If Love Is Sweet, What Is This, Draco Malfoy?

I got dressed, and was escorted by Draco down to our limo, before going to the venue. He helped me inside, where I was met by an unexpected surprise. I gaped as I saw my parents and Draco’s parents there, looking slightly uncomfortable near the raving fans of the band.
“Oh my god, what are you doing here?” I gasped. This was not happening! I wanted to keep this as painless as it could be. With the parents here it made things so much worse!
“I invited them here. It’s only fair that they get to see your performance” Draco said truthfully, and I blinked, before hugging him robotically and then going backstage. As I was about to backstage, I saw someone familiar in the crowd. Taylor.

“Maia just calm down ok?” Tanya soothed
“No Tanya I cant, I cant do this!” I gasped.
“Maia it’s just nerves. You’ll be fine ok? You’re a great performer. I promise that you will blow them away. All you have to do is just get up on stage and then everything else will slot into place” Ricky said, unaware to the situation ‘behind the scenes’. Tanya gave me a meaningful look, and I stood up, my hand shaking as I clutched the microphone, and they all grinned and slapped high fives.

Everyone was watching and enjoying our first 2 songs, and I felt calmer.
“Ok ladies and gentlemen. We’d like to end the evening on a song that we’ve recently added, and yes it’s not exactly ‘our’ song, but it means a lot to one of our band mates so, enjoy” Tanya said, and grinned before I looked at the crowd and smiled. None of my parents, Draco’s parents, Draco or Taylor knew this song. Mostly because they didn’t listen to mortal music. This is sort of why it made this song perfect, because it meant a lot to me. My eyes failed to meet Taylor’s as I said my next sentence
“I’d like to devote this next song to my husband, who I think fully deserves to hear it” I said, and took a step back before hearing Ricky tap his drumsticks together to start the song. Tanya started playing the piano in piano notes, and started the intro slowly, before getting faster to get into the song. I took a deep breath and looked directly at Draco as I sang this song, my eyes filling with tears as I saw him grinning

I started crying as I sang the last stanza

“A murderer” I whispered the last two words before looking at the floor, crying harder than ever. The crowd was stunned as I put the mic back into the slot and walked off stage. Ricky got up and looked at Tanya who just ignored him and ran after me. I broke down backstage but carried on going through the crowds, pushing right to the back. I was almost there when Taylor came to my side

“Maia what is this? You’re married?” he whispered
“Taylor I can’t… I can’t deal with this, I can’t deal with you right now” I cried, more tears falling, until Draco came in front of me, our family following. His eyes were now wet with tears as well. “You knew” I cried, and he looked at the floor. I looked at my hands, before pulling the ring off my finger. Draco followed my movement with his eyes. “I’m sorry Draco” I whispered, holding out the ring for him, and he took it gently, before dropping his gaze and turning around to leave. More tears fell as I saw him walk out of the building, until Tanya had to intervene and tell my parents to fly back home and that I would be back at Hogwarts by tomorrow, and to tell Taylor that now was not the time, before taking me back to my suite. When I got there, Draco had used magic to get all of his stuff back home at his manor, where he would surely be now, heartbroken. I wanted to reach out and help him but knew that the closer I got to him, the more I would hurt him. Tanya stayed at the suite that night with me, and I stayed up until 7am the next morning, talking and crying until eventually I fell asleep.
