled

"He fell of the cliff!" Cameron yelled

"What!" Nathan yelled. Cameron explained to Nathan what happened

"You didn't kill him ok, and now we have to find him." Nathan said pulling Cameron up and looked for a way down.

"The fall wasn't so high, we still have hope to find him alive." Nathan said. Nathan called his friends and told them to help look for Zach.

"What's over there?" Molly asked pointing at something. They all ran over there and saw it was Zach. Zach was on top of some rocks on shallow water. Cameron knelt down beside him and cried as Nathan was trying to blink back the tears.

"Zach I'm sorry." Cameron whispered

"Is he d-dead?" Molly asked. Nathan quickly checked for a pulse.

"He's alive!" Nathan yelled.

They were scared to move him because that could make things worse but if they waited for an ambulance he might not make it so they carried him to the car. Nathan gave his keys to Mark and got in the back with Cameron. They had Zach laying on them. Mark quickly sped to the hospital. Cameron started talking to Zach even though he knew he wouldn't respond. Cameron talked about memories they shared, about how their future could be and kept telling Zach he couldn't leave him.

Once they got to the hospital and they took Zach Cameron and Nathan called Zach's parents, not his birth parents, they also called Vic but he didn't answer, Michael didn't answer either since he was on a date, Carmen and a few other close friends. There were quite some people in the waiting room waiting for news on Zach. A doctor came and talked to Mrs. Porter saying that Zach needed a surgery but that his body wouldn't withstand it, he said that Zach had a lot of broken bones and he will most likely be paralyzed, then the worse news came when the doctor said that Zach had a very low chance of surviving and that he was sure he wouldn't wake up so they were going to let him have all the visitors that came instead of their only 2 visitors at a time so they can say their goodbyes.

All in shock they walked to his room. Mrs. Porter broke down crying when she saw Zach on the bed and saw how bad he looked. The room was very packed when everyone got in. Zach's friends started saying their goodbyes, some of the guys started getting choked up, the girls were crying and saying how they were going to miss everything about him from his looks to his personality. Carmen was playing with his hair as she told him about all the things they went through when all of a sudden she started shacking him and yelling at him to wake up and to not leave her. The guys pulled her back and Nathan started talking to him about the band how much fun it was for him to go on tour and make music together then he started talking about embarrassing moments and tried to laugh but couldn't. Cameron kept saying that he was sorry and that if he would have been a better friend he wouldn't have caused him to get upset and run off, he said that if he would have been faster he would have caught up to him before they got to the cliff. He told him sorry for everything he could remember upsetting him and finally said that Zach has and always be his best friend. Mrs. Poster told him she was sorry for never telling him the truth but that she always loved him and that she was glad to have him in her life, she said that he will always be her little boy, she told him how proud she was of him and that she wished the last time they talked things could have ended better. Mrs. Porter sat on a chair next to him and cried. Hours had passed when they heard a faint whisper.

"Mom..." said the whisper. Mrs. Porter looked at Zach and he was looking at her.

"Zach!" she yelled hugging him tightly

"Zach you're awake!" Cameron said in shock

"Mom... I'm sorry, you... are my... mom, the... only one." Zach said tiredly

"No, I'm sorry, I should have told you. I love you." she said holding his hand

"I... love... you too." Zach said

"Mom?" Zach asked

"Yes." she said

"Why did... you keep... me... if I... was... obviously not... wanted?" Zach asked

"I guess you deserve to know, well... I was in the hospital because I had just lost my baby. I
was walking down the hall when I heard a baby crying and someone yell... yell that they didn't... want the... baby. I was shocked to hear that because I just lost mine and that woman didn't want the baby, I was thinking that she doesn't know what she is saying. She saw me looking at her and called me in, I was going to walk away but I sighed and went in. When I went in she asked me is I was interested in having a baby because she wasn't and she would give her to me and that the doctor can put the child under mine and wouldn't have to go through all the adoption papers wanting to get away from... the baby. I was shocked she would ask such a thing. She told the nurse to give me the baby and once in my arms the baby stopped crying, from that moment the baby became mine, that baby was you." she said

"Was I... really... that bad?" Zach asked

"No Zach, you weren't bad at all it was her and I'm glad you're with me and not them or someone else." she said

