Chapter 5
X Mesly’s p.o.v. X
Andy and I were sitting in the living room of his friend’s house watching tv while he wrapped his arms around me and we were sprawled all across the couch.
“Andy… who’s house is this exactly?” I asked
“My friend’s house, his name is Jeremy Ferguson, but we call him Jinxx.” Andy said
“Oh… and why do you call him that?” I asked
He stayed quiet and thought about it.
“I really don’t know… people have just called him that ever since before I even met him.” He said
“That’s cool.” Was all I could say
We sat there in silence and let the cartoon character’s annoying voice fill the air.
“Andy… how are we supposed to maintain ourselves? I can’t keep living off of you, and I don’t even have a job.” I said
Andy chuckled and clamped his hand over my mouth.
“Mes… shh I’ve got it all under control, just trust me on this and stop worrying about everything.” Andy said
I took a deep breath, even while his hand was still over my mouth.
“Better?” He asked
I nodded and then he moved his hand away from my mouth.
There was another awkward silence.
“Andy-“ I said
He clamped his hand over my mouth again, but this time I bit him.
“Ouch, what was that for?” Andy asked
I chuckled.
“Sorry, and I was going to ask you to turn up the volume you dummy.” I said
“Oh… sorry about that.” He said
“It’s okay.” I said
Andy turned up the volume a little and then we nestled into each other.
Just as we were starting to relax the door burst open and Andy and I jumped.
A loud obnoxious guy walked in yelling and laughing, but when he saw us he stopped.
“Hey guys… sorry about that.” He said
I looked at Andy.
He glared at this guy and then flipped him off.
“Man I let you stay at my house and that’s how you repay me?” He asked
I started to get up, but then Andy grabbed me a little too tightly and I cried out.
The guy ran over to us, with a frantic look.
“What happened?!” He asked
Andy looked a bit upset.
“Sorry Mesly, I didn’t mean to I swear!” Andy said
I ground my teeth, to ignore the pain.
“It’s okay.” I said hoarsely
“No it’s not, I’m going to take you to the hospital.” Andy said
“No, please no!” I said
Andy and his friend looked at me, in a ‘are you crazy?!’ look.
Then they shrugged and his friend walked around the corner, I think to the kitchen.
“Mesly, I can’t leave you like this… you need to get help.” Andy said
“I’m fine, it’s just some bruising, it’ll go away, stop worrying about me, and go talk to your friend… it sounds like he doesn’t want us here.” I whispered the last part
“Mesly why do you always hide your feelings from me?” Andy asked
I tried to open my mouth to come up with some sort of lie, but I just couldn’t get the words out.
Andy stared at me urgently, waiting for a response.
“I … don’t know.” I said
“Well darling, that’s not a good enough excuse.” Andy said
“Too bad, that’s all you’re getting.” I said
He stuck his tongue out at me and I slowly bend down and bit his tongue.
When I did that his eyes popped open.
Then I realized what I did and I backed away.
“What on earth…” He mumbled
“Sorry, I… I don’t know why I did that… “ I said
Andy smiled.
“You do like me! I knew it!” He said
I rolled my eyes.
“No I don’t.” I said
“Yeah you do! Jinxx she likes me!” Andy said
“Oh really, now you figured that out?!” Jinxx called from the kitchen
They laughed.
I crossed my arms and winced.
Jinxx then walked back in with two glasses.
“Here you go guys, drink up.” He said
Jinxx handed one to Andy and then one to me.
I accepted mine and thanked him.
“No problem, and oh sorry I’m Jinxx, you must be Mesly, correct?” He asked
I nodded and shook his hand.
“Hello Jinxx.” I said
“Hey. Also this is the famous Mesly?” Jinxx asked Andy
Andy nodded, carefully.
Jinxx started laughing and I raised my eyebrows, clearly confused.
“What?” I asked
“Nothing, it’s just he never shuts up about you, Mesly this Mesly that, and I’m just happy to finally meet the famous Mes.” He said
I blushed.
“Andy, you talk about me?” I asked
Andy didn’t meet my gaze, but he glared at Jinxx.
“Mesly… do you mind sitting here for a minute while I speak to Jinxx in the other room?” Andy asked
“No, not at all, bye guys.” I said
Andy carefully placed me on the couch and then he got up and chased Jinxx.
He tackled him to the floor and sat on top of him.
“Rape, rape!” Jinxx called
I laughed.
Andy then straddled him and Jinxx blushed.
“It’s not rape if you yell surprise.” Andy said
Jinxx raised his eyebrow.
“Surprise!” Andy yelled
Jinxx then pushed him off and he was now on top.
I looked away, it looked too wrong.
They kept rolling on each other back and forth while I tuned them out and ‘watched’ the tv.
Then the bell rang and all our heads snapped to the door.
“I’ll get it!” Andy said
“No, I’ll get it!” Jinxx said
“Sit your butts down, I’ll get it.” I said
“Mesly, don’t get up!” Andy said
As soon as I tried to get up I accidently tripped over my own feet and almost hit the glass table, before Andy caught me.
