What a Wicked Game

Chapter 5

Corey stood outside Lindsey’s apartment door, chewing his bottom lip impatiently. He came here thinking that Lindsey would be home with Jeremy, but apparently not. Having just gotten back from touring a few months straight with Stone Sour in support of their new album, he wanted to stop by and see the two of them before he had to go back in the next few days. He sighed and ran a hand through his long blonde hair. He had been waiting an hour and it didn’t seem like Lindsey would be coming back anytime soon.

Just when he was about leave, Lindsey appeared at the top of the stairs, her long black hair tied into a high ponytail. Jeremy was nowhere to be seen. When she saw him by her front door, instead of looking happy, she looked almost aggravated. “Hey Corey” was all she said as she took out her keys to unlock the door.

He brushed off the less than excited greeting, “I got a few days off from touring, figured I’d drop by and see how you and Jeremy were doing.” He walked in behind her and closed the door.

“We’re fine, Corey.”

“Well where is he?”

“He’s with Brenna and Paul, okay? I had to run into work for a while and I asked them to watch him.”

Corey held his hands out in front of him, “Sorry, I was just asking. I thought maybe if he was here I could help you out or something.”

“I’m not helpless because believe it or not I’ve been taking care of him for six years now just fine, thank you.” She walked into the kitchen and turned the oven on, about to start dinner.

Corey’s jaw just about dropped to the floor. What the hell did he do? He was trying to be a good friend-as they had been for six years now-but she didn’t seem to want any of it. Did something change while he was on tour?

Lindsey looked up at him, “What do you want, Corey?”

“Okay what the hell is going on?” Her unnecessary anger was starting to get on his nerves. He was sure that he hadn’t done anything to deserve it.

“What do you mean?”

“You know exactly what I mean. Why the hell are you acting like such a bitch to me? All I did was ask if you needed any help with Jeremy and you’re making it seem like I just asked you to climb a fucking mountain or something.”

Lindsey scowled, “Go home, Corey.” She turned her back to him and continued getting things ready for dinner.

Corey stomped over to the kitchen, “I’ve given up a lot of time for you that isn’t already spent on touring.” He put a hand on the counter, “This is the way you treat a friend who’s done that for you?”

“That’s the problem, Corey! You have your own life, your own kids that need your attention. You shouldn’t spend it trying to look after me. I’m a grown woman and I don’t need a babysitter, that’s for Jeremy.”

“I’m not trying to babysit you, I just wanted to come and see you!” Their voices were increasingly rising over each other.

“You said you only have a few days off? Then why the hell are you over here? Are you worried because we live in this shitty apartment? I’m buying a house right now and we’ll be out of this place soon. Maybe then you’ll stop worrying about me so damn much.”

“Oh, so it’s a crime to be worried about you? It’s a crime for me to want to see you? That’s really fucking great.”

“I didn’t say that.” she took a few deep breaths, “Just tell me why you keep wasting your time on me, please!”

“Because I love you, God damn it!” The tension between the two suddenly broke and they fell silent. Lindsey looked at Corey, completely surprised. He leaned back, laughing slightly and shaking his head, “Damn.”

“You love me?” she asked shyly.

He wanted to laugh at the admittedly stupid question-he thought he had made it obvious the past few years that he had feelings for her. Maybe he was more secret about it than he thought. “No shit, woman. I have for a while, I just didn’t know how to say it, or when to say it, or…” he was going to say something else but changed his mind, “I’ll just go.”

“Wait!” How many times had she said that to Corey? It had to be the millionth time. Even so, every time she said it, he would always stop for her. Anything she asked of him, he would do it. Whenever she needed him, he would be there. Could she be any more oblivious?

He looked at her expectantly with those beautiful blue eyes, “What?”

“I love you too, Corey.” The easiest thing for her to say, and it had taken so long for her to say it. She nearly jumped into his arms and caught his lips with hers. There was no hesitation in the way her kissed her back, mouth moving slowly with hers. He snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her body against his. There was no space left between them. Everything that was just said moments ago was thrown out the window, everything forgotten in their close embrace.

Lindsey leaned her head up into the kiss and opened her mouth slightly against his. She took a step back, pulling at the front of his shirt to indicate that she wanted him to follow.

“Down the hall, right?” he broke their kiss, asking to make sure.

She nodded, “Last door on the left.” He smiled and picked her straight up, wrapping her legs around his waist. He walked her out of the kitchen and down the hall, opened the last door on the left, and stepped into her bedroom. Shirts were shed as soon as they crossed the threshold. The feeling of his hands running down her naked back was enough to drive her crazy.

He laid her back on the bed and situated himself between her legs. Their lips met in a heated kiss, tongues wrestling together. She let out a soft groan whenever his hips rolled into hers. One hand went to her back to unhook her bra, letting the black lace material fall freely from her body. “Jesus, you’re fucking beautiful.” He said in an airy voice.