"Zach, I'm sorry, this is all my fault." Cameron said

"Why are... you... sorry? You didn't... Do anything... wrong... you just... told me what I... didn't... want to... hear... it was... my fault." Zach said looking at him

"I'm still sorry." Cameron said

"Well don't... be." Zach said

"Zach, how many times did I tell you that you couldn't be Superman." Nathan said joking

"Obviously... not... enough." Zach said smiling

"You had me scared for a moment there, I thought I wouldn't see those blue eyes of yours again." said one of his friends

"Thank... you all... for... letting me in your... lives... I care... about each... and... everyone... in here." Zach said

"You could barely talk, you should rest." Mrs. Porter told Zach but he shook his head then he winced

"Are you feeling any pain?" Carmen asked Zach, he shook his head and smiled.

"Please tell... Mikey... to listen to... what... I've... told him... and to not... Give up,... tell him that… I always… looked up… to him… tell the... fans... I love them... and thank... them... for me... for everything... and for... helping me... live my... dream, for... always... putting... a smile... on my face." Zach said wincing

"Once you get out of here you can tell them yourself." Nathan said

"Shhh, stop talking. I'm going to go get a nurse." Mrs. Porter said

"No, don't go." Zach pleaded

"Do you feel ok?" she asked, he nodded and she sighed not believing him.

"Don't... give up on... the band." Zach said

"Zach stop talking like that." Cameron said

"Cameron never change... you are a... wonderful... best friend." Zach said

"Zach..." Cameron whispered holding back tears

"You better get better soon, we have our tour coming up." Nathan said

"Nate... thanks for... being... my... best friend... tell that to... Mikey too... Mom... tell Dad... I love him... and tell... Vic-" Zach was saying

"Shhh Zach, shhh, don't say anything." Mrs. Porter

"Carmen,... always been... such a... sweet girl... my best friend... always... been with me... in the... toughest times." Zach said looking besides him to look at her

"How could I not, that's my job.”Carmen said

"Carmen... I want to... tell you- never... mind." Zach said

"I hope you don't get mad for what I'm about to do." Carmen said before she kissed him lightly on the lips, he looked up at her and smiled

"Why?" he asked

"Been wanting to do it for a while now and I figured you couldn't do anything about it." Carmen said winking at him

"Carmen I-" Zach said getting interrupted

"Shhh." she said putting her finger on his lips.

"Zach!" Mr. Porter said walking in

"Hi... Dad." Zach said. Mr. Porter went to stand by his wife and they held Zach's hand. "You... are the... best... parents... I could... have... asked for." Zach said. Zach looked around him and
smiled at everyone, then he saw Vic at the door and his smile grew.

"Beeep beeep beeep" came the sound nobody wanted to hear.

"No! Zach! No, I'm sorry! I never hated you, I was jealous! I never truly wished you weren't my brother! Zach NO!" Vic cried hugging him

"Zach why did you leave me!" Carmen cried

"Zach wake up! Please wake up!" Vic yelled shaking him

"Leave him alone!" Carmen yelled pushing him off Zach.

Mrs. Porter accused the doctor of not doing enough for Zach but the doctor simply said that's life and to get used to it and that he would have died anyway.

Hours later they were all at the Porter's house, the people there were family, and the boys except Michael were there with their families. No one was able to sleep, Mrs. Porter was hugging one of Zach's shirts as Mr. Porter held her and they cried together. Early in the morning there was a knock on the door and Mrs. Quiseng answered and Zach's birth patents barged in.

"We came here for Zach and you better let us see him!" John, Zach's birth father yelled

"Leave this house, your presence is not wanted here!" Mr. Porter yelled

"Yeah you gave him his life but you also took it away!" Carmen yelled

"Listen to me you ignorant girl, stay out of this!" John yelled

"It's your fault he is gone!" Carmen yelled

"What do you mean gone?" Jane asked

"For stalkers you didn't do your job very well." Nathan said

"Zach is dead and it's all your fault! If you never showed up none of this would be happening and Zach would still be here!" Carmen yelled

"You killed my brother!" Vic yelled and Nicole hugged him

"You should leave." Mr. Quiseng said pushing them out.
A little later Michael arrived.

