Bite Me

Chapter 12

“God damn it.” I said hitting my head against the door.
“What?” Jake asked.
“Austin has the keys and I don’t have a spare.” I told him
Jake nodded.
Hold on…if he can hear someone scream from a mile and a half away. Would he hear me if I screamed for him? Why not try it, got nothing to lose
“Austin get your ass over here and open this door!” I screamed into the wind.
“Why did you do that?” Jake asked uncovering his ears.
“Sorry only thing I could think of to communicate with him.”I said.
We waited in silence for about ten minutes.
“What’s he doing here?” someone asked from behind me.
It was Austin, “He’s a friend. Can you open the door?”
He growled at me, but opened the door.
“Jake you can come in, but no funny business.” I said before walking in.
“Aaaaaaaah….but why?” he asked pouting a pit.
Oh he is so cute when he does that.
“Jake I swear you will become a decoration for my front room if you do or say anything.” I threatened.
“Ok, ok, I won’t.” he smiled.
“Did you do the report for English?” I asked.
“No, shit! When is it due?” he asked
“Tomorrow.” I laughed.
Jake never remembers to do his homework over the weekend.
“Shit, Rose I got to go. Sorry, but if I don’t do this, I’ll fail and my mom will kill me.” he hugged me and ran out the door.
“Bye Jake, good luck.” I called after him.
I sighed and went to my room and start putting cloths away. I turned around and fell to the floor from shock. Austin was sitting on my bed.
“I…I didn’t hear you come in.” I said standing up.
“Its later.” he smiled.
“The memories upset me that’s all.” I said continuing with my cloths.
“Your conversation with Jake was……interesting.” he said.
I stopped what I was doing.
“What do you mean?” I asked playing with a shirt that I was putting away.
“Don’t play dumb with me.” he growled.
I said nothing.
“And you want me to open up.” he said angry.
“This is different.” I insisted quietly.
“How?” he demanded. “How the hell is this different? I have told you things that I have never even let myself believe. And you can’t tell me something so simple.”
I would tell him, but I’m not even sure what my feelings are.
“Austin, listen… I don’t know what to say. Jake is weird, he assumes the weirdest things. And if I did have feelings for you… I would push them away and lie that they are nothing.” I said looking at the floor.
His feet appeared and he lifted my head.
“Why do that?” he asked.
He brushed the hair from my eyes and kissed me. I pulled back from surprise and fell to the floor.
“Please…leave…go.” I said not moving.
He left without anther word and without a fight.
The thought ran through my mind: Does Austin have feelings for me?