We both breathed deeply.
“Please listen to me next time?” Andy said
I nodded and then Jinxx stood there in the corner with his jaw almost touching the floor.
“How… did you do that?!” He asked Andy
“Adrenaline rush I guess.” Andy said
Jinnx didn’t move, because he was probably still in shock, but Andy got up and carried me back to the couch and sat me down.
He kissed my forehead and then went to open the door.
“Andy!” Another guy said
“Hey Jake!” Andy said
They hugged each other and then he ran over to Jinxx and tackled him.
“Not again!” Jinxx said
I laughed, which brought Jake’s attention over to me.
“Oh, hello, sorry I didn’t see you there. I’m Jake, what’s your name?” Jake asked
“Mesly, and hello.” I said
He hugged me.
I bit my lip so that I wouldn’t scream.
“Jake!” Andy yelled
He got off me and I fell back against the couch.
“What?” He asked
“Don’t touch her!” Andy said
“Gees, I was only giving her a hug, chill dude.” Jake said
He held his arms up and then moved away from me.
“No that’s not it you dummy… she’s um… sick.” Andy said
“Ohhh, okay I was about to say, Andy please do not turn into the protective boyfriends.” He said
Andy laughed and then punched his arm.
“Actually we’re not together… were just friends.” I said
“Really, you guys look cute together, just saying.” Jake said
Andy smiled and looked at me and gave me the “I-told-you-so” look.
I rolled my eyes.
“Anyways so what’s up guys are we having a rehers-“ Jake said
Andy covered his mouth, like he did to me earlier.
“Jake and Jinxx could I maybe talk to you guys please?” Andy said
They looked confused, but didn’t ask and just started walking outside.
“Mesly stay there and please don’t move.” Andy said
“I won’t try that again.” I said
Andy laughed.
“Good.” He said
I stuck my tongue out at him, and he just blew me a kiss.
Then he walked outside to join them and I just sat there and looked around the house.
:: Andy’s p.o.v. ::
“Jake, Jinxx cool it please, don’t mention anything about the band yet.” I said
“Why not?” Jake asked
“She doesn’t know, and I don’t want to tell her yet, I will eventually.” I said
“What about the tour, are we going to take her with us?” Jinxx asked
I nodded.
“Yes, so that means I’ll have to tell her soon.” I said
“Oh, okay I guess… but I still don’t understand why your hiding it.” Jake said
“I know how she thinks, she’s going to try anything possible to try and stay here because she feels like a burden, and think that she will get in the way of our band.” I said
“No she won’t, I mean I just met her, but I like her in a friend sort of way.” Jake said
“You better, she’s mine.” I growled
“Chill Andy, I know she’s yours.” Jake said
“Anyways so when are we going to leave?” Jinxx asked
“In two days.” I said
“Okay, sounds good.” Jinxx said
“Who are we touring with?” Jake asked
“I think… Get Scared, Vampires Everywhere, D.R.U.G.S., and Dr. Acula.” I said
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard of them.” Jinxx said
“Yeah, me either.” Jake said
“They’re all new bands, and they already know about us, apparently we’re getting widely known.” I said
“Awesome!” Jake said
I smiled.
“So sound like a plan… don’t tell Mesly.” I said
“Alright, I’ll let CC and Ash know.” Jake said
“Aren’t they coming tonight?” I asked
“We’re right here.” Ash said
“Hey guys!” CC said
I waved for them to come over.
“What’s up, why is everyone standing in a circle outside?” Ash asked
“It’s sort of a meeting.” Jake said
“Ohh, a meeting, I like meetings.” CC said
I rolled my eyes.
“Guys focus!” I said
They all shut up.
“Alright now that I have your attention… I have a friend over, her name is Mesly, she’s been my best friend since … well I don’t know our parents were best friends, anyways she doesn’t know about us, so please don’t tell her.” I said
“Okay… why?” CC asked
“If we tell her she might not want to come on tour with us.” Jake said
“Who in their right minds wouldn’t want to tour with us??” CC yelled
“CC, shush!” I said
“Sorry, I got a little upset there.” He said
We all laughed.
“It’s okay CC.” Jinxx said
“Anyways so please don’t tell her and also we are touring with Get Scared, Vampires Everywhere, D.R.U.G.S., and Dr. Acula.” I said
“Who are they?” CC and Ash asked
I smacked my forehead.
“Next meeting we are all going to be together, not separately because I don’t like repeating myself. They are some new bands, but they’ve already heard of us.” I said
“Ohhh.” They said
I nodded.
“Is everyone on the same term now?” I asked
They all nodded.
“Okay then. Ash, CC, my friend that I mentioned, Mesly, please don’t touch her.” I said
“Why are you only telling us?” Ash asked offended
“No, not like that you creep, it’s just that she’s… sick.” I said
“Alright then.” Ash said
“Ash, you know I love you.” I said
“You better.” He said
We hugged and a car that was driving passed us called us gay, so I flipped him off and then continued to hug him.