"By the looks on your faces I wasn't the only one that had it bad. My date went horrible! Where's Zach anyway, I need my little counselor haha, he always knows what to say-" Michael was saying until getting interrupted

"Would you shut up!" Vic yelled

"Michael, something happened." Cameron said

"What happened and why is everyone here?" Michael asked

"Um... Zach um..." Cameron tried to say

"Last night Zach..." Nathan said but couldn't continue

"Zach what?" Michael asked

"Zach is..." Carmen said crying

"Dead!" Vic yelled. Mrs. Porter ran up to Zach's room and Mr. Porter when after her, Michael froze where he was then sank to the floor.

"No, that's not true!" Michael yelled shaking his head. Carmen went up to him and hugged him tightly.

"It's true, he said to tell you that he always looked up to you... and to listen to what he told you and to not give up." Carmen said

"H-he looked up to me?" Michael asked looking at himself. Zach had always told Michael not to give up on love, that it might not be easy to fine but he will. Zach would always give him advice and would make him feel better.

"How could he look up to me, why me?" Michael questioned

"Because you are you." Nathan said

"He was my brother, we always had each other’s back." Michael said

"He was my brother not yours." Vic said

"He was more my brother than yours!" Michael yelled. Michael and Zach had always been super close, Zach was always there for him no matter what, he was his loyal friend. Michael always looked out for Zach and would make sure no one messed with him.

"He was my best friend too you know, he is the reason I am the Cameron I am today, when Zach moved here he didn't judge me like everyone else. I feel like if all this is my fault, I was the one that made him take off running, I got him upset, I- I wasn't a good friend." Cameron said

"Cameron, this wasn't your fault, it was those stupid people that came to mess with him, it's their fault." Carmen said with anger

"I failed him, I failed to look after him, I said I was gonna make those jerks leave him alone and I didn't. I wasn't even with him in his last moments! I was on a stupid date with a girl who wasn't worth it!" Michael yelled

"I stole a kiss from him, after he smiled at me, we could have had something beautiful, I had pictured myself with him, I- I loved- no I love him. I want my Zach back." Carmen said crying harder

"I never told him how sorry I was for all I said, I didn't get a chance to tell him so much." Vic said

"We all have to think about all the good things he did for us, remember how happy he always was, his love for the things he did, how caring he was. We have to remember him with happiness not with sadness, he wouldn't want us suffering. We have to believe that he is in a better place, he is at peace. Zachary David Porter will be remembered." Mr. Quiseng said at the funeral. Then the Porters got up and started talking.

"Zach was always such a sweet boy, he always had so much love to give. I could close my eyes and I can see him smiling at me, I can hear his laughter. I love you so much. I miss my little boy, I wish he was still with me." Mrs. Porter said crying into her husband’s chest.

"I will always feel lucky to have had you in my life, Zach you made me so proud. I know I never told you enough times but I love you. I remember how I taught you to play sports, how to ride a bike, all the things we did together, I will always remember those moments and I promise I will remember you with all the happiness I can." Mr. Porter said

"Zach, I'm so sorry for all the times I was a jerk to you, I'm sorry for not appreciating you, I'm sorry for everything. Remember how I told you I will never be like you, well its true; I will never be as good as you. I promise that I will change and make you proud of me from where ever you are." Vic said.

Michael, Nathan and Cameron were talking up there about old memories, tour stories, the future and other stuff when a girl came in.

"It's Allstar Weekend!" the girl yelled pointing at them. Behind her Jane and John walked in.

“Wait, Mom, why are we in a funeral?” Gisel asked

“Well we never told you but-” Jane said

“Get. Out.” Mrs. Porter said

“Mom, Mom, Mom can I go talk to Allstar Weekend?” Gisel asked

“Yeah sure.” Jane said

“We have a right to be here.” John said

“No you don’t.” Mr. Porter said

“I can’t believe I’m actually meeting you.” Gisel said trying to be quiet

“Why are you here?” Nathan asked

“I don’t know, my parents brought me.” Gisel said shrugging

“So they are your parents.” Cameron said glaring at them

“I don’t want to be rude but you should go.” Michael said with some resent

“You can’t kick my daughter out of here.” John said

“I told you to leave!” Mr. Porter yelled

“You have, well HAD a brother.” Jane said pointing at Zach in the casket, Gisel hadn’t even
noticed it was there.

