Time To Shine

The next morning I open my eyes to see the harsh orange numbers of my alarm clock staring back at me saying 5:30am. But try as I might for the next half an hour to close my eyes and get back to sleep, I just couldn’t.

So I rolled over and came face-to-face with a blonde-haired, drop-dead gorgeous boy. I almost screamed; but clamped my hand over my mouth before I woke him. He looked so innocent and much younger. I’m not saying he wasn’t cute before but when he was asleep he had this child-like look on his face and I couldn’t help but smiling.

Now, before you ask; no. We didn’t do anything last night. It was completely innocent sleeping. After my sister and I had our screaming obscenity match and Ben and I talked, he was actually really tired and neither of us was brave enough to leave my room to try and find more bedding for him.

It was really awkward at first, but once I heard his breathing deepen and he fell asleep I found that I was pretty tired as well and soon felt slumber draw me under (*AN hahah almost rhymes *)

Instead of disturbing Ben, I quietly got out the other side of my bed and walked out to get myself a glass of water. I watched cartoons for about an hour, then decided to make some breakfast. So I went back into my room and found my ipod and earphones before putting them on full blast and starting to cook.

I was in the middle of stirring around the scrambled eggs in the pan, when my favourite song came on; What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction.

I grabbed the wooden spoon that I was using to stir the eggs and started belting out the lyrics, using the spoon as a microphone.

At this point I was doing some Beyoncé worthy moves; jumping around the kitchen and
having some air-guitar throughout as well.

Continuing on with my moves from before there was also a lot of head-banging and
clapping. I was sure I was making quite a racket but I was so absorbed in the song that I
just didn’t care.

“You don’t kno-o-OH MY GOD!!!” I screamed. “How long have you been standing there?”
I had spun around during some of my more hideous dancing and found Ben standing there barely containing his laughter, smirking at me, without a shirt.

I think I almost fell over when I fully registered what I was looking at.

He looked at me and smirked “I don’t really know; time flies when you’re having fun!”
