Take Control

A lost cause.

When Oli woke up the next morning it was to an empty spot beside him. An immediate frown hit his lips and he sat up a bit confused. Yes, he knew they weren't a couple, but he also didn't assume she'd leave like this. Plus, he drove her here so she apparently had to go out of her way to do so, which made it that much more worse.

He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He really had no clue as to what was going on anymore, which bothered him more than he cared to admit.

"Hey, I made some coffee if you want some." Malorie said from the bedroom door way which startled him from his thoughts. His eyes landed on the girl before him and he felt himself breathe in relief.

"I uh, I don't own coffee..." He finally got out and she chuckled, "You do now."

A smile hit his lips as she left the room and he quickly got up throwing on his jeans as he did so. Maybe it wasn't a complete lost cause afterall.

"Did yeh go to tha store?" He asked walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah, you were asleep, I was bored, and yeah..." She said sitting up onto the counter.

He chuckled, "Right, ok."

She smiled as he grabbed a cup from the cabinet and poured some of the coffee into it.

"Yeh yanks and yeh coffee." He teased and she chuckled from her seat watching him pour more sugar into his cup than needed.

Once satisifed he flashed her a grin and brought the cup to his lips. She couldn't help but laugh and he sat it down with a face, "Too hot..."

She nodded and he stepped in front of her, "Wait. How did yeh go ta tha store?"

"I borrowed your car."

"Oh yeh sooo lucky I was asleep."

She laughed and he brushed her hair behind her ear, "What yeh plans for today?" He whispered and she shrugged her eyes finding it hard to leave his.

"Do yeh work?"

She shook her head no and he slid his arm carefully around her waist, "Ok."

"Do you?" She asked and he chuckled, "I don't have to."

She didn't speak unsure of what she would say to that. Of course she wouldn't mind spending the day with him, but she also didn't want to seem desperate by asking.

He leaned in and kissed her cheek softly, "Spend tha day wif meh." He whispered against her skin. He was done with pretending. He liked her and he didn't want to spend time away from her.

"Ok." She managed to get out as his fingers tangled in her hair. He kissed her forehead before pulling away from her leaving her a bit starry eyed. She didn't understand what was going on with him. Did he not just want to be friends now?

"And I would ask if yeh want meh to take yeh ta yeh house to change and what not, but seems like yeh did that already on yeh lil outin'." He joked and she laughed, "Yeah, you slept a long time."

He chuckled as he left the kitchen. Normally he would have been furious at someone taking his car, but for the life of him he couldn't understand why she didn't bring that out of him. Then again, how could he ever be mad at someone like her?

He quickly took a shower and got ready in no time and as he headed back to the living room, Malorie was sitting on the couch humming some song as she stared at the ipod in her hand. He chuckled and walked over, sitting beside her.

She looked up at him with a grin and he pulled one of the ear phones from her ear, "What yeh doin', love?"

"Oh, you know, listening to some Katy Perry."

He couldn't help but laugh at that, "Oh is that so?"

She nodded before turning the ipod off and wrapping up the ear phones.

"Neva would have pegged yeh for a Katy Perry type of girl."

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me, Oliver." She said with a wink before standing from the couch. Well, he couldn't argue with that.

"That's why we are hangin' out today, love. So we can get ta know each otha betta."

"Right, because we're friends." She said sarcastically.

Well, it was bound to happen eventually.

"Right...." He responded, rolling his eyes as he followed her out the door. He would forever regret saying that. Regardless if what they did afterwards wasn't very 'friendly'.

"Are yeh hungry?" He asked once in the car and she shrugged looking out the window. He shook his head and started the car. Maybe he was a bit complicated some times, but she wasn't any better. She knew exactly how to drive him mad.

He reached out and grabbed her hand, trying to fight the grin that threatened his lips.

"Mal..." He spoke as their fingers linked together.

She turned to look at him knowing there was no point in trying to contain the butterflies in her stomach. They would never go away anyways.

"Are yeh bloody hungry?" He asked again and she nodded causing him to chuckle, "I swear yeh such a weird bird."

She stuck her tongue out at him and he drove the short distance to the diner. He held her hand as they walked in, and he hoped he wouldn't run into any of the guys. Not that he was embarrassed by her because they all thought she was hot anyways, but because he didn't like having to explain himself.