“You are telling me Zach Porter from Allstar Weekend is MY brother and he is
dead?” Gisel asked

“NO! He is MY brother! He is nothing of yours!” Vic yelled

“We want EVERYTHING that belonged to him, from the smallest thing to his songs.” John said

“You are crazy! We will never do something like that! Everything music relates will be for the boys to decide but we will not give you anything!” Mrs. Porter yelled

“You guys are sick, you know that, not only is it your fault he is gone and now you want all his things! I don’t know how he can be related to such horrible!” Carmen yelled

“How come you didn’t tell me anything? Why wasn’t he with us? Why are you telling me now? Why do they say this is your fault?” Gisel asked tearing up

“Just shut up and stop asking questions, I told you not to talk until being talked to. Now get out of here.” Jane said

“You wanted to take Zach away from us to treat him like that?” Cameron said disgusted

“That is none of your business.” John said

“He was my best friend so it is my business.” Cameron said. Gisel went Zach and lightly touched his face.

“I was your biggest fan you know. I wish we could have had the chance to know each other, I’m sure you were a great big brother. You’re lucky you had a life away from them, they are not the nicest people. Sometimes I wish I had different parents, you’re lucky you were raised ny nice people. Zach I will miss your voice.” Gisel sid crying

“Get away from MY brother.” Vic said standing next to her

“Why are you so rude to me?” Gisel asked

“Zach is mine.” Jane said

“Why do you talk about him as if he was some object?” Gisel asked getting mad

“I have told you many times not to question us and you didn’t even know him so shut up.”
Jane said

“I know him more that you do! I looked up to him, he was my role model and I didn’t even know he was my brother!” Gisel yelled

“Just shut up.” John said getting annoyed by her

“Hi is lucky that he lived far away from you, with GOOD parents who probably loved him not like YOU!” Gisel yelled

“Let’s go and I forbid you to see any of them.” John said looking at the rest of Allstar Weekend as he pulled her arm

“You can’t make me go with you!” Gisel yelled as they tried to drag her away

“We are your parents, we do with you as we want.” Jane said

“I’m 19, I can do what I want!” Gisel yelled pulling away from them and cried on the floor. Cameron hugged her and decided that she was the closest thing he has to Zach.

They all wanted to get to know Gisel better since she reminded them so much of Zach but Michael, Carmen and Vic were the ones that had the hardest time accepting her, Carmen had the hardest time accepting her out of all of them.

Today is the first day of tour, they kept going on with the tour they were planning knowing Zach would have wanted them to. Now Nathan sings and plays the guitar.

"Um, hello everyone, Zach w-won’t be playing with us anymore." Nathan said to the fans that now had shocked expressions. The guys played a few songs but kept messing up. A tear slid down Cameron's face but quickly whipped it away.

"I can't do this." they all said stopping at the same time, Michael ran off the stage and Dillon went after him.

"You guys deserve to know the truth." Cameron said to the fans

"Why did Zach quit?" a fan asked

"He didn't really quit, he is- I can't say it." Cameron said

"He is dead." Nathan said quietly

"He wanted us to tell you all that he loves you and wanted to thank you for everything and for helping him live his dream, he also wanted us to thank you for always putting a smile on his face. Zach always loved you guys." Cameron said, all the fans were crying by this point.

"This hasn't been easy for us, so we are sorry we didn't give you the best show but we will have a meet n greet, we are sorry we told you this way and that we didn't say anything sooner." Cameron said and then Michael came back with Dillon and Carmen.

"Sorry I ran out." Michael said

"I take it as you already told them." Dillon said as he saw all the crying faces

"I'm sorry guys, I feel as if I could have done something so that Zach were still with us."
Michael said

"We have been through this many times and if there is someone who should feel responsible it's me." Cameron said

"We know who’s fault this is but of course Cameron had to go and make friends with their daughter." Carmen said

"Hey don't bring Gisel into this." Cameron said

"She is not Zach." Carmen said

"I know she's not Zach but she... reminds me of him, they are so alike." Cameron said

"You always take her and do things you would do with him, she is NOT Zach! No one can be like my Zach." Carmen said as tears started to fall

"Was Zach your boyfriend?" a fan asked and that caused Carmen to break down, Michael held her tightly

"We will see you at the meet n greet." Nathan said.

Throughout the meet n greet the fans hugged the boys tightly as they cried. They felt better that they had finally told the fans but they still felt empty without their best friend.

Allstar Weekend continued for a few more years and in every album they made they put a song that Zach had written wanting a part of him in each album.