All of a sudden, Lindsey couldn’t help but feel very self-conscious. Corey must have noticed because he looked up at her questioningly, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong.” She reassured him but from the look on his face she could tell he wasn’t buying it. “Okay, I’m just nervous. Brian’s the only guy I’ve been with and I don’t want to be…” she came up short. She wasn’t exactly sure what she didn’t want to be.

He chuckled, “Don’t worry so much. It’s just me, just Corey.” She thought for a moment then slowly nodded her head. It wasn’t as if she was doing this with a stranger. She’s known Corey for six years and she loved him a lot. There was nothing to be worried about.

When she gave him the okay to continue, he started trailing kisses down to her neck, nibbling the spot at her collarbone. “So you haven’t had sex in six years?” he mumbled.

“I didn’t have a lot of free time.” She mumbled back.

“Six years though…” his hand moved slowly from her hips to her chest.

“Oh, shut up.” There was no force in her voice by now as he went back to teasing the spot at the base of her neck. His hand came up to cup her breast, rolling the nipple in-between his fingers. Encouraged by her soft moans he moved down her body and began kissing spots around her breast while his hand massaged the other. Lindsey ran her hands through Corey’s hair, his ministrations causing a wet heat to form between her legs.

He stopped, now turning his attention to undoing the zipper on her jeans, pulling them off quickly. As soon as his jeans were off as well she grabbed his hips and pulled him down on top of her. He smiled, “Look who’s so eager now.”

“I just…I really want this, more than anything.”

His features softened, “Me too.” His fingers traced the soft skin of her thighs, moving back and forth teasingly. He kissed her lips softly as he pulled at the fabric on her hips and slowly slipped off her panties. For the first time in her life, Lindsey wasn’t shy about being naked in front of a guy. Corey made her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

Pushing her legs apart he maneuvered himself until he was pushing against her entrance. He stopped before continuing and looked into her eyes, “You’re sure about this?”

She had to stop herself from laughing, “Kind of late to be asking that question, Corey.”

“Call me old-fashioned.” He leaned down and kissed her lips once more before pushing himself inside.

It didn’t exactly hurt as much as her first time but it still felt uncomfortable after so long. There was a moment’s hesitation before he began thrusting slow and deliberately. Her hands rested on his shoulders, squeezing the muscle whenever he would move. She could tell that he was holding back. She lifted her legs and wrapped them around his hips, bringing him deeper inside her.

He let out a silent moan, “You’re really impatient, missy.”

“Hey, do I need to remind you? Six years.”

He laughed, “Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.” He bent down and bit the skin of her neck before thrusting hard. Her back arched as a shock of pleasure went through her body.

Her hips thrust against his, creating a delicious rhythm that drove their pace faster. Her hands grabbed at his back, digging her nails in with every thrust he gave. Corey hissed out from the sharp pain but in return his grip on her waist tightened and he started thrusting faster.

Lindsey could feel that burning sensation starting to reach fever pitch. She clung to him tighter as the feeling intensified. His forehead fell against hers, his breathing heavy and hand gripping tight enough to leave bruises.

A hard thrust to that “special spot” made her head snap back and she nearly screamed out. “Oh God…” she moaned, “there.”

She heard Corey breathe out a laugh. He must have been avoiding that spot on purpose. Their moans filled the room as he hit that spot over and over, fast and hard. She couldn’t hold herself back any longer. His name fell from her lips in a passionate moan as her orgasm hit, her body shaking from the intense pleasure.

He gave a few more erratic thrusts, letting her orgasm ride out, before coming himself with a load groan. The apartment was quiet again save for their heavy breathing. He pulled out and settled down next to her, catching his breath, “Fuck…I think you left some scratch marks.”

Lindsey laughed, “Sorry, ‘lost in the moment’.”

“I think you’re just sadistic.” She answered him with a soft, tired kiss. His hand went to the small of her back and he pulled her closer to the warmth of his body.

“Thank you, Corey.”

He raised an eyebrow, “For what?”

“For making things seem right for the first time in a long time.”

He smiled and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, “Don’t thank me for that. I’m just glad that you’re finally mine.” He blushed as soon as he realized what he had said, “If you want to be-if that’s what-”

“I’m yours, Corey.” She interrupted.

“Faithfully.” He sang, kissing her forehead.

She giggled, “You’re the biggest dork, I swear no one would know you sing for Slipknot.”

“I’m an enigma.”

“You’re something, alright.” She let out a yawn, obviously a little worn out from their previous activity. Corey wrapped his arms around her as she cuddled up against him. She traced the outline of the tattoo on his chest with her index finger. She could hear him humming a song but she was too tired to tell what it was. “I’m not gonna fall asleep.”

“Yes you are. I’ll see you in the morning, okay?” Too tired to answer, she just nodded her head and drifted off to sleep in his arms.

For the first time, Corey felt completely at peace.