Instead of taking the seat across from her he slid in beside her which even took her a bit by surprise. He kissed her cheek as he threw his arm onto the back of the booth before looking at the menu. He was killing her and yet she didn't know what to say which was odd since she had no problem saying what was on her mind for the most part.

"What do yeh want love?" He asked glancing over at her and she finally spoke, "Chicken fingers."

He chuckled, "Yeh would."

"Hey! What does that mean?"

"Meanin' yeh eat like a child."

She glared at him and he laughed as the waitress came up. He gave the woman the order and as she walked away he looked back at Malorie.

"So..." he said grabbing her attention once more as she looked up from her cup.

"So?"

"What's yeh favorite color?"

"Purple. Yours?"

"Red." He responded and the questioning game continued throughout lunch.

"Justin Bieba? Really?!" He asked loudly as he laughed his way from the diner.

"Shhh!" She whispered shoving him and he looked over at her with an amused grin, "Yeh goin' ta jail."

"How?! He's of age!"

"Yeh would know, wouldn't yeh?"

"What! You asked! I answered!"

"I expected, I don't know, someone a bit more rock n' roll or somefin'."

"Oh and who is your celebrity crush? Hayley Williams?"

He laughed, "Hardly. I don't fink I reallah have one to be honest."

"Bull crap!"

"Yeh juss mad cause I didn't say someone as ridiculous as that Bieba kid!"

"I can't help that he's cute!"

"Oh, I will foreva hold that ova yeh head, love." He teased as he opened the car door for her and she groaned as she got in.

"Baby, baby, baby, ohhh..." He sang causing her to errupt into a fit of giggles whether or not she was mad at him.

"That's right, yeah?" He asked chuckling at himself and she laughed, "Afraid so."

He grinned as he looked back at the road. He liked making her laugh and if anything he knew he was going to be in serious trouble with himself if he kept her around.

"You're just a hater." She said and he let out a laugh, "Of what?!"

"His talent and his good looks!" She said loudly. To be honest she wasn't this dedicated to the kid, she barely knew a song, but arguing with Oli about it had become fun for both of them.

"I have talent and good looks!" He defended and she giggled some more.

"Oh, yeh don't agree?" He asked looking over at her as they stopped at a red light.

She shrugged innocently, "Maybe talent, but, I don't know..."

He narrowed his eyes at her and she smiled before leaning closer and kissing him quickly. He stared at her surprised by her action. They kissed, clearly, but she never had kissed him first. The car behind him honked knocking him back to reality and he sped off with her chuckling in the passenger seat.

Once back at his house he turned off the car and they both looked at each other.

"Going to get out?" She asked with an amused grin already on her lips.

He shrugged and as she went to open the door he quickly locked it causing a glare to be shot his way. He chuckled and unlocked the door as she mumbled about how ridiculous he was. Hopping out, Oliver grabbed her hand as she tried to fly past him. They both enjoyed the little games they played. How playful they were and full of banter towards each other. He held on to her as he tried to unlock the door with his free hand. She let out a sigh clearly growing impatient.

"Relax." He grumbled before pressing his lips to her neck. Chills ran down her back and the silence made him tighten his grasp on her and kiss down her neck.

"Oliver..."

"Mhm?" He mumbled forgetting all about the key still dangling in the door since both of his arms were now around the small girl.

She reached out and opened the door for him and he kissed her cheek before letting her go. He sighed shutting the door behind him. He didn't get why he had zero control around the girl. It almost made him disgusted with himself.

"Now what?" She asked placing her hand on her hip and before he could respond his lips were on hers. He was a lost cause.

"This isn't very friendly." She said between kisses as he tried to take her shirt off.

"Uh huh. Friends wif benefits." He mumbled yanking it off and pushing her back against the couch as his lips ran over her chest. It's like he could never get enough of her and it drove him mad.

Friends with benefits was the last thing Oliver or Malorie wanted, but if neither were willing to admit how they really feel then that would have to do for now. That is, until someone gets hurt or it gets complicated. Of course one of those things would eventually happen simply because nothing good ever came from such a term..

Friends with benefits.
